  • very nice explenation, complecated but i got a view about how it works, but a question about the igniters are they gunpowder? i mean they are refilled every shot?

  • @DeathGhost809 I'm not sure what you mean. What igniters?

  • @Omsbon i do not remember the names Unfortunately but its in the first parts of the video, from the trigger to the motor inside the grenade

  • @DeathGhost809 Still don't know what you're talking about, but once the grenade is fired, it's gone. You don't have to refill anything.

  • @Omsbon ok ok nvm, thanks again for your time

  • @DeathGhost809 Still don't know what you're talking about, but once the grenade is fired, it's gone. You don't have to refill anything.

  • so a car crash with some rpg warheads wouldn't be recommended..

  • i like to know how something works before i use it

    #somalianpirateforlife

  • For those people, who think, RPG-7 = Rocket Propelled Grenade(7). Especially for those, who debate about it. Do make a look to the first cadre of the video and compare last 3 lines and google-translation of "antitank grenade-launcher" to Russian.

  • Epic Red Alert music ..

  • How show us How "VX Rockets" Work, you know the Ones thet mix The Binarys while in FLight and Realease on Impact. ;P

  • i always find it funny how much science and engineering goes into something that lasts about a second before its blown up

  • IN SHORT WHEN FIRED AND HITS SOMETHING IT GOES BOOM.

  • Wuts the diff w/ this design from the WW2 German Panzerfaust, it looks similar?

It may have been copied from that German type?

  • @bayyagg The RPG-2 was influenced by the Panterfaust 150. The RPG-7 is an independent design.

  • @Omsbon

The design is similar but the technology is independent.

The hollow charge on the warhead is very similar!

  • @bayyagg That's true for every shaped-charge anti-armor weapon. It's like saying all modern rifles are based on the medieval pot-de-fer.

  • @Omsbon Look at the bazooka's munitions, it has the same cone shape. its interseting. this design for an explososive device was first used in WW1 or 2. IT was a A charge,, that would stick to a tank and explode. It didnt suceed, because you would literally have to run up too a tank, put it on the tank, and hope no one notices "Hey whats that guy putting on our Tank" "Oh its probably nothing" "Then why is that guy running?" "BEcause, he was threatened by our scary eagle symbols on our Jackets!'

  • @Omsbon LOL. Once the booster and sustainer are screwed together the target is screwed altogether.

  • @Omsbon its panZerfaust. juts translated it means tankfist

  • @998761000 I know, I'm fluent in German. That's called a typo.

  • who cares how its made!

as long as it fucking blows things up!

  • @saihoun You kinda have to know how to construct it before you fire it. Unless you expect your mommy to put it together for you.

  • @BringOnMusic Yeaa.. was a joke...

  • Where can I buy one of these?

  • Thanks for the help! Off to school now! Lololol

  • thanks for the info

  • Hmm what source did you use for the images? haven't seen that poster before..

  • @Sergi762 Which one? I used two different posters (both can be found with google's image search), the rest of the pictures is from the RPG manual.

  • @Omsbon THERE'S A MANUAL?! Where can I get one?

  • @Compert123 It's in Russian, so unless you're fluent in it, it will be next to useless for you. But there's also a Small Arms Review pdf describing the RPG. Check the description, I've added some links.

  • i still have my rpg training manual from when i was in polish army, alot of people dont know unlike american anti tank rockets like the LAW, the RPG warhead actually flies into the wind stead of with the wind, i love my manual, it shows that a trained man can hit a target witha rocket, not like those point and shoot clowns.

  • @Marh044 What the fuck are you talking about "into the wind stead of with the wind"?

  • @RUBIZEN when a rpg warhead is fired it flies into the wind instead of aginst it, so you do not compensate for wind the same way. Example: if the wind is blowing left the rocket will fly into the wind right, so instead of compensating for wind drift like you would say a LAW or a bullet is the opposite, i know it has from what i remember has to do with the rotation and aerodynamics but still was like wtf.

  • @Marh044 Example: a apc is moving left to right with light wind blowing from the left of the target, you would not need to much compasation for the moving apc (leading) because the warhead would move couter to the wind, paradox but hey.

  • @Marh044 You make no sense in any of your posts. The RPG and LAW rockets have no computers or any tracking sytem. How would these rockets fly into the wind.

  • @RUBIZEN the rpg has a scope for aiming and if you dont have a scope it has ironsights.

when a warhead is fires it releases fins to stabilize it and its flight path flies into the wind instad of aginst it as it travels unguided to the target.

  • @Marh044 Look at what you are writing. Flying "against the wind" is the SAME as flying "into the wind". The RPG has no guidance mechanism. This means the wind WILL have an effect on the rocket. Yeah I know it has fins to stabilize it but the rocket will be shifted by the wind as it flies. The fins "drag stabilize" the rocket keeping the front pointed toward the target. The shooter has to take wind into account when aiming this rocket just like the LAW and the AT-4.

  • @RUBIZEN

    @Marh044

To end your discussion: Yes, wind makes the grenade change its course in the same direction from where the wind is blowing. This is because the wind pushes the tail aside, thus making the warhead pointing into the wind. Since the sustainer motor is still active, the grenade actually flies against the wind. Still, the grenade does not auto-compensate the wind force, so you have to use the scope markings to counter the effect. It's all in the manual.

  • @Marh044 trust me i have the rpg 7 manual (polish army when i was in service) it counter rotation makes it so it flies opposite to the wind direction, sigh just look up the manual on google its probably there and you will see its true.

  • не бросать если не выстрелил! прикол!

  • "Yes, now my plan is finished ">:D

  • Министерство обороны СССР

    ..............

    Ручной противотанковый гранатомёт

    И дальше всё на английском!?

  • @il2517 Для иностранцев сделано.

  • @Omsbon *feels confused* ?_?

  • Yo gotta hand it to the soviets, they sure have an impressive resume.

  • @grimofhell The soviets didnt invent the RPG, the Americans invented the first bazooka in WWII against tanks.

  • @TheDARIEN54321 lol I love how you pretend to know everything. The Soviet Union, under the Bazalt company's designs, developed the RPG in mid 1961. The Germans invented the 'panzerschreck' way before the Americans invented the bazooka. Once the Americans captured several units of the early 'panzerschreck', they developed an even better model, one with higher caliber and longer range, later on the Germans sought through this when they developed an enlarged version of their early models.

  • @grimofhell You have it mixed up. The Americans had the first bazooka, and the Germans copied it. Look, i have met many people on youtube who think they are historians, when i actually major in U.S. history. Please look it up for me.

  • @TheDARIEN54321 mhm you sure you major in history? your page looks rather childish. I major in sociology, not war history but be this as a fact, the RPG was indeed developed by the Soviets. One of the USSR's most distinguishing factors is that they had considerable large investments in their manufacturers, hence an impressive resume in terms of arms race; not to mention one of the most outstanding designers and engineer, Mikhail Kalashnikov.

  • @grimofhell My younger brother took over my youtube account when i went to college. I just recently came out, and am starting to slowly take it back. I didn't mean to say the RPG wasn't invented by the soviets, i know it was, it was just my tired mind got the RPG mixed with the bazooka. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • I got here from cat videos..

  • RPG-7: because throwing the grenade is just too much work

  • LOL I like the points of advice given near the end.

The only thing missing is: "if your RPG-7 still won't launch, please call your reseller and apply for a replacement unit or full refund."

Seriously, pretty nifty technology inside such a simple-looking weapon. But, to quote a famous American "black plane" builder, every weapon should adhere to the KISS principle.

    Keep It Simple Stupid

If you want an example of wasted taxpayers' money for a useless weapon, look up "Divad"

  • Simple, cheap and its works!

  • WOOO Command and conquer music awesome choice! :)

  • what is song name???

  • @ziiiilch C&C: Red Alert OST - Run

  • You forgot to explain the sequnce where the rocket is further "boosted" by the rocket motor. But this video was very detailed and helpful though!

  • @Northhunt I didn't. The rocket motor activation is mentioned in the delay element part.

  • @Omsbon Well, I still miss how the rocket motor propells the grenade, the rocket motors nozzle is not at the rear, as many people may think...

  • @Northhunt The nozzle is towards the front of the rocket but the jets still face to the rear. The high pressure gas is just piped forward inside the rocket body and exhausted out those vents.

  • @Northhunt for an excellent tutorial on the RPG, just google "Small Arms Review RPG-7" and their pdf should be first search hit.

  • @bottomshot :) I have allready read that one ages ago. I am actually referring to that article, and was using it as my source no.1 when I posted my first comment on ths video. The reason I posted the comment is not because I have a question about the functional system, rather beacuse; If one makes a video showing the how the RPG works, and which is allready well made and detail(All credits to you Omsbon), Including and fully explaining the rocket engine, should be alfa and omega ;)

  • How do people invent these things?!?!

  • @aleramone23 its actually rocket propelled grenade. but im wondering why its a "grenade" and not "rocket" what makes it a grenade if it acts the same as a rocket?

  • @1zacster A rocket is what you see in video games. The real-life counterpart is indeed a grenade with a rocket motor attached to it. The word "rocket" is used to describe the larger variants with a small (compared to the whole body) payload compartment. Besides, early RPG and Panzerfaust projectiles didn't have rocket motors, so the name "grenade" described them pretty accurate.

  • @Omsbon i see, its a grande with a rocket glued on the back, not part of it

  • so good!

  • it's a very complex mecanism, i tought it was a lot easier. very good video

  • It's funny how a wire mesh will defeat one of them shot at one of our tanks.

I wouldn't want to b in a hummer when one of them hits.

It sucks that every fuckin tally ban have one of them.

  • Very good vid

  • so technically shooting one at a wall won't blow up in my face? it has to go 11 meters?

  • @frankophonee No. 11 meters is the distance at which the sustainer motor is activated. That does not affect the fuze, which is armed after 2.5-18 meters.

  • @Omsbon still not a good idea :P

  • @xdazamx Didn't say it is.

  • @frankophonee actually the RPG-7 has to go 60ft before the fuse is activated. But still wouldn't be recommended to shoot one at close range lol

  • @BourneSupremecy As I already said, the distance varies between 2.5 and 18 meters, so 60 feet would be the most extreme distance. On most occasions, the fuze is activated much earlier. Watch the "failed rpg" video" (_4vOr4mBuZw).

  • Yeah I think I'm going to build one ,c'mon how complicated can it be ?

  • like knowing how things work..

  • cool lol

  • I feel like my computer is being monitored by homeland security for watching this video haha I'm just curious how it works Mr. Fed I don't plan on making one!

  • @engaurd just like how a kid with nothing to do in a tribal village rarely feels bored or is used to 1/2oz meals twice a

  • rpg-7v2 new russia

  • @engaurd ALAHAAKBARTRHGH... fuck that<~~ fuck the terrorists, stop shootin rpg-7s in the first place and we wouldnt have this fucking problem

  • @engaurd I didn´t say I like them...

  • Red Alert Retaliation song if anyone remembers!

  • RPG-7 is the most solid and reliable rocket launcher in history. It's not the Rocket Launchers fault that it can't penetrate modern armor it's the fucking rocket, Russia has developed new armor piercing rounds and better HE rounds for use on modern weaponry so the RPG-7 is still usable

  • @SMGJohn

Well, the way its used to take out tanks (ambush a tank in a tight street, aim for the top.) the normal rockets works quite well for it.

  • @SMGJohn completly agree

  • @SMGJohn RPG 7 can and will take out Abrams or any other tank if hit in a correct place be sure of that.

  • @Ouija1210 Yes, there is a round made specially for taking out modern battle tanks. It's not widely distributed though. It weighs over 10 pounds for one rocket and it flies almost like a mortar instead of firing straight because of weight. The rockets that insurgents use are very light 5 pound rockets. Can only take out bradleys and humvees. Still very cool and scary!

  • @SMGJohn "Don't fix what ain't broken." The rocket, while not entirely "broken," didn't do it's job. SO they just updated it. Because wasting money on R&D is for America.

  • The Somailis actually weld blast deflectors to the launchers so they could shoot up and not have the backblast burn their legs.

  • the music ... sounds like command and conquer xD

  • Russian music!

  • I've opened one of those rockets

    so many cool stuff inside!

    including a mechanical timer!

It took almost half a year of thinking to understand the system.

there were no internet those days to find out these things easily.

  • Talibans cut the safety to make the RPG air burst, making it more useful against helicopters. Crafty buggers.

  • cool
