  • i would have bough the dvds if they werent stacked up

  • wtf, are these trailers not finished?

  • I really do not like the english dub. The fact that they treat it like a disney movie and make ahiru sound like a 4 year old sort of turns me away from it. Anyone who reads this, PLEASE watch it in japanese.

  • Princess Tutu is way better than I expected it to be. I cried 5 times already, and I'm not even half-way through the series.

Plus... Mytho is just adorable. <3

  • This trailer is really good but the music annoys me... >:( jk :)

  • awesome anime, great music and character development.

  • Da fuck did I just watch, lol.

  • @X1SlothX1 frikin read the top comments...and watch, you wont regret

  • this is my fav anime after dragonball z and it was so good that i stopped watching anime after it

  • Where can I see this?

  • @princessthyemis You can see it right here on YouTube on the animenetwork channel, I believe. It's free to watch. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it by now.

  • The music at the beginning sounded like the West Wing music from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. And then it suddenly turned into Swan Lake. And wow, I didn't even realize how similar that piece from Swan Lake sounds like the Harry Potter theme song. XD

  • This trailer does make it seem Disney-esque, although the man laughing at the end was kinda creepy o_o

  • 13 more ep to go

  • This is definetly without a shadow of a doubt My all time favorite anime ever. It's a beautiful story inside it's own story. The characters are amazing and I can compare with Ahiru alot and heck I'm a guy >.>

  • Song sounds like somthing from Harry Potter.

  • 0:45 does anyone know the name of this instrumental song? I know it's a famous ballet song but idk the name of it or who composed it?

  • @GeishaDevi

    Swan Lake by Tschaikovsky.

  • @Ixion26 Thanks so much!

  • I love the music in this anime, and I hope to have all of the discs, for I watched it off netflix.

  • yes, i have watched princess tutu before, and it is not fairy tale, but also one of the most epic animes i have ever watched. the ending is suprizing. and for those how come to love Ru, will like it. i dont belive there is a season 2. but i hope there will be...

  • Ahhh~

    I love a man who knows ballet~

...I wish there was some in my class :C

  • Yes, this does make it sound like the normal magical girl fare. But trust me on this one; Princess Tutu is NOT. It's a metafiction in the style of a fairytale, one of the most complex and thought-provoking magical girl shows ever, if not the.

Ahiru is no disney princess. Mytho is no disney prince. Their story, along with Fakir's and Rue's, is filled with darkness and tragedy, but an overall positive message and a sweeping conclusion that can only be described as epic.

  • Beautifully put!

  • @poetoffire

Not to mention the girl doesn't get the guy in the end.

  • @poetoffire I'd have to agree... On first look I thought this was a joke and for children... ITS NOT. OMG... It was beautiful, the tragedy, complex... The list could go on. NEVER JUDGE AN ANIME BY IT ANIMATION!

  • For some reason I couldn't get into the English dub...probably because the Japanese voice for Ahiru was so perfect. But this is a great show - the title is very deceptive as the plot becomes very dark and serious. Definitely not "Disney-esque". Disney could not come up with something this creative. The classical music is of course phenomenal. One of the most unique animes out there.

  • I watched only 1 episode, and then I bought the whole series.

This series does that to you.

Amazing anime, beautiful music, twisted and dark story; lovely characters.

    Completely recommended.

  • wait....no english dub???

    me want to see!!!!!!

    the japanese dub was awesome!

    the whole story was awesome!!

but anyone know where you can read the manga??

  • yeah mangafox is a great website fir manga!

  • I loved it. i can't wait to watch it all over.

  • Honestly is this really good?...

It looks like something off the Disney channel...is it only romance?

  • This is most definitely a good anime. Princess Tutu is not only romance, it shows the determination that Duck had and is full of plot twists you'd never expect. Look at comments above you. This anime is guaranteed to dazzle spectators!

  • @KacieKluts

    Far from it.

It involves stabbing hands in the second half! :D!

  • I loved this anime! The story and characters were really well done! Though I recommend watching it in japanese with subs XD

  • SPOILER!

  • This is one of my favorite animes ever! I highly recommend it.

  • it surprised the hell out of me but i loved the shit out of this, i wasn't expecting to, but there you have it.

  • ...I remember this too!xD but I watched this around a month ago...this was from ADVfilms not to long ago...

  • It still is from ADV Films. Anime Network is ADV Films cable/digital distribution channel.

  • Failure!

  • isn't that music in the beginning from Beauty and the Beast?

  • yeah

  • Yes. It's a classic piece. Princess Tutu has a lot of good classical music.

  • That's what I thought, too!

I hadn't seen this trailer in a long time and I was listening to the Beauty and the Beast music just a while back and I remembered that the music in this trailer sounded like it.

Now I know that it is the same music.

  • @KiNeTiCLigHtEnInG

It actually is a classical score. Although it does sounds very much familiar to Beauty and the Beast ;D If I find the song, I'll post the name

  • @UnsweetenedPineapple are you thinking of the song Aquarium from Carnival of the Animals? It sounds a lot like one of the pieces from Beauty and the Beast.

  • Sounds sweet.

  • Looks so funny! Wanna watch! "But...the duck remained duck!" lol XD

  • I cant wait to buy it

  • Probably one of the greatest anime I've ever seen <3 and a wonderful dub!

  • I love the Princess Tutu anime, but with this english version, can't we just call her in her japanese name?

  • Ahiru is the Japanese word for duck. It isn't really a name. The translators felt that what the writer was getting at was having her named after the animal since she actually is a duck, so they translated it. I, myself, prefer it that way. And even if I didn't the English dub is still excellent. A lot of work was put into the English dub which I think anyone who watches will notice. That's just my opinion, though.

  • this is a very good anime. i love it so much. it one of the best out there.

  • she is so pretty

  • I want to buy this this is definitly on my top #3 fav animes.

  • Kinda reminds me of the classic Disney movies! :D which automaticly makes it a 5/5

  • I love Princess Tutu. It'll always be one of my top favourite animes. <3

  • This looks wonderful! I love the trailer.
