  • wow she handled that like a boss, Just clicked off the pump and laid it on the ground, sweet!

  • This is why you never jump in and out of your car while pumping gas.

  • so lucky

  • Free energy can change the world! But the Big corporations spend millions to ensure that information does not spread to the masses,Get the blueprints for a real Magnet motor free enegy machine at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,The revolution begins!

  • And to think they used to have gas ovens in kitchens!?

    What were they thinking?!

  • aqui se puede ver lo delicado que es cargar gasolina....cualquier cosa puede causar un incendio......

  • She was extremely lucky.

  • must be a woman

  • When she went back inside the car and moved around the interior is when she developed the electrostatic charge. When she touched the fill nozzle, the spark ignited the fumes. The rubber tires of the vehicle insulate it from ground and many person's shoes will isolate them from dicharging. The difference in electrical potential can reach 30,000 volts of low-current static electricity.

  • damn i dont think she was smokin i think its just static. i alwasy hear about it but never see itheppanin

  • 0:54 she is smoking

  • haha, she tried to blow it out at 1:03 xD

  • IT'S A WOMAN!!!

  • yes it is a woman. who do you expect?

  • hi 5 to your one

  • i would have given it one good squirt to see how good a gas pump actually is at being a flamethrower

  • cual electricidad estática ni ocho cuartos la muy imprudente se esta fumando un porro en pleno grifo hay que ser bien falto de atencion para ponerle ese titulo a este video.

  • It wasn't the cellphone, she re-entered the car while fueling, which resulted in a static charge built up in her body. Thats why it lit the moment she touched the nozzle.

Those warning signs at gas stations are for a reason.

  • THANK YOU damn, I see so many people ignore these signs and then they'll go '...OH DANG...I"M ON FIRE!"

it's a little irritating seeing these people and if you try to tell them to stop they just laugh at you.

    morons.

  • Nice job putting it out. She didn't panic her reaction was great.(for a girl..:) my wife will blow the place up for sure!!

    p.s

I think its her shirt that create the spark 1:01

  • No, it was the mobile phone while she's talking inside the car. When you go out the car, you have to touch a metal to discargue the static electricity, and nothing happends.

  • agreed, it was the polyester shirt, she was rubbing the sleeve against the bottom of it thus creating the spark

  • Either her sweater or she lit up a smoke and had it in her hand as she adjusted the nozzle.

  • static energy bitch!

  • it does'nt matter if u pull it out or notn as long as u turn it off the gas tank will not explode since it is vented they only blow up if they are not vented she did the smart thing she clicked it off and pulled it out most explosions are caused because people freak and leave the nosel in and pumping instead of turning it off or they pull it out wile it is still pumping and the gas goes every were on fire and catches the car on fire

  • why do so many people feel the need to make racist or sexist comment for the actions of a single person? who's more ignorant here?

  • If you don't believe me, see the "Gas Pump Explosion Caused By Static Electricity" video.

  • I for one believe you. I worked for Chevron for years. Number one rule DON'T PULL THE NOZZLE OUT! Shut the pump off by hitting the emergency shut off switch (if it hasn't already been done by the attendant). And GET AWAY.

  • If you pull it out and it's still pouring, you will have an instant flame thrower. Plus, you can allow even more air into your tank, perpetuating the burn. I work for the Irving Oil corperation, FYI.

  • NO, SHE WAS NOT SMART!!

NEVER REMOVE THE FUCKING NOSLE. You Run Away.

Her sweater created a static shock, which wouldn't have happened if she had kept her hand on the handle, like you're supposed to do. And if you read the signs, you are to walk away.

  • That was one smart cool headed girl there. It happened, she reacted, removed the threat and got away. This could have been a lot worse if she just freaked out and ran away.

  • This is why i am afraid of pumping gas specially with my babies in the back seat!!

  • this was in OK, its famous for it

  • It is common for a woman to reach back into the car to get a bag or wallet we don't all have everything in our back pocket.Ithink the person was very lucky I'm a person who cannot even touch the ignition key without getting a shock,I can only close the door using the glass in the window, it is a real worry.

  • why do people keep posting how dumb americans are when this is posted in spanish?most americans don't due that,i know it wasn't her that posted this but i'm guessing it wasn't an american gas station

  • well I don't know in spain but here in Mexico I think that there are few or any stations like this one (with that I am not saying that the US people are lazy, I like americans! my aunt is american and that's all) XD I found this video because I have to do an experiment for scient and technology week :S

  • they really should ban those automated gas pumps, its completely dangerous. they dont have them in the UK , i mean how lazy are americans that they cant stand for what 10-20 seconds??

  • Why do a lot of people get back in their car when they are filling up the tank! Damn. That's the principal cause of gas station fire. Plus, DONT FUCKEN REMOVE THE PUMP FROM THE CAR, that would feed the fire. It didnt do that in this case, I guess that dumbass was pretty lucky.

  • womans...

  • Thank you for posting this up. You don't know how many of us fuel attendants have the sort of problem where people just don't believe us when we say this WILL happen.

  • if you guys gonna look karefuly she is smok the sigaret

  • ja00aj0a0ja

    no la cuenta dos veces

    jajaja

  • what a dumb fucking retard. first off, dont go BACK IN YOUR CAR... stay there with the pump... second: dont be a dumbass and run from it, thatll only cause more problems... wow roflmfao. thats how sad americans are.

  • I have to disagree with how you criticize her for running away from the car. I think that was the best thing for her to do, because her life is more important than the car. The only mistake she made was building up an another charge from where she went to sit in the car for the 2nd time, and did not discharge herself before dealing with the gas. If it was me, I'd leave the car to find a fire extinguisher to put the fire out, or alert the gas station clerk.

  • that's crazy...

  • lesson 1: always keep your hand on your car when refueling!!! static electricity will be there

  • I swear it looked like she sparked up a cigarette, or is that just me?

  • Yeah, looks like she did light up cig but left it in a car after one drag. I think static electricity caused it.

  • i leave it...

  • Static electricity is still real electricity!

  • Quite lucky that she did not detonate the gas station. That is a lesson learned for her, NEVER TURN ON YOUR CAR WHEN FUELING UP, OR LEAVE IT ON!

  • what are you talking about leaving her car on didnt do that, it was her going back into her car building up static and the arcing it when she went to grab the handle

  • You're right, though she never grabbed the handle after she got out of the car for the second time. Only once the fire started did she grab the handle for the second time. Thanks for the correction though.

  • Danwinsor didn't say that she grabbed the handle -- he said that she "went to grab the handle."

  • correction made

  • Her mistake was getting back in the car. Who leaves their door open anyway when you fuel up?

The dude who said she's a dumbass and that you're not supposed to turn your motor off when you fuel up... OMG!

  • notice how she wasa rubbing her clothes

  • se debe de instruir a las personas, no solo en ingles sino en todos los idiomas acerca de la electricidad estatica y del uso de celulares en las gasolineras, bien por el comentario de 73jj3na

  • its just Static electricity ppl. thats why there are warning signs at gas stations saying "Discharge any static electricity built up. Do not re-enter your vehicle to avoid the build up of static electricity"

  • shes a dumb ass ur not supost to turn ur car off while ur gettin gas

  • yes, you are lol!

  • oh man !!!!!

  • this sexy redhead used to work at the olive garden there, she's a fukn hottie.

  • yes she did

  • She did the totaly wrong thing , if your car catches on fire while fuling up , run , don't take it out.

  • I hope she was punished accordingly for the damage she did.

  • you fuckin dumbass she could have been killed. shut the fuck up you dumb fag

  • no shit

  • hey lets leave the car on. idiot.

  • This is why women should not be allowed to drive.

  • wow that is totally not sexist in any way

  • Turn on your TV sometime and see how sexist WOMEN are against men. I could give less of a fuck what some HYPOCRITES think.

  • Yes but not all women think like the crazy women they put on tv...but wateva u say.

  • Crazy women? They're just actors. The shit disturbers here are the screenwriters. They know that sexism against men sells product to women. And unfortunately it also encourages more sexism against men, because people tend to think roles portrayed on TV are accurate reflections of what life is and should be like.

  • dumbass mexicans...

  • wow that is totally not racist in anyway

  • this was on Mythbusters :o

  • LoL. I work at a Mobil in MA. It's a Self and Full serve. Everyday there are people that start their pump up and walk away into the store. I just look at them like "what the fuck, you stupid fuckball." Everyday I hve to deal with morons like them. Im 19, I don't feel like blowing up in a big firey inferno. So what do? I go over to their pump, Shut the nozle off at like $8 lol then shut the dumbasses car off. They come back from the store with their stupid knick knacks sayin "wow done already!

  • Eletricidade estatica, provocada pelo tecido do banco dos automóveis.

  • lol she walks away

  • U kno what she was rubbing in the car? SHe had to pull her shirt down?

  • NEVER GO BACK IN YOUR CAR WHEN YOU TANK IT

    electrostatic + fuel = BOOM

  • Are people THAT lazy that they can't stand and hold the trigger of the nozzle all by themselves for a whole 15 seconds while they fill up? Serves her right for being lazy. That side trip back into her car got her all nice and static charged...just in time for a date with a non-grounded piece of metal filled with gasoline. She should stick to Full Serve stations

  • She should stay off the fuckin' road, period. I mean not even fuckin' walk.

If she wants to make herself a tribute to Darwinism, that's good for her, but I don't want any part in it!

  • You retard! It wasnt a smoke, it was electrostatic!

  • The classic scenario:

Petrol car, putting the nozzle in, lock in on automatic, and get back in the car to may be write down the milage. Get back out heavily charged, wanting to take nozzle out, spark, petrol fumes catch fire.

  • Interesante el video

  • apparently most of these fires occure when the customer returns to his/her car (charges up the old static)and returns and touches (discharges static)the nozzel.

  • im glad in Mexico we don't have self-serve stations and all of our gas dispatchers wear special anti-static, flame retardant, ugly looking working suits...

  • Because the mexicans are ignorants. no one know use a gas pump. only the clerk of gas station.

  • thats a white red neck chick I tell u what "ohuck"

  • All members of the public, firefighters, and emergency personnel-The `establishment` has failed in their duty to tell you of this.. Google paddyanddollydotnet and read FIREBURN MEDIA ALERT and tell all your friends

  • waht a retard, EVERY 1 should know never go into your car while pumping gas, the car seats cause static electricity, so duh..

  • she handled that very well

  • Never pull the nozzle out. Leave it in and call the attendant for help. She was lucky she didn't get a face full of gasoline.

  • And we were unlucky she didn't. Natural selection failed her... this time.

  • Im not sure why it cought fire. All i know is that you gotta stay unstatic so your car wont explode while you put the gasoline. Its happen befor and they tested it even to make sure.

  • her blouser was maybe polyester and she didn't think that she caused statistic electric

  • yet another reason why you do not leave the pump while refueling.

  • I heard it explained on a TV program. The type of sweater she had on was prone to static electricity build up. When she sat in the car it caused her to pick up a charge in comparison to the pump handle. When she got near it, there was a spark. Similar to walking on a carpet and touching a light switch. Then the gas caught on fire.

  • What an idiot.

  • Well I bet that scared her ^^

  • Cell phones DO NOT SPARK, that was static electricity

  • her blouser was maybe polyester and she didn't think that she caused statistic electricity

  • that was poo

  • Yeah, they did experiments on Brainiac on Sky One (UK channel), and they couldn't get any mobile phones to cause a fire/explosion with petrol. They did do it however with static electricity from clothing (safely). Clothes are more dangerous than mobile phones.

She was quity risky removing the nozzle. In the UK you must squeeze the lever constantly to operate the pump, maybe that would've helped prevent the nozzle continue to burn?

  • She isn't even on a cellphone nobhead, and even if she was it wouldn't cause a fire. It was typical electrostatic discharge. It happened in France 2003.

  • her blouser was maybe polyester and she didn't think that she caused statistic electricity

  • Yo emito descargas electricas. Soy un peligro en una gasolinera.

  • her blouser was maybe polyester and she didn't think that she caused statistic electricity

  • no really?

  • fuck you queer

  • Real Smart! Besides wearing a jersey that captures the static electricity and talking on your cell phone while refueling, didn't you want to smoke a cigarette Jackass??
