  • Winning.

  • "You get Hoynes" Great line. Because not only does it show at that moment that he doesn't want to run, but that he also knows that Hoynes simply can't lead the free world the way he had, because he doesn't have the faith or the honor.

  • When I saw this I remember the death of my wife after many months of pain from the cancer. I wanted to blame God for that time of suffering she went through, what loving husband wouldn't, truthfully? It was easier then blameing the sickness or the inability to do nothing but watch and try to comfort as best as I could. Perhaps the mercy was in the comfort I could give in those last months.

  • How did he NOT win an Emmy??? When he was talking about Josh being his son it just made me remember how much he loved his staff. Amazing show, amazing cast, amazing creator Aaron Sorkin!

  • it's jed

  • "Gratias tibi ago, domine. Haec credam a deo pio? A deo iusto, a deo scito? Cruciatus in crucem. Tuus in terra servus, nuntius fui. Officium perfeci. Cruciatus in crucem. Eas in crucem!" "I give thanks to you, O Lord. Am I really to believe that these are the acts of a loving God? A just God? A wise God? To hell with your punishments. I was your servant here on Earth. And I spread your word and I did your work. To hell with your punishments. To hell with you!

  • OMG this secene is so amazing he called Josh his son ; )

  • Do you have the scene right after this one with the Dire Straits song?

  • Can anyone view this scence without getting chills?

    Stunning.

  • I was just thinking the same thing!?

  • I have always loved this scene. Actors kill for a scene like this and he had so many like it in this series. It stared with his first entrance scene and went on from there.

  • quite possibly THE greatest singular performance in the history of television.

  • what a legend
