uhmm.... if you're using FL - all you have to do is make variant patterns.... that's the simple way, anyhow. You COULD make automations to stut the drums if you know how to do that. It's just recording changes to the channel. Play around with that on a new flp, though... I've messed up many'a'song like that.

You might also want to google the FL Studio Bible. It's free.
