Then 6 months or so later, he "shocked" bischoff by returning to his Hollywood gear.

Your Right Sting's personailty does not make him a good heel, he is the lead by example face. What the hell was the point of the other 3 people running inthe ring were they even a part of this story or did some guy in the back just tell them to run out and get kicked in the face then leave?
Keep in mind how screwed up WCW was during this time period, no one knew what the hell they were doing and wrestlers have said they didn't know what the hell was going on and storylines really didn't make any sense anymore.

LMFAO WRONG, again, that is called jobbing. Putting someone over also means selling the moves they do to you, which is what The Rock does the best. The only person that even compares to him is Shawn Michaels. The problem against Hogan is there is nothing to sell because his moves are all dry and boring that if you sell them you look like a douche so it is impossible to actually put him over.

No pal, once again there is a HUGE difference between puting someone over and jobbing. I would say that at Wrestlemania 23 Shawn Michaels JOBBED to Cena because Cena gained absolutely nothing by winning the match. At Wrestlemania 21 Triple H put Batista OVER because Batista was finally developed into a main event caliber star. Selling someones moves are just called Selling the moves.

Well by 1999 no one exactly marked out for babyface hogan from the 80's? Like anything too much of anything isnt a good thing and that is the case here. By 1993 he played out hsi face gimmick and wasnt as big around this time he was stoppping rising stars ( good example Bret Hart ) :)

Hogan as a face didn't propel WCW to it's meteoric heights it was him as a heel, but let's not let your revisionist history distort the facts, because by the time he became a face in mid 99 WCW was losing weekly ratings and millions in PPV and the company was hemorrhaging money.

@warriorsleftnut are you serious? For one Hogan joined the promotion in 1994 as a face, not 1996. When he turned heel in 1996 becoming Hollywood Hogan was when he made them a shitload of money but it was as a heel and with the help of Nash Hall and Sting chasing him for a year plus. I'm positive that when he came back in 2002 that he helped flare some nostalgia buys as well. But at this point in 99' he was making nobody but himself a fortune.

Wrong. Hogan didn't make WCW popular in the 90's because of his work as a face. His pre-nWo WCW work was piss poor. The 83-84 weeks where WCW beat the WWE in the ratings were during Hogan's heel run in the nWo.

For me, Sting was the only reason for watching WCW when it was coming to a close. Benoit, Guerrero and the others had lost hope.

Couldn't agree more Undertakerfan1986; Sting just had something that distinguished him from the other wrestlers! I love that the fans at this show stayed with him when he double crossed Hogan - tells you everything you need to know about how well loved the guy is. FWIW, I think he would have been ruined had he gone to the WWE, That's just what they did to ex-WCW/ECW guys. Shame really.

Sting's turning heel in WCW didn't last long this is happen at FallBrawl 99 (Sept), by december at Starcade 99 Sting and Luger were in a fight over Elizabeth. Sting as a Face once again.

i loved WCW when it wasn't owned by Mcmahon. WCW really tried to do their best tp keep the fans to watch their show, and when Vince bought WCW, it's like WWE doesn't care about doing their best because they "don't" have any competition. but i think WWE should start to care about their ratings cause TNA are doing really good.
