Thanks for the lesson, I learn all the song, but I think you forgot a small part at the beginning of the song, between the intro and the bend part with the ring finger.. Sorry for my english!!
I've been saying for yrs that instructional guitar vids for novices should be filmed upside down so that the student can look over the shoulder of the teacher, as opposed to head-on. Wish they had stuff like this when I was learning. All I had was an intro book with black and white pics. I got so pissed I copied records and learned how to play by ear instead.. Good video
@ritter89 Upside down and goofy views create bad habits, pretty much like tab. You are never going to get your favorite guitar player to give you this view. So when tab is half wrong you are left with only your ears and available concert footage of the man playing the song you're screwed if you relied on too many crutches. Just my opinion but I think normal view is best.
The final judge on exactly how something is played
@nickeax Very nice. First time I saw something from this angle; excellent idea. I actually saw your link to the right while looking for something else. Glad I found this, may help some friends I know. But I really wanted to compliment you on your reply to the "flame". Exactly why I don't try to help people on here learn stuff. Peeps get something for nothing and tell you they can find it better elsewhere. Why are they here then?? LOL
OK. I HAVE to say, that this was VERY informative. Ive been wanting to learn this song since I was a kid, but was too lazy to work it out on my own. Due to this video, from yesterday to today, I can play the entire song!! THANK YOU NICKAXE!! I love playing this song through my Les Paul it sounds JUST like the record!! CLassic down and dirty Stones!! Thanks again man!!
Very nice job. Most informative guitar video I've ever seen without narration. Holding the camera at that angle definitely helps. Hope to see more from you!
o thanks alot and the camera angle your at is the easiest way to learn and see it and also thank u for playing it before the video [i hate lessons that dont]
You're welcome. I use a Vox AC15 Heritage Handwired head and a matching 1X12 cab, and a Peavey Classic 30, sometimes with a Marshall JMP-1 for the preamp.
I have a couple of concerns with tabbing something like this. Firstly, if you can't recognise the standard rock/blues 'devices' I'm using here, (CONT...)
then I would recommend doing some more training in that area. If you don't, you may harm your future playing and learning ability. Second, this type of music is all about technique, TAB offers very little information relating to technique. You don't even know which fingers you should be using.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I have a genuine desire for people to learn properly, and to learn the things that will help them to work out songs like this for themselves.
well said! as a guitar teacher im totally fed up with students demanding every single note tabbed out.. This teaches absolutely nothing other than meaningless sequences of numbers. the key as you say is to teach generic positions for particular chords/phrases where the fingering is crucial. anyone with common sense can then fill in the gaps themselves. Dont give in to the tab police! keep guitar lessons visual and informative. as i rule i refuse to play anything unless i understand it.
nice tone - i prefer a fender amp ( blues junior) personally to get the keef tone - usually with a fender guitar too as they were designed to work together. tone is pivotal for this style. maybe you could explain in your lesson what your set up is and how you set the tone/volume on the guitar and amp to get the right balance between a clean and distorted signals. great work though!
Ok, I know what you mean. I will post a video response of the gear I use most often. And I probably should make video about the subtleties over drive and amps and stuff?
Only what you think matters, it's YOUR amp! If I had no amp, but my current knowledge of what's out there and $AU1000.00, I'd spend it on a Peavey Classic 30.
If you've been playing for five years, you should take your own guitar into a shop and plug into some amps that fit your budget.
Awesome man....great playing and transcribing...much appreciated

This starts off too slow and when it gets tricky it's speeding up and not zooming in anymore. Great...

@ritter89 I recommend learning by ear too. That's how I learned. Once you know the basics of rock guitar, it's not too difficult. :)

My mentality behind tone is "nice guitar into nice amp". ;)
Sometimes, I use a nice drive pedal. He he he he he...

i understand but a relative beginner could do with some technical info.
