they made a mistake supposed to be 90% because (9 times out of 10) for the hit rate( 1:10 ) so when they retype that back into their computers the wolf would win ( 1:25 )

I see where your coming from, but I disagree, it still just walked off the munched foot. Besides, it was a stupid match because as you said they'd never ever be one on one to begin with. Besides, these things are unrealistic, they're good for telling what would win in a fight which would never happen (e.g. Lion vs Polar Bear, thats not one but an example) but anything could happen in a fight, its not a set routine because otherwise the real stuff wouldnt be so exciting :D

Were talking about an Alpha male, this means hes had to fight his way to the top. So the wolf is a more expierienced combatant. The wolf is just a better fighter and even if a wolf is killed the pack will rip the cougar into pieces.

A cougar attempted to steal a wolves food and they fought. The wolf won but from the looks it probaly bled out.

@darnjack0roll Don't be ridiculous. Cougars have a hunting success rate of 80%, whereas the wolf only has a success rate of 10%. Cougars are more than capable of bringing down large ungulates by themselves, whereas wolves need to work in teams - they are pretty useless by themselves.
Almost any animal will scavenge. Wolves and cougars are both opportunistic feeders; if food is present, they will eat it, regardless of whether they are leftovers or not.

Wolves on the other hand do not like to back down unless its a human. But cats usually run away from other animals that could hurt it....its just nature....a wolf would probably chase it off as soon as it growled. Cougar would run too.

Jesus people just because a wolf is you favorite animal doesnt mean you have to be bitchy about it... Sure maybe the pack would defeat the cougar but this is signaling out a "ONE ON ONE" battle which in this case the cougar won. And yes wolves can be clawed to death! One rip at it's underside and poof gone! But personally I think the whole shows shit we don't know would win because predators like this tend to ignore one another or stay out of eachothers way unless they are desperate for prey

This argument should end. There is plenty of videos of cougars killing one wolf, but wolves travel in packs, so, If it was one on one, the cougar would win every time, but since thats uncommon, it would be a wolf pack vs, a cougar, where the wolves would win.

@TheGamekid298 A wolf pack would flee from a cougar if they ever saw one. Plus, wolf packs are generally quite small (perhaps 4-7 individuals) so the chances are fairly balanced. A single swipe of a cougar's paw could kill a wolf.

first of all Wolfs are pack animals.. they does not normaly survive alone, and they are smart aswell and it wouldnt go for a cougar alone. second a cougar has more vantage heavyer stronger more wepons. Everyone knows that Felines pound for Pound, they have vantage against any land predator. And there are true facts. Wolves have a bite force of 493.5 lbs at the canine tip whereas cougar's have a bite force of 497.1 lbs at the canine tip. However at the carnassial connection teeth the wolves bite force increases and surpasses the cougar's by a very small margin. Carnassial teeth, wolf = 773.9 lbs compared to the cougar's 773.2 lbs.

Were talking about an Alpha male, this means hes had to fight his way to the top. So the wolf is a more expierienced combatant. Not only that but his bite force is much higher then the cougar's and then there is the natural proof: wolves and cougars have fought multiple times before and I've actually seen them fight during my trip near the Rockies. The wolf is just a better fighter and even if a wolf is killed the pack will rip the cougar into pieces.

A cougar can take down an elk alone, a wolf has to at least have 2 other wolves with them to take it down and the chances they even get it are 1/3. Then there's just the logic that cougars are bigger and stronger.

Cougars are not that strong but they hit at such a great speed they might as well be a bear but if a wolf were to keep a reachable distance the cougar would lose. Also wolves have been known to hunt alone and have had quite a lot of success and your stupid for thinking size has anything to do with it.

Cougars don't hunt wolves they usually only clash when one tries to steal the others food. A head to head fight a wolf would easily kill the cougar because thats how the wolf was raised, through non stop fighting with the rest of the pack. A wolf is a battle hardened predator. @Skittywolf Though a cougar can hit harder but the wolve's bite is much stronger and thats all it takes. A cougar is leaner and agile but would have difficulty getting a lethal bite off. The wolf also has thick coarse hair which almost acts like armor and i have literally seen them fight. A couple years back on vacation i went on a hike(armed of course) into the edge of the Rockies. A cougar attempted to steal a wolves food and they fought. The wolf won but from the looks it probaly bled out.

By win, did you mean they killed it, or it ran off and how many wolves were there? Also, it's wolves who steal prey, cougars drag their prey (sometimes 7 times their size) to a place where it won't get stolen.

@Skittywolf idk if the wolf had killed it alone or if he was a straggler but he was eating on what looked like a deer(maybe an elk?). The cougar lunged at his neck but missed and the wolf got a bite on his head and i mean the cougar's left side of his skull was in the wolf's mouth and then the wolf went for the neck. But it looked like the cougar had gotten his side good when he missed and i think the wolf might of actually bled out so it was kind of a tie. Not sure if he did die or not.

Wolves have a bite force up to 406 pounds unlike domestic Dogs Wolves (during the winter) get their 3 layers of fur while dogs only have 2 A real battle like this before you know it that Wolf would've already have that Cougar by its neck...
