  • not bad she did a nice job...ride safe..

  • Brave man ...and to let her drive at NIGHT to boot! :)

Can't wait for the video of finance on HER NEW BIKE!

  • Yikes, I'm surprised you let her drag her feet along the ground like that...nice way to get a broken ankle or get yanked off the bike by getting your shoes snagged on something.

  • Good for her! :) It's my turn next.

  • Your fiancee is a natural. I tried getting my buddy's wife on a bike once and she dumped it all over the road lol

  • it's funny to hear a cruiser rider say "never be as hardcore as me"

  • aww thats kinda cute and funny :) reminds me of the 1st day i got my bike!

3 weeks later and i cant believe i was ever like that! :o

  • Is there ever a scenario where you would want to go into neutral from first? Like to coast?

  • No, because if you wanted to coast in neutral and had to move quickly or out of the way, you would want to be in gear so you could just twist the throttle and go. You can coast in any given gear as long as the engine speed and bike speed are correct for coasting in that gear.

  • I know that when you are in neutral and go down you are in first. So does that mean when you take off from lets say a stop light, you go 1st N 2nd 3rd...?

Im happy to see your fiancee is giving it a try!

  • Neutral is in between first and second (half a click up from first). When you are shifting up while accelerating, you do a full click up to second. If you accidentally only do a half click up into neutral, shift up again into 2nd, never shift down from a 'false neutral' while accelerating, as you'll lock the rear wheel and get the bike into a wobble.

  • You are correct with the gear pattern. 1-N-2-3-4-5. However, you can go directly from 1st to 2nd. Neutral is like a "half-step" or "half-click" so you would just need to tap it a little to go up or down into neutral instead of the full motion. Hope that makes sense.

  • Unless of course you have a Kawasaki. If you do have a Kawasaki, you don't have to worry as much about this, because Kawasaki has a positive neutral finder where it can only go in neutral when the bike is stopped, and only go into second while the bike is accelerating from first.

  • all kawasaki's? like ninjas or just cruisers?

  • All Kawi's

  • Erm... kidna'. It sorta' "helps" find neutral when you're stopped. It isn't that you can only get neutral from a stop and only second while moving, it just makes it easier to get which ever you most likely need.
