  • I would totally stop by your table!

  • This is great. But I think the costume turns people away more than the idea of playing. I get the love for dramatics, I've been know to throw on a cape every now and then. But if your trying to attract new players who have never played before you should just wear normal clothes. LOVE the d20 necklace though! I've wanted one of those for some time now, just can't find one that isn't stupidly expensive or crappy looking.

  • Very rad. I wish someone did that near me.

  • I was thinking on doing something this, But sadly its winter, so ill end up playing in the spring in downtown winnipeg, come join us sometime if your headed to your northern neighbour.

  • I wanna play!!!

  • I wish the video was more about playing and less about people walking away. I actually said, "oooh, fiendish tyrannosaurus" out loud. I know a DM who wears a hood like that, but not the face mask. -val

  • This is so awesome,

Interesting to you maybe, if you go to the average goth festival you will find people roleplaying, though in general it's a lot of white wolf games, but still I suppose it counts...

  • Hell, it's about time. I would love to play with you on the streets, but I'm in sweden soo. XD sry

  • Love it. This idea is the best thing since "Free Hugs"! And it warms my heart to see people jumping in and playing. But it looks like your players have all played before, and it's not really exposing newbies to D&D. I think the Mortal Kombat-esque costume really puts people off. It makes it seem like either you're crazy, or having a joke at their expense. Why not try it in regular clothes?

  • come to a small town called Lemoore, CA

    im down to play hahaha

  • I play D&D but think that this is part of the reason why it's stigmatised. you have a wierdo dressed up like a firiken wizard spouting messages about how great D&D is, if you see someone dressed like a moron on the street preaching about watever your going to ignore him and berate whatever it is he's on about

  • i like too play it too but nobody like too play it with me

  • @tiespies50 I play with you. I am a Game master for a large group of 12 players. Sometimes I need an vice GM to support me whit the rule books wile I lead the story telling for the players. But you need to come to sweden for that XD

  • this is freaking awesome-Im sharing this with everyone

  • "There are no limits in Role Playing Games...Except the rules!"

    I lul'd at that.

  • Lose the outfit and just smile alot. You'll get more players. I had to stop playing way back because too many players were taking it to far...it's a game...not a lifestyle. The lifestyle folks just push out the normal gamer crowd.

  • thats amazing

  • Supercool, but why did the DM hide his face?

  • Once you got that first guy to sit down, it suddenly seemed like everyone wanted to join in. This video makes the nerd in me very pleased. Well done.

  • I wish i was there.... I woulda played... I have a D20 necklace just like you. X3.

  • What a neat idea!! I bet it was much harder getting people to play given how rediculous you were dressed, but I bet the game was still fun.

  • epic win man, epic win.

  • Pretty cool, I am not a big fan of 4th edition, but have wanted to give it a shot. If your ever in Toronto, give me a shout! Assuming I don't have school that day, would love to play some, I'll bring extra dice ^^

  • haha this was pretty sweet

  • It appears you used characters out of the Manga in order to make your characters. What classes did you give them?

  • @firedark347 There were 10 pregen characters. I posted six of the character stats on the King of RPGs website -- do a search for "D&D". The others were characters who appear in volume 2.

  • omg i have that dinosaur model

  • I smiled like a little school girl when everyone joined. :)

  • THERE ARE NO LIMITS IN ROLE PLAYING GAMES..... except the rules...

  • I would've stopped in a fuckin' heartbeat to play. Coulda made 2 phone calls and had the other seats filled in 15 minutes. Buncha friends that live right by the M line woulda come running.

  • I would have so skipped work and played.

  • If i was there i so would have played! i swear!

  • It would be excellent to see you here in my city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Go to AMKE's website. It is Anime Milwaukee, the convention of Milwaukee started at the University, it would be awesome to have someone like you visit.

  • The closest I have done to this is playing in the dorms in the cafeteria during the largest traffic levels. I will have to do this again. Running a game of epic proportions!

  • Wow, that is awesome, congratulations on the achievement, You earnestly need to start traveling from town to town doing just this. It would be interesting

  • Absolute awesome!

  • I approve

  • dnd is awsome it be awsome if youd come to my town

  • come to Madrid!! we'll play with you to d&d !!! awesome

  • its stupid that sooo many people think dungeons and dragons is for kids and that its for geeks.

    Dungeons&Dragons is awesome.

my friend told me i had to play it at least once. well... i fell in love with it when i played it for the first time.

  • I have to commend you for doing this. I had always wanted to do that, but never would of had the guts especially to the extent you reached out to educate people and your costume. Market Street is great, but it looks like it was windy, and of course there's a lot of weirdo's on market Street. Good job!

  • You let me know where and when, not only will I show up, I will bring my friends :D

  • how many players did you have that day? do you remember? looks like you had some playing, come on down to Independence Missouri, I'll play with you, i usually up for pnp action... take care man, keep on gamin'

  • Come to Seattle!!

  • SAN DIEGOOO

  • I think the costume was probably a bad idea...lol

I gotta do that some day.

"there are no limits....except the rules"....roflmao

  • man that takes alot of guts to do! which although is scary as hell makes you wanna do it. And goodness it must have difficult to shout over passing cars and buses while trying to teach people about the game. Respect!

  • right around the corner from where I worked, wished I'd have left the office that day.

  • Jason, like a fine wine, only gets better with time.

  • Awesome. I have DMed for awhile now, but I've never attempted anything like that.

  • Pure epic.

  • Too bad it was 4th ed. Other wise good for you!! keep it up!

  • Hehe,I hate 4th edition...It's just made to make combats over combats...I prefer when it's 50/50(roleplay and combats)...

  • That's cartoonist Jason Shiga (BOOKHUNTER, DOUBLE HAPPINESS) at 3:07!

  • This is so great! Thank for educating people about this awesome hobby. I'm thoroughly convinced that if more people just simply tried tabletop roleplaying, it would become enormously more popular.

  • I don't usually comment, but your video is too good to pass on. So many people walking by and ignoring you, oblivious to the game and head full of misconceptions. D&D makes us interact with each other, something that people are now doing less and less of. Thanks

  • @sboxjunk Or maybe they were on their way to do something and couldn't be bothered? It's not like people just walk around looking for random DnD games in the street

  • Awsome idea, kudos, but he should choose a decent roleplaying game to run.I understand it is Deee and Deee! but there are far better gaming choices than to be Hasbro's tool.If he is going to be a commercial I hope he gets paid someday.

  • I signed in to my YouTube account for the first time in YEARS, just to comment on your video. That was a very cool thing you did. Brave as hell, too, I might add. Good show, man...good show.

  • Kick ass dude.

  • that is a awesome idea to bad am not a good dm but i no some people

  • Oh man, I bet I know people back in Minneapolis who'd try this if they saw this vid. I'd love to see it in action.

  • Love it! And an honorary mention of WOW. Go, Jason! Can't wait to read the manga. Can I get a comp? Can I steal a comp from you?

  • hahaha Great vid!

  • A little intense there, but cute. :3

  • Hell yeah I'd play! I wish this guy would come to my city.

  • Even though MtG is more of not really an RPG, but it's still epic!

  • I would play, hell I wanna play D&D and MtG now.

  • I would play!

  • Bro, please come to nyc...lol I would play

  • I want to play. I can be anything? I want to be a dolphin and a giraffe, and a rocket ship.

  • Lol come to London!

  • Wooohooo ! This video is superb, I love it.

  • And the Tokyo! I would totally play.
