Well done from your friends in Australia. We each need to start our own - for the lack of a better word, Political groups in each country of the world. And run for the control of government positions and take the world back from within, using their own platform of power. WE HAVE THE RIGHT AND THE ABILITY. If we all do it, it becomes safe. I'm not waiting till its safe, I and others like myself are starting now. Under A Resource Based Economy, we can set the world free. "SO SAY WE ALL".
Did you look at the problem deep enough or it is just a switch of patterns in your behavior. Do you understand that your refusal is a violent reaction? By the way...i see you're smoking....now that is a reason for you to be terrified.
If you want real change based on empiricism, read practical anarchy by Stephan Molyneux, free online.
TVP, and its Zeitgeist movement are doing a great job at exposing the sickness of our world, but their solution cannot work because people don't like living under centrally controlled environments.
Money will always exist, anything you can trade is it. TVP can't give us everything so it's insane to say we can get rid of money, it just represents the value of your item. It's not the problem
@GtheMVP 'If you want real change based on empiricism, read practical anarchy by Stephan Molyneux, free online.'
thanks! i shall. i've been gaining a lot of interest in anarchist philosophy lately. i see tvp and tzm as essentially anarchist in their operation anyway, since their is no system of authority outside of the physical laws of nature.
'TVP, and its Zeitgeist movement are doing a great job at exposing the sickness of our world,'
@GtheMVP 'but their solution cannot work because people don't like living under centrally controlled environments.'
it's not really a centrally controlled environment, that's an over-simplification of what we advocate. we simply acknowledge that our planet is finite, and that we cannot continue on an infinite growth paradigm, hence, we basically advocate 'off the grid' cities that are as self-sufficient as possible, and then networking these cities for ease of resource sharing. (cont'd)
@GtheMVP (cont'd) and distribution, to eliminate overruns and shortages. so it is more of a global network of independant city-environments. there is no central command center or unit that decides people's lives for them. it's basically a glorified calculator for us to track resources without the need for money.
'Money will always exist,'
that's strange, it didn't always exist in the past, why assume it will continue to exist forever?
@GtheMVP 'Once someone had something someone else didn't have, it became money.
We can never go back to that simplistic time period'
Nor do I suggest it. I suggest strategic resource and good access to eliminate the situation of anyone ever having more access to goods than anyone else. the psychological benefits of this alone on society would be staggering.
while people may still carry and trade small personal items, trade would basically be unnecessary in a rbe, as it is a system based on universal access.
@saydaysago2008 Universal what? People can't have access to everything, thast's the communist promise. A RBE is learning to live without, and I don't want to wait in line for stuff I'd like to have access to
What you're advocating has never been proven, and as a movement that constantly cites the scientific method, it's centrally based on unproven ideas.
You need to prove something, a model city perhaps, proof? Stop talking talking out of your collective behinds.
@GtheMVP 'Universal what? People can't have access to everything, thast's the communist promise. A RBE is learning to live without, and I don't want to wait in line for stuff I'd like to have access to'
Again, resources and technology on this planet is so amazing, so plentiful, that only the rarest of goods would you have to 'wait in line for'. Name me one basic need or even 'western world' want that couldn't easily be provided to every person on the planet today using strategic production.
@GtheMVP 'What you're advocating has never been proven, and as a movement that constantly cites the scientific method, it's centrally based on unproven ideas.'
It is based on an empirical train of thought. No, the ideas haven't been tested. That is exactly what we are advocating. Putting these (and every other) idea to the TEST. Using science to figure out what actually works best. If we are wrong about 80% of what we say, we can re-orient in the direction that science takes us.
@GtheMVP You need to prove somthing, a model city perhaps, proof? Stop talking out your collective behinds'
I agree with you, and trust me, as soon as it's possible, we will be building a research facility/test city. Hoever, we are not talking out our behinds. Your just being insulting for the sake of it. As I said, all of our exrapolations are based on currently available technology and scientific data. Yes, they need to be tested, but it's far from ass-talking.
@saydaysago2008 It is ass talking because there's zero proof we can,or would want to live like that. The technology does not exist, though it will if we want it, but will people work towards it without the profit incentive?
Anyways, you are right about one thing, and that this movement is voluntary, and I am 100% for peaceful volunteerism. If a bunch of people want to shoot for a RBE, have at her, just expect that people won't.
Big release tonight, looking forward to seeing it!
@GtheMVP again, ass talking would be based on nothing, or wild speculation, our ideas are based on a logical train of thought. they are a valid hypothesis that needs to be tested, not some wild unsubstantiated theory. the new movie gives much evidence as to why humans could adapt to live like that, because we are very adaptable, and as for ppl wanting to live like this.. who the fuck wouldn't? never having to work, but being able to contribute as much as you'd like? where's the downside?
@GtheMVP regarding volunteerism.. i'm right with you. i think ppl should have the right to make decisions away from the brainwashing machine of our current advertising culture, but as for supporting our direction, that's anyone's choice, and i have no expectations either way. things are as they are, i can't do MUCH to change them.
@saydaysago2008 that response sums up everything in our dialogue, we can't argue against peaceful collaboration, just so long as we don't force anything onto anyone. We both want peace and equality
@willywillyization It's not about the profict incentive, it's about central planning, and our innability to do so. If you understand Mises economic calculation problem, you'll see that we can't allocate resources without price, it's just not possible at this point. This isn't a cpu speed thing either. We can't predict how 1000 people will handle a pile of logs, just imagine 6 billion and trillions of diff reosources, combo's are beyond limitless.
@GtheMVP the economic calculation problem is really ridiculous. it is a basic assertion that resource production can never be determined without price, as if price is some magic tool that can never be replaced. when mises wrote about 'the economic calculation problem' he never imagined the possible ways of resource tracking and distribution we have today. its not just about cpu speed, no, it's about a brand new way to track and balance supply&demand.
@saydaysago2008 If you have a better way of tracking and allocating resources than price, then tell us. Anyone who understands the economic calculation problem is more than likely an empiricist like me, I'm always ready tp proven wrong
Just saying you can do it isn't proving anything, you need some actual empirical data to back up claims. RIght now TVP is based on assumption, that's the only fact I can see around here.
@GtheMVP i would say hypothesis moreso than assumption. it's based on a rational, empirical line of thought. but of course, like any hypothesis, needs to be tested, i agree. i just think throwing 'the economic calculation problem' around for every system that doesn't use price regardless of the new methods used to replace price is a little silly. if anything, the idea that price is this mystical, insurmountable ultimate reality, is quite the assertion.
@GtheMVP even mises realized it didn't apply in all situations, he talked of small communal tribes in which price would be unnecessary, not realizing that in the future the ability to do the same thing these small tribes do, but on a global level, would exist. I mean, hat we have is almost like the jetsons compared to the world mises knew. he never considered the possibilities of true abundance of life-needs, and he didn't know the bio-psycho-social nature of the human animal's behavior.
@GtheMVP 'TVP can't give us everything so it's insane to say we can get rid of money'
'everything'? no, we can't do that. all of our core human life needs (from food and shelter to education and recreation? yes, we can provide that. you don't need to give people EVERYTHING to get rid of money. people don't want everything, they jsut want what they need when they need it.
@GtheMVP 'it just represents the value of your item.'
the problem is that money has become decoupled from any true physical item-value. of course, we could correct this, and only print money in proportion to the amount of goods and services available, but this would not solve the problems of differential advantage, inequality, and all the social, mental, and physical health risks associated with inequality. those can only be eliminated by ridding ourselves of the market system.
@saydaysago2008 Money, like a gun, is not the problem, people are the problem. Poverty was on the decline in the US, steadily, until the government introduced the welfare program, now we have a class stuck in a rut of government dependance.
The free market system is the only proven path to prosperity, your RBE is based on zero evidence, it's nothing but a technocracy without scientitsts running the show. Jaques is still a technocrat at heart.
money? no, money is something we made up. the problem is our FAITH in money-value overriding our very real life-needs in almost all sectors of the world.
@RyanPaulFranklin I think you're a little confused (or I am), a resource based economy does not advocate unconditional based income. In fact, it eliminates income from the picture altogether.
In a resource based economy, all the earth is declared the property, or heritage of the every person on it, goods are made in proportion to demand, and made available for people's access, whenever they need them. Which menas they don't have to technically 'own' anything, just have access to it.
Amazing video! But the smoking is a bit silly. To me, it shows nothing more than buying into an advertiser's message (that smoking is cool/independent/etc.), despite incredible evidence proving it is anything but.
@radicalnow you're completely right. I never quite thought of the smoking thing that way, but you've pointed out that I can be as brainwashed as anyone, just depends on what were talking about.
@saydaysago2008 quote"but you've pointed out that I can be as brainwashed as anyone, just depends on what were talking about. "The zeitgeist Movement probly done the brainwashing for you
ya they brainwashed me into thinking critically and never taking anyone's words at face value, even those promoted by the movement. they also brainwashed me into a state whereas I continuously want to learn new things and expand my understandings. they brainwashed me into being able to admit when I am wrong, allowing me to change.
they also turned me into a utopian nwo communist hippie who wants to take all of your stuff and start a fascist regime. so it's give and take.
@saydaysago2008 Yep. Pretty much invalidates anything that comes next in my book. If you haven't even got the wherewithal to control destructive cravings, why should anyone pay heed to your message. Sorry. Next.
ad hominum attack is when you use a personal attack on someone's character, for example, their bad habit of smoking, to invalidate their claims. common fallacy, but of course, as everyone knows, whether or not I smoke has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not anything I say is true or factual.
you want to know another bad habit I can't seem to stop? feeding the trolls...
@Knightinsf I don't need care and feeding. I just need people who want to be taken seriously on such serious matters to act like they give a shit about themselves. Both my parents died far too soon from smoking related illnesses and they always used the excuse that "no one knew it was bad for you." What's your excuse? And remember, I need no care and feeding. The question's rhetorical.
@Knightinsf dude, I've already said that I don't smoke, often, that I did it in the video for 'effect', which I now realize is kinda dumb, but whatever. I'm not asking for anyone to take me seriously, and again, whether or not I smoke means NOTHING.
Do you eat meat? Processed foods? Dairy? Those things cause more cancer and death than tobacco. If so, then you just proved you don't give a shit about yourself. and therefore everything you say is wrong? I'm still struggling with the logic here.
@saydaysago2008 I'm a vegetarian, limited dairy. Poor diet has eclipsed smoking as a major killer. I don't care as much as I should about my body but then, I'm not cutting into a steak "for effect" before presenting valid and critical points to the world. Glad to hear you are still struggling with the logic. That means the synapses are still firing and you are still engaged. I'm not looking to criticize you as a person but I am very put off by the lack of judgment you exercised.
@Knightinsf so you are saying that my lapse in judgement, my decision to record some video of myself smoking, and include it in what is essentially a personal statement about fear (yes, I see the irony), is such a horrendous lapse in judgement that you were left doubting whether my synapses were still firing? it put you off enough to comment that it "pretty much invalidates anything that comes next"?
you still haven't explained how one bad decision invalidates my message totally.
@saydaysago2008 And regrettably, no further elucidation will be forthcoming. You are addicted to the debate (aka responding to trolls). I'm only interested in the message, which was cluttered, for style or some reason that eludes me. You are speaking to a broad audience about a very important topic. To that extent and my final comment on the matter is to make fewer excuses or even amends for the artistic decision that warranted this thread or step up your game to enhance your legitimacy. C ya.
people asked why the smoking was in there, i explained my flawed reasoning. i wasn't trying to excuse it.
and yeah, i do get addicted to these little debates, another one of my flaws that I've already pointed out.
the main reason, this time around, for continuing to respond (as I often don't), was that I was hoping for some insight into how you justify condemning my message based on my smoking.
i'm a hypocrite, in more ways than one. he who is without sin cast the first stone.
@saydaysago2008 OK, just for the record, no harm, no foul. I think the messages about desire vs. fear (what ultimately is delineated by us as the more quaint notions of "love and hate") are very VERY important. It is a distinction I believe so powerful as to trigger a massive breakthrough and facilitate an awakening process. In the pure realm of desire and fear, there is no right or wrong, just being. Often, the image IS the message and people rarely delve deeper into more subtlety. (see part 2)
@saydaysago2008 (part 2) ...so, the first image is essentially "Joe Cool" lighting up. OK, no fear. I got it. We shortern our lives in lots of ways. But, that action--for me--because of my filter, because of the tragedies in my personal past--shows up as acquiescence to slavery and tho' you may not be "terrified", you would still--in my perception--be a willing slave. Slave to addiction, to a multi-national and very nefarious industry and to an indulgence that plunders and pollutes.
@Knightinsf thanks. that's all i was looking for. an explanation rather than an outright dismissal. because that's all i was trying to do, explain why i did what i did, not excuse it or somehow justify it.
Most post people were able to look past, or not think about the fact that I was smoking, and all that entails (you're whole post is completely true), but a few people weren't, and I am actually glad we kept the conversation up...I feel a lot better about it now, us understanding each other
@saydaysago2008 I'm very pleased that we came to an understanding (so hard to do in the rather benign environment of text only where inflection and empathy don't really factor in and thanks for pressing the issue to a satisfactory resolution. There is only desire and fear. Awareness of one's actions based upon that duality can make a huge difference in how one directs one's life. Live long and be well.
so THESE globalist land-lords THINK they own me? They dont OWN me....sure I may buy some of their goods....very little. I have always been humble at heart but WILL NOT allow them to take over MY THOUGHTS, MY LIFE. Others are MY life, this is difficult at times....but what I share with those around me, the gifts I give & am given....THEY can never buy. BEWARE you money changers for YOU are expendable and NEVER the love for each other can NEVER be bought and will NEVER die.
@OurLordLennon Well, they control the government, which controls the laws, which controls your behavior. They have partly succeeded in taking over people's thoughts through the mass media. You are right, the love for each other can never be bought. Money is a parasitic structure that FORCES people to take differential advantage over others. If that is not clear, every time you find a way to make more money, you do it at someone else's expense. All acts of monetary gain are a form of dishonesty.
Individuality is an illusion, we're all connected? SPoken like a true commie TVP drone. Hey, wanna put that theory to the test, take a gun and shoot yourself in the foot, if I feel it too, then you're right and we're really all connected. How about that?
Grow up man, forget that Leftist bullshit. Individuality is the greatest gift you have, don't throw it all away because of some old commie fart.
@GameSheriff Huh? Since when is a connection strictly limited to physicality? That was a lame example... Individuality is an oxymoron because no matter how different we are from everybody else, that's what we all have in common; is that we are all different. THUS, a connection. And I can think of many superior gifts I have aside from individuality. HAHAHAH.
@daylene4 well personally, I think our connection IS physical, we are connected to all living things through our interactions with the environment. we need plants to survive, etc, etc. I've never seen any proof of anything non-physical, so I couldn't ever say that it exists.
besides i never even said 'individuality is an illusion' (unless he dug it up from my blog or somewhere). We each have our individual subjective experience because of our individual brains. We're still all connected.
I can almost guarantee you that that woman was still emotionally suffering from whatever happened to her in her home country from which she immigrated. And that was the real cause for her crying. I don't know who you are, but I do know what you believe, and all i can tell you is get a goddamn grip.
@GameSheriff If you are right, ask why things are so bad in those countries? Because humans have yet to become unified and civilized. Because every single human person DOES NOT have FREEDOM (watch imprisonment pt1 to see what I mean by that). And until we solve that problem, people are going to be depressed, anxious, crazy, killers, rapists, etc, etc, etc. As for 'get a grip', you'd have to be more specific, but if there's anything you disagree with me on, I''l gladly discuss it.
@GameSheriff You don't know everything I believe from the 22 minutes of video Ive made. or even from my blogs. I don't believe anything, ever, but I try to understand as much as I can
You have no information on where this woman immigrated from and you're making blind assumptions. Not cool.
And no matter where she did come from, it doesn't matter, because the problems I want to fix are global, because we are one planet and one species and none of us can be truly free and happy until we all are
So I assume you know this woman intimately and can hence make whatever assumptions YOU want about why she was crying? Great. I don't know this woman specifically, but I have spoken to various immigrants before, specifically a few from Venezuela who came to the US to escape Chavez's chocking grasp, and almost all of them were haunted by the events that occured in their homeland, and in many cases, forced them to flee.
@GameSheriff well, your experience with venezuelan immigrants is moot, because the woman immigrated from a 1st world, european nation (to canada, remember, I don''t live in the USA). So this rules out the trauma of escaping socialism (actually she and her husband moved here to find work.. oil sands and all that).
@saydaysago2008 What's your experience in the subject matter? Absolutely none, you're making suppositions based on what you want to believe and nothing more.
@GameSheriff my experience is exactly what I said. I heard her saying she didn't understand, because her life was perfect, how she could just cry every morning. She had no idea why, was not in touch with her own emotions. Nobody, without maybe some real therapy could say for sure why she was crying. I didn't even state any assumptions in the video, I just said that her pain was justified, because no matter what the cause, there is a cause, and we (humans) should be trying to fix it.
@saydaysago2008 Like I said, you have absolutely no freaking idea what was upsetting this woman, why did you even bother mentioning her if you don't even know the cause for her crying, maybe it was something completely personal, maybe it didn't have anything to do with the world, the universe, or the goddamn cosmos.
@GameSheriff i mentioned it because the video is a personal statement about 'refusing to be terrified' in a world that promotes fear. the cause of her pain is irrelevant, i never made a point of it at all. i repeated what she said: she just moved here, she has a perfect life, shes confused why shes crying..
the point is that another human being was in pain and I felt for her. its about fear and love.
I think the cause of her pain is actually quite relevant, if she's just crying because o personal matters, and not because the evil capitalists are tearing the world apart and you Reds haven't been able to stop them, which I think was probably the reason, what why even bothering mentioning her? It's got nothing to do with anything.
@saydaysago2008 Regrettably, I know what you believe in all too well. I've seen some of my bestest friends, some of the people I cared for the most, fall prey to your little plot to brainwash Western youths into forsaking their values and turning to Marxism. It's incredibly to see good people being fed garbage by hypocritical, pseudo-intellectual know-it-alls like Joseph and Fresco, who don't have a clue about Humanity or human nature, and gobbling it up like it was chocolate.
@GameSheriff again, I don't 'believe' anything. ever. i try to understand as much as I can. I do promote a resource based economy because it's the best solution my understandings have led me to. you clearly don't understand the venus project at all, because you resort to straw man attacks (calling it marxism, which it clearly isn't), and personal attacks on joseph and fresco. you've made no point of any substance. if you wanna talk the real science on human behaviour, I'm perfectly willing
@saydaysago2008 And your definition of understanding is taking what some old Leftist-dictator wannabe who proclaims himself a scientist, yet doesn't know jack shit about Humanity or human nature and holding it above all else as absolute truth? All, again, because he claims to be a scientist.
If you think communism is the way to go, maybe you ought to crack open, you know, just about any History book and read about how it actually worked out for those who tried it..
@saydaysago2008 And just like you, Communism, when it was being preached it claimed it would end all those things...
Anyways, the existance of money is irrelevant, military and jails are a necessity, and the existance of government in your society is so obvious I'm not even gonna bother comment on how ridiculous the 'no government' part is.
@saydaysago2008 Whose science? Fresco's? Because you know, that's the only 'science' you people recognize. And that's not science, my friend, that's Leftist Bullshit cooked up by a dictator-wannabe control freak that's already been proven wrong time and again by History.
@GameSheriff when I talk about science, i talk about it in the way carl sagan used it. the search for truth, knowledge, by observing and finding facts. that's science.
@saydaysago2008 Actually no, I stand corrected, it WASN'T made up by Fresco, it was made by another guy in the 19th century, who was also a control freak, and calas cold-hearted murderer of innocent little children, who actually looked suspiciously like Fresco called Vladimir Ilych Lenin.
if you leave more comments on here I'll just leave it at that, you seem to want to throw shit more than discuss. if you want to have a serious, constructive talk on any subject send me a message, I'd love to talk to you without an audience for you to impress.
@saydaysago2008 I'm not trying to impress anyone, I'm just trying to knock some snese into you through some 'shock' therapy. You're going down a very bad road, forsaking Western society and turning to Marxism like that.
When I can afford to, I'd like to pay placement costs to have this be a commercial during the superbowl. Everyone with a TV really should take a view on this.
In my opinion, what we need to do here is follow Gandhis philosophy which is to be the change we want to see in the world. We don't need to come about this in any other way. Id like to be a part of a world that uses love for everything. Love is the key, its the secret of life.
@augustorcdoliveira love is definitely the key part of dealing with other humans, even with nature itself (because we are symbiotic, connected to nature), but LOVE will not solve technical problems. How do we feed the world? I mean, exactly how, blueprints, etc. We need engineers, technicians, designers, innovators to come together, in love, to use science to make this world a better place.
I dig your video, but if I may make a humble suggestion, try to quit smoking and supporting the death dealing industry of big tobacco... unless of course that is a medicinal joint then keep doing your thing. Just a thought.
@summershere i agree with you.. i'm more of a sometimes smoker (when I'm drunk). it was more for effect (me trying to look cool) in the video than anything else. i got kinda sick cause I had to smoke two in a row.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
zeitgiest IS A LIE--KNOW JESUS!!!!!! The same pagan / luciferian belief is what the top of the pyramid believe..bill cooper says global warming is a scam.. the Bible states that God will NEVER flood the earth again. I guess you guys are still believing Al Gore. Watch "new age infilltrates the truth movement" and even jesuit Jones' "Order of Death" EXPOSES you WANNABE WHITE MAGICK CHANTING TREE HUGGING YUPPIES/YIPPIES--- STOP LISTENING TO SATAN--THERE IS HOPE BUT ONLY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!!!!
@klepto0oe zeitgeist is a movie, a presentation of ideas. Jesus is not a person I can know, if he existed, he is dead.
The people at the top of the pyramid believe in money, I don't.
The bible was provably written and rewritten by men, like you or I, throughout our history. Its literal truth cannot be accepted because many facts have been proven wrong.
I don't believe Al Gore, I'm not sure about man made global warming, but I have my doubts. (cont'd)
@klepto0oe I don't believe in Lucifer, chanting, anything new age or supernatural.
I don't listen to Satan, I observe the universe, and our world.
There is hope only through building bridges, problem solving, and love. Not proselytizing and spreading fear, or making veiled threats that I must find hope through a dead man instead of assessing problems and finding solutions.
@saydaysago2008 You wouldn't happen to know what nation she came from specifically, because you know, Europe is really big and diverse, and living in say, Romania isn't the same as thing as living in the UK. Anyways, maybe someone has recently die and she is missing that person unconsciously? Maybe she had a childhood trauma she was remembering?
@klepto0oe , I'm tired of hearing you Christian snakes preach your poison and fear, shame on you. Excellent video @saydaysago2008, TZM can be the future if we work hard enough =)
@klepto0oe The Bible is mythology interpreted by tyrants to control and brainwash the unthinking masses. By your irrational statements you have proven my point.
@Velitaris ahaha the funny thing is you're completely right. i don't even really smoke... often. i had to smoke cigarettes two in a row to film myself for this and it almost made me throw up, all to ad some style... make myself 'look cool', as you say.
I know, I'm a vain douche just like everyone else.
@ZeitgeistMovementLV I agree, society IS a reflection of our collective inner selves, which, in turn, are a reflection of society. It's a cycle, one that can't really be broken and changed in an instant.
We can't expect people to be happy healthy contributing members of society until they are immersed in an environment that nurtures that type of behaviour.
We need to evolve, and being conscious allows us to do that. We can take control over ourselves and our environment, and our evolution.
@saydaysago2008 Because you know ANY OF THOSE is more likely than her being subcounsciously upset at the evil Western capitalists were ruining the world, and secretly yearning for world communism, like you guys propose. I don't really know why you mentioned this woman, but it was entirely pointless, like I said, you have absolutely no idea why she was upset, you're just throwing wild guesses in the air.
i do scared as hell..but not for that elitescum-vrigade that called them self powerfull...
i am scared that the people waiting and in my neihjbourhood people in my famelie ..say : i dont whant to hear such news and walk away...or ignore..and eben not only acept what it is now....now and mainstream news isnt going to say that,,and i hope that people are waking up to that black futurre if we silent watch and give it all away

'TVP, and its Zeitgeist movement are doing a great job at exposing the sickness of our world,'

saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GtheMVP 'but their solution cannot work because people don't like living under centrally controlled environments.'
it's not really a centrally controlled environment, that's an over-simplification of what we advocate. we simply acknowledge that our planet is finite, and that we cannot continue on an infinite growth paradigm, hence, we basically advocate 'off the grid' cities that are as self-sufficient as possible, and then networking these cities for ease of resource sharing. (cont'd)
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GtheMVP (cont'd) and distribution, to eliminate overruns and shortages. so it is more of a global network of independant city-environments. there is no central command center or unit that decides people's lives for them. it's basically a glorified calculator for us to track resources without the need for money.
'Money will always exist,'
that's strange, it didn't always exist in the past, why assume it will continue to exist forever?

@saydaysago2008 Once someone had something someone else didn't have, it became money.
We can never go back to that simplistic time period

@GtheMVP 'Once someone had something someone else didn't have, it became money.
We can never go back to that simplistic time period'
Nor do I suggest it. I suggest strategic resource and good access to eliminate the situation of anyone ever having more access to goods than anyone else. the psychological benefits of this alone on society would be staggering.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GtheMVP 'anything you can trade is it.'
while people may still carry and trade small personal items, trade would basically be unnecessary in a rbe, as it is a system based on universal access.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 Universal what? People can't have access to everything, thast's the communist promise. A RBE is learning to live without, and I don't want to wait in line for stuff I'd like to have access to
What you're advocating has never been proven, and as a movement that constantly cites the scientific method, it's centrally based on unproven ideas.
You need to prove something, a model city perhaps, proof? Stop talking talking out of your collective behinds.
GtheMVP 1 year ago
@GtheMVP 'Universal what? People can't have access to everything, thast's the communist promise. A RBE is learning to live without, and I don't want to wait in line for stuff I'd like to have access to'
Again, resources and technology on this planet is so amazing, so plentiful, that only the rarest of goods would you have to 'wait in line for'. Name me one basic need or even 'western world' want that couldn't easily be provided to every person on the planet today using strategic production.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GtheMVP 'What you're advocating has never been proven, and as a movement that constantly cites the scientific method, it's centrally based on unproven ideas.'
It is based on an empirical train of thought. No, the ideas haven't been tested. That is exactly what we are advocating. Putting these (and every other) idea to the TEST. Using science to figure out what actually works best. If we are wrong about 80% of what we say, we can re-orient in the direction that science takes us.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GtheMVP You need to prove somthing, a model city perhaps, proof? Stop talking out your collective behinds'
I agree with you, and trust me, as soon as it's possible, we will be building a research facility/test city. Hoever, we are not talking out our behinds. Your just being insulting for the sake of it. As I said, all of our exrapolations are based on currently available technology and scientific data. Yes, they need to be tested, but it's far from ass-talking.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 It is ass talking because there's zero proof we can,or would want to live like that. The technology does not exist, though it will if we want it, but will people work towards it without the profit incentive?
Anyways, you are right about one thing, and that this movement is voluntary, and I am 100% for peaceful volunteerism. If a bunch of people want to shoot for a RBE, have at her, just expect that people won't.
Big release tonight, looking forward to seeing it!
GtheMVP 1 year ago
@GtheMVP again, ass talking would be based on nothing, or wild speculation, our ideas are based on a logical train of thought. they are a valid hypothesis that needs to be tested, not some wild unsubstantiated theory. the new movie gives much evidence as to why humans could adapt to live like that, because we are very adaptable, and as for ppl wanting to live like this.. who the fuck wouldn't? never having to work, but being able to contribute as much as you'd like? where's the downside?
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GtheMVP regarding volunteerism.. i'm right with you. i think ppl should have the right to make decisions away from the brainwashing machine of our current advertising culture, but as for supporting our direction, that's anyone's choice, and i have no expectations either way. things are as they are, i can't do MUCH to change them.
let me know what you think of the movie.

@GtheMVP Did Shakespeare, Pasteur or Einstein work for profit incentive? Good vid..
willywillyization 1 year ago
@willywillyization It's not about the profict incentive, it's about central planning, and our innability to do so. If you understand Mises economic calculation problem, you'll see that we can't allocate resources without price, it's just not possible at this point. This isn't a cpu speed thing either. We can't predict how 1000 people will handle a pile of logs, just imagine 6 billion and trillions of diff reosources, combo's are beyond limitless.
GtheMVP 1 year ago
@GtheMVP the economic calculation problem is really ridiculous. it is a basic assertion that resource production can never be determined without price, as if price is some magic tool that can never be replaced. when mises wrote about 'the economic calculation problem' he never imagined the possible ways of resource tracking and distribution we have today. its not just about cpu speed, no, it's about a brand new way to track and balance supply&demand.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 If you have a better way of tracking and allocating resources than price, then tell us. Anyone who understands the economic calculation problem is more than likely an empiricist like me, I'm always ready tp proven wrong
Just saying you can do it isn't proving anything, you need some actual empirical data to back up claims. RIght now TVP is based on assumption, that's the only fact I can see around here.
GtheMVP 1 year ago
@GtheMVP i would say hypothesis moreso than assumption. it's based on a rational, empirical line of thought. but of course, like any hypothesis, needs to be tested, i agree. i just think throwing 'the economic calculation problem' around for every system that doesn't use price regardless of the new methods used to replace price is a little silly. if anything, the idea that price is this mystical, insurmountable ultimate reality, is quite the assertion.
however, we def need to prove ourselves.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 "the idea that price is this mystical, insurmountable ultimate reality, is quite the assertion"
It's our best tool thus far, so why deviate unless something better comes along?
"however, we def need to prove ourselves"
Yes, yes you do :)
GtheMVP 1 year ago
@GtheMVP even mises realized it didn't apply in all situations, he talked of small communal tribes in which price would be unnecessary, not realizing that in the future the ability to do the same thing these small tribes do, but on a global level, would exist. I mean, hat we have is almost like the jetsons compared to the world mises knew. he never considered the possibilities of true abundance of life-needs, and he didn't know the bio-psycho-social nature of the human animal's behavior.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GtheMVP 'TVP can't give us everything so it's insane to say we can get rid of money'
'everything'? no, we can't do that. all of our core human life needs (from food and shelter to education and recreation? yes, we can provide that. you don't need to give people EVERYTHING to get rid of money. people don't want everything, they jsut want what they need when they need it.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GtheMVP 'it just represents the value of your item.'
the problem is that money has become decoupled from any true physical item-value. of course, we could correct this, and only print money in proportion to the amount of goods and services available, but this would not solve the problems of differential advantage, inequality, and all the social, mental, and physical health risks associated with inequality. those can only be eliminated by ridding ourselves of the market system.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 Money, like a gun, is not the problem, people are the problem. Poverty was on the decline in the US, steadily, until the government introduced the welfare program, now we have a class stuck in a rut of government dependance.
The free market system is the only proven path to prosperity, your RBE is based on zero evidence, it's nothing but a technocracy without scientitsts running the show. Jaques is still a technocrat at heart.
GtheMVP 1 year ago
@GtheMVP It's not the problem'
money? no, money is something we made up. the problem is our FAITH in money-value overriding our very real life-needs in almost all sectors of the world.

Knightinsf 1 year ago
@Knightinsf
ad hominum attack is when you use a personal attack on someone's character, for example, their bad habit of smoking, to invalidate their claims. common fallacy, but of course, as everyone knows, whether or not I smoke has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not anything I say is true or factual.
you want to know another bad habit I can't seem to stop? feeding the trolls...
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@Knightinsf I don't need care and feeding. I just need people who want to be taken seriously on such serious matters to act like they give a shit about themselves. Both my parents died far too soon from smoking related illnesses and they always used the excuse that "no one knew it was bad for you." What's your excuse? And remember, I need no care and feeding. The question's rhetorical.
Knightinsf 1 year ago
@Knightinsf dude, I've already said that I don't smoke, often, that I did it in the video for 'effect', which I now realize is kinda dumb, but whatever. I'm not asking for anyone to take me seriously, and again, whether or not I smoke means NOTHING.
Do you eat meat? Processed foods? Dairy? Those things cause more cancer and death than tobacco. If so, then you just proved you don't give a shit about yourself. and therefore everything you say is wrong? I'm still struggling with the logic here.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 I'm a vegetarian, limited dairy. Poor diet has eclipsed smoking as a major killer. I don't care as much as I should about my body but then, I'm not cutting into a steak "for effect" before presenting valid and critical points to the world. Glad to hear you are still struggling with the logic. That means the synapses are still firing and you are still engaged. I'm not looking to criticize you as a person but I am very put off by the lack of judgment you exercised.
Knightinsf 1 year ago
@Knightinsf so you are saying that my lapse in judgement, my decision to record some video of myself smoking, and include it in what is essentially a personal statement about fear (yes, I see the irony), is such a horrendous lapse in judgement that you were left doubting whether my synapses were still firing? it put you off enough to comment that it "pretty much invalidates anything that comes next"?
you still haven't explained how one bad decision invalidates my message totally.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 And regrettably, no further elucidation will be forthcoming. You are addicted to the debate (aka responding to trolls). I'm only interested in the message, which was cluttered, for style or some reason that eludes me. You are speaking to a broad audience about a very important topic. To that extent and my final comment on the matter is to make fewer excuses or even amends for the artistic decision that warranted this thread or step up your game to enhance your legitimacy. C ya.
Knightinsf 1 year ago
@Knightinsf
people asked why the smoking was in there, i explained my flawed reasoning. i wasn't trying to excuse it.
and yeah, i do get addicted to these little debates, another one of my flaws that I've already pointed out.
the main reason, this time around, for continuing to respond (as I often don't), was that I was hoping for some insight into how you justify condemning my message based on my smoking.
i'm a hypocrite, in more ways than one. he who is without sin cast the first stone.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 OK, just for the record, no harm, no foul. I think the messages about desire vs. fear (what ultimately is delineated by us as the more quaint notions of "love and hate") are very VERY important. It is a distinction I believe so powerful as to trigger a massive breakthrough and facilitate an awakening process. In the pure realm of desire and fear, there is no right or wrong, just being. Often, the image IS the message and people rarely delve deeper into more subtlety. (see part 2)
Knightinsf 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 (part 2) ...so, the first image is essentially "Joe Cool" lighting up. OK, no fear. I got it. We shortern our lives in lots of ways. But, that action--for me--because of my filter, because of the tragedies in my personal past--shows up as acquiescence to slavery and tho' you may not be "terrified", you would still--in my perception--be a willing slave. Slave to addiction, to a multi-national and very nefarious industry and to an indulgence that plunders and pollutes.
Knightinsf 1 year ago
@Knightinsf thanks. that's all i was looking for. an explanation rather than an outright dismissal. because that's all i was trying to do, explain why i did what i did, not excuse it or somehow justify it.
Most post people were able to look past, or not think about the fact that I was smoking, and all that entails (you're whole post is completely true), but a few people weren't, and I am actually glad we kept the conversation up...I feel a lot better about it now, us understanding each other
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 I'm very pleased that we came to an understanding (so hard to do in the rather benign environment of text only where inflection and empathy don't really factor in and thanks for pressing the issue to a satisfactory resolution. There is only desire and fear. Awareness of one's actions based upon that duality can make a huge difference in how one directs one's life. Live long and be well.

GameSheriff 1 year ago
@GameSheriff Huh? Since when is a connection strictly limited to physicality? That was a lame example... Individuality is an oxymoron because no matter how different we are from everybody else, that's what we all have in common; is that we are all different. THUS, a connection. And I can think of many superior gifts I have aside from individuality. HAHAHAH.
daylene4 1 year ago
@daylene4 well personally, I think our connection IS physical, we are connected to all living things through our interactions with the environment. we need plants to survive, etc, etc. I've never seen any proof of anything non-physical, so I couldn't ever say that it exists.

I can almost guarantee you that that woman was still emotionally suffering from whatever happened to her in her home country from which she immigrated. And that was the real cause for her crying. I don't know who you are, but I do know what you believe, and all i can tell you is get a goddamn grip.
GameSheriff 1 year ago
@GameSheriff If you are right, ask why things are so bad in those countries? Because humans have yet to become unified and civilized. Because every single human person DOES NOT have FREEDOM (watch imprisonment pt1 to see what I mean by that). And until we solve that problem, people are going to be depressed, anxious, crazy, killers, rapists, etc, etc, etc. As for 'get a grip', you'd have to be more specific, but if there's anything you disagree with me on, I''l gladly discuss it.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@GameSheriff You don't know everything I believe from the 22 minutes of video Ive made. or even from my blogs. I don't believe anything, ever, but I try to understand as much as I can
You have no information on where this woman immigrated from and you're making blind assumptions. Not cool.
And no matter where she did come from, it doesn't matter, because the problems I want to fix are global, because we are one planet and one species and none of us can be truly free and happy until we all are
saydaysago2008 1 year ago 4
@saydaysago2008
GameSheriff 1 year ago
@GameSheriff well, your experience with venezuelan immigrants is moot, because the woman immigrated from a 1st world, european nation (to canada, remember, I don''t live in the USA). So this rules out the trauma of escaping socialism (actually she and her husband moved here to find work.. oil sands and all that).
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 What's your experience in the subject matter? Absolutely none, you're making suppositions based on what you want to believe and nothing more.
GameSheriff 1 year ago
@GameSheriff my experience is exactly what I said. I heard her saying she didn't understand, because her life was perfect, how she could just cry every morning. She had no idea why, was not in touch with her own emotions. Nobody, without maybe some real therapy could say for sure why she was crying. I didn't even state any assumptions in the video, I just said that her pain was justified, because no matter what the cause, there is a cause, and we (humans) should be trying to fix it.
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 Like I said, you have absolutely no freaking idea what was upsetting this woman, why did you even bother mentioning her if you don't even know the cause for her crying, maybe it was something completely personal, maybe it didn't have anything to do with the world, the universe, or the goddamn cosmos.
GameSheriff 1 year ago
@GameSheriff i mentioned it because the video is a personal statement about 'refusing to be terrified' in a world that promotes fear. the cause of her pain is irrelevant, i never made a point of it at all. i repeated what she said: she just moved here, she has a perfect life, shes confused why shes crying..
the point is that another human being was in pain and I felt for her. its about fear and love.
didn't i say that in the video?
saydaysago2008 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008
I think the cause of her pain is actually quite relevant, if she's just crying because o personal matters, and not because the evil capitalists are tearing the world apart and you Reds haven't been able to stop them, which I think was probably the reason, what why even bothering mentioning her? It's got nothing to do with anything.
GameSheriff 1 year ago
@saydaysago2008 Regrettably, I know what you believe in all too well. I've seen some of my bestest friends, some of the people I cared for the most, fall prey to your little plot to brainwash Western youths into forsaking their values and turning to Marxism. @augustorcdoliveira love is definitely the key part of dealing with other humans, even with nature itself (because we are symbiotic, connected to nature), but LOVE will not solve technical problems.

The problem IS within... The outside is a reflection.
ZeitgeistMovementLV 1 year ago
