Certainly brings back memories. I worked at SES 8 from 1980-82. I reckon they must've used that crappy quality Advance Aust Fair opener & closer for over 10 years without ever once thinking to replace the pictures with some better quality shots.
Just wondering even though it's since been re-badged as WIN can you still pick it up in Western Victoria? Asking since Underbelly is banned in Victoria could people in Western Victoria still watch it via WIN Mt Gambier
WIN SA is not a Nine affiliate anymore. It's not been since September 2007, where WIN got offended at Nine's proposed deal (and rightly so, I might add), and went to Seven, where I've enjoyed decent prograamming. Not so sure about the rest of the town who are still whinging about it, yet neglect to mention that they got most footy games now that they have Seven and Ten. Me, I'm not fussed: I got Austar ten years ago so I didn't have to watch football, and I still have it to this day.
Great memories, of course SES 8 became WIN Television in 1999, & the station didn't start 24 hour broadcasting until December 2003.

In the late 70s early 80s you could pick up SES8 in Ballarat late at night with the right antenna Especially when BCV8 was off air
