This guy is going to be one of the great at nebraska if he can finish out plays with more physicality. In order to have more effect with his power running he needs to add some weight probably 20 lbs on his frame.
my sister knows this guy....he's pretty good but u know their is better...................D-M0N3Yaka Darius Sanders.....ME....is wayyy better,.....and im only in middle school....hahaha
Pelini ought to recruit Ohio more. Ohio is the 4th best state for high school football talent and Nebraska football would probably be more attractive for guys from Ohio than players from say Texas or California. Nebraska is more like Ohio than those warm weather states.
I thought this guy was something special per Big Red Wrap-Up, but he looks like WR playing I-back. He doesn't run hard, I think he will end up as a CB.
I REALLY hope you're joking with that statement. I've watched a ton of these videos and he is a flat baller! He is fast, and has countless vids just taking it to the house.
Can't wait to watch this kid play RB at Nebraska! He will be a star.
You should watch his senior tape. This tape sucks and I agree, but his senior video proves his worth at RB. As for CB, yeah he could be a good one, but after watching his senior film, I am back on board.
Although, I think the "doesn't run hard" statement is retarded.
A-Rod will be a guard. He could actually play both spots at tackle or guard but he is better suited for guard. He is a strong interior lineman and will begin his career at guard.. But this braylon heard pick-up was huge for Nebraska glad to see us snagging big recruits like him.. Imagine this backfield in two years.. Rex Burkehead, Braylon Heard and Aaron Green.. WOW!!
From WVU to Nebraska? Probably not a great move! Check out the recent history at running back at WVU. Chances are Heard would have been the next big thing....Best of luck at Nebraska....*Scratches Head*
Hm...sounds like a WVU homer to me. You really can't compare anything with ourstaff since it is a new staff and Helu/Burk already look pretty good under this staff. Nebraska of the past cranked out RB's like crazy, hopefully we can return. You talking shit though is semi-comical, I mean WVU is the product of being in the weakest BCS conference. Stewart has impressed me, but I am going to hold off 2-3 more years before I make a judgement. You sound full of sour grapes, very butt sore, IYAM.
Ya, but that is more speculation than anything, he might not of commited even if he would of passed. That is another thing about WVU and the big east in general, their academic standards are so low that they pretty much can take all non-qualifiers from the big boys, see USF whose fast rise to the top can be attributed to a coach who learned it from his master.
Hahahaha, are you kidding me Nutshot? Who in the Big12 North is any good? Missouri? If Nebraska beats Missouri they win the North!
As for the Big East bashing. The Big East went 4-2 in bowls this year and the Big 12 went 4-4. This is the worst yea in a long time for the BigEast and we still smoked you guys. Maybe in the future you could check out the facts instead of speculation? (Check out the past 5 years of BigEast bowl wins)
Also, check out the winning % of bowls by conference. The Big East is right behind the SEC at 55%, the Big 12 is at 48%! (Big East 2nd all time, Big 12 = 6th!)
You can throw whatever you want at me stats wise, this is the first year since the ACC expansion that I thought the Big East was decent. Now that Kelly is gone and Leavitt might be, the big east wiill just be WVU and an inconsistently good from year to year Pitt team. I would say Nebraska's defense could easily give your champion a game and their defense is can be sliced like butter.
But, I guess the big east is pretty much the ACC if you want to interpret stats like you do.
Not saying the Big East is anywhere near the SEC, but the league is a whole lot better than the talking heads on ESPN give it credit for. I agree with you that Nebraska has a pretty good defense and things are looking up for you guys. However, i think you'll be surprised at the depth in the Big East in the next few years. Rutgers,UCONN, and USF aren't exactly power houses but they really round out the league. I agree it should be WVU and PITT but it's too early to tell about Cincy...
Like I said, this season the BE surprised me because one FUCK ESPN, I don't really care what they say, but this was the first year since the ACC expansion that the BE impressed me with its depth. Edsall wll get a job soon, USF is fucked without Leavitt (but they are the sleeping giant of the BE, if they can get a good coach, they have most upside), Pitt is just inconsistent, but have done well recently.
That should clear up the whole "Weak Conference" bit. Now for the RB situation and Heard. I agree that Pelini is doing a good job at Nebraska, but really what other way could you guys go? Since '04 you guys have been getting blasted! If Heard becomes a good back and establishes a run game for you guys then good move Heard. Otherwise WVU was his best choice! The run game is a lot more established and WVU is a lock to crank out a great back! (Coubourne,Slaton, Devine, etc...)
I know I'll take some flak for this, but I think he is an average RB at best. I like his athleticism and I'm glad his is coming to Lincoln, but I think he was recruited to play Corner, which Rivals has listed as his other position. With his history as a running back, he could be dangerous returning interceptions. His size and speed are identical to Marcus Mendoza who couldn't make it as a RB and is now a Slot Receiver. Baker Steinkuhler, 5 Star OT, switched to NT under Bo. My guess is CB...
First off, Heard is a legit 5'11, almost 6 flat while Mendoza is 5'10" after you factor in his hair. Heard has a much more impressive frame.
With that said, I agree Mendoza is fast, but the kid has NO vision whatsoever and is always trying to bounce shit to the outside in practice and has a very unimpressive work ethic on the practice field and in the weight room.
I will agree Heard could make an impressive corner, but he will get his shot at RB and his vision is much better than MM.
Also, MM isn't a slot guy anymore, that experiment ended in Fallcamp, he is back in at RB.
And Baker is probably moving to offense to try his game at LT since Smith sucks. This isn't speculation, this is what I know. Hardrick won't be athletic enough for the right side and our current OT's kind of suck. We like where we are at with DT and the staff has confidence in some youth right there.
Actually I read that as long as he continues to work hard at Nose, Bo promised that he would stay there because that's where he wants to play. Also, Andrew Rodriguez is a very athletic Tackle with quick feet who will be playing next year. And we still have Marcel Jones who has spent time at LT as well. I know this, because I live in Husker Country on the Iowa/Nebraska Border. Baker is staying at Nose because that is where he has been training to take over for Suh, Fact. I have friends at UNL
You could see yesterday why people like him so much as a guard. Just because rivals says Tackle, doesn't mean shit, in fact they are probably switching him to an OG in the database since his dominating performance as an OG in the Army AAG.
FWIW, I hate the Baker to OT idea, but it is still VERY possible and could probably be called likely at this point. I hate the idea, but my guys are usually hitting around .900 and this is one of those things that they would know for sure, it is their recruiting info that misses once in a while.
Well, in that case, I thank you for setting me straight. I have no problem saying that I was wrong, and I'm just making conversation. My last contact with the Team was Marlon Lucky, but I haven't spoken to him since he left the school. I only have friends that are students, and I no longer know anybody on the team. I got the "quick feet" thing from Rivals: "Rodriguez is actually very nimble on his feet for a big guy" and I was told by a friend that he was "supposed to" play tackle. My Bad.
Good foundation plenty of upside. I'm excited about the potential this guy brings. As good as Braylon is seems to be one who'll develop with coaching and experience.
hes ok,....still not as good as dontrayvious washington.. hes a stud hes juss young.. yall dont know anything... WASTE of a Scholarship... Forreal...He better Redshirt him and then fake an injury the next in order too...get any playing time in the near future after Dontrayvious lol ...NO BS juss keepin it 100%
You are a retard. First off Tray's last name is ROBINSON, not Washington. That automatically takes away any and all credability. Secondly, Tray will never be fast enough to be an every down back, but he will play a very great role in our offense. Tray and Burk are great backs for the future, same with Heard except he is also a situational back. Who we need is someone like Deontae Cooper who can do it all, Burkhead is the closest to it and he is damn good if you ask me.
helu will leave. that leaves burkhead and tray the following year. i see him beating out tray and he will be the featured back along with burkhead. how is that dumb? its pretty obvious he'll redshirt. GBR and imo burkhead will stay on top.
I don't know if he'll redshirt anymore. I know we had injuries at HB and we had to get rid of Castille so that cut out depth but i'm pretty sure we'll be playin our best guys to get the best out of our offense.
Guy looks smooth. I think Rex is going to be holding it down by the end of 2010.
Looks like Lydeck is the one who has no clue about recruiting, Heard is definately going to Nebraska, I guess Pelini's Cardinal Mooney ties are still paying off!! GO HUSKERS!!!
He hasnt officially changed his committment yet, however he is visiting tomorrow and bo pelini went to the same school. Right now it is pretty likely he is coming here. But i rather have him at wvu then ohio state anyday. I enjoy watching wvu.
k dude, that at hes been a soft verbal to west virginia ever since he committed. Nebraskas been recruiting him all year and hes expressed interest. nice of you to go straight to insulting me over a little comment.
No, he hasn't been a soft verbal. He's been listed as a solid verbal this entire time and until the OSU offer there was no reason to think otherwise.
And it's not an insult if it's true, which it is. Your school offers a kid a free trip, and he accepts. Going to Nebraska is nothing more than a courtesy to a coach that has connections at Mooney.
If he goes anywhere besides WVU, it will be Ohio State. Believe what you want, but I promise that.

Haha, I am sorry, but that is funny.
First off either you or whoever gives you info is talking out their ass, because most of your info is offbase.
Arod was taken as a guard, he isn't athletic and he is a very raw talent at that, he will not have an early impact, but he has incredible upside.
Baker to OT is still an experiment and will be for a while, but it was his idea. The coaching staff is for it for reasons, I can't say yet.
