I think you would find that this is an issue on how people have been raised to classify gender at a subconscious level. I think the child would still develop a sense of gender naturally, like animals do, but in no way would it learn gender stereotypes which are the effect of socialization. however, if this child was to come out to the world after being raised neutrally, it still wouldn't stop their surroundings from behaving towards them in a certain way further encouraging gender roles
you dont need raise feral children in order to see if these action are inherent or socialized all you have to do is compare with societies where the gender roles are different and socialization is different.
I am not sure how this information would affect the study you purpose... But it seems to me that it might be inhumane to purposely raise feral children for the purpose of a study, reguardless fo how controlled their environment may be..
I wish I could remember more about the study. It was done years and years ago, and I think in another country. If I find more info about it, I will send it along to you.
I know, it is still cruel . . . but I want to know! I'm sure there would be some crack-brained scientist somewhere who would do "research" like this but maybe not for gender socialization studies.
I remember reading a study about how human touch and human affection affects a developing infant... and they raised orphan infants in isolation rooms, with varying amounts of human contact.
What they found found was that babies that are only fed, cleaned and given the bare minimun of care actually died and/or were prone to sickness and meakness.
Babies that were talked to, held, cuddled and carried were almost 100% more likely to survive and were less likely to be sickly and meak.
Also why are all these people below worrying about babies??
its a hypothetical example...a curious one at that...ethical or unethical?
If they really need to they will grow a baby at the lab and do this and not worry about who gives a crap...
