  • in uruguay are exctincted

  • There was one of these guys in a zoo in Baja Ca, in 1987 I'll say this zoo is north and east of San Jose Del Cabo. Yes there is a zoo in Baja. There was also a sick lion. I took lots of pics. It was eating a nice lunch of fresh meat so the pics look nice.

  • Fact: Jaguarundis are the only feline capable of producing techno music from birth. (All the others have to practise)

  • It looks like a cat with an otter cat head <3 I never heard of these things, they seem so ADORABLE! ^^ you have your own mini otter cat! Cotter! Ottat

  • can they be domesticated? (not saying I want to)

  • @mrxxbrian I would not call any cat domesticated. These two are tractable, which means easily managed by those who know how.

  • @mrxxbrian In the 70's my parents had one of those as a pet (mind that they live in Brazil, where these are common), unleashed and uncaged, so I would say yes.

  • cool

  • estas madres yo no las conocia

  • I have done a rpeot on these animals, they are wonderful, awesome, amazing creatures.I love their diffrent look.

Thank you for posting this amazing video.

  • their nickname is the "otter cat"

  • are these rare kind of cats ?

  • I would say obscure is a better word than rare. They're the most obscure of the medium-sized felines in the Americas.

  • They are pretty common in South America, but many people in North America have never heard of them. They are known as an "Old World Cat" due to the genetics of this species. They have more chromosones than other South American Cats.

  • @Caracalover in a way they kind of resemble the bornean bay cat. do you agree?

  • @yutzy1 Too hard for me to say, since I have only seen a photo of a Borneo Bay Cat.

  • @yutzy1 You didn't ask me but I totally agree, the Jaguarundi and the Borneo Bay Cat especially look alike in the face and looking at 2 individuals that are the same color helps. The Jaguarundi is stockier and has shorter legs though. :o)

  • @tarmizi2005

this are very very rare to find in NA ... im from nothern mexico and here we call it onza real ... iv never seen one in person but iv heard them at night near a river .

mexican leyends say that this cat is able to move in for the kill ( in this case small children ) with out having to touch the ground ( that they can leap long distances ) and i bet they do , if i ever see one , ill call DISCOVERY CHANNEL . i think is the only animal they have not taped in the wild im not sure.

  • @tuttoz If you heard them, why not call Discovery ? :D these cats are very unique by the way...

  • @tarmizi2005

well , people have tryed .

im froma small town called muzquiz , coahuila .

we also have a special type of (blind) catfish found only in our caves and aquaducts , the french go all the time , i guess DC just dosnt have enough people to go around and investigate .

  • This music perfectly fits the JAGUARUNDI! Every time I see a Jaguarundi (which is all the time, they seem to be everywhere) this is the music that pops into my mind.
