IMHO vivid should have been the default option. I've found it to be the only one that fits the manic tone of the game. The current default is just too lifeless.

Protip: Max the saturation and slightly increase the contrast. It looks really nice.

Don't worry; a console version is supposed to be coming out in a few months. Whether or not the color options will stay in I do not know.
