@stokesmellor no sir you dont need a sound card. But with a sound card you're going to get better sounding audio.. i used onboard audio for a year before i got my sound card and only had a stereo head set and the audio was much better

@NicklasVB if ur thinking about gettign a 7.1 sound card check your mobo...if its one o f the newer gen mobo then it should have onboard 7.1 sound card...check the back of your IO and check to see if yu have 6 3.5mm jacks in the back if yu do then yu have a 7.1 intergrated sound card...which will be able to handle the tiamat...if yu dont like the quality from the onboard then go buy a aftermarket sound card...i rec the ht omega striker..

Hey guys. Does anyone know what type of adapters I would need to get the speaker wire outs from a home theatre receiver to get to the 3.5mm minijack connecters on the razer tiamat? For example it would be awesome to watch/listen to a 7.1 DTS HD MA Blu-ray using these headphones through a receiver.

I buy a Megalodom on july 2010, and now he is broked. He dont show 2.0 when i leave 7.1 option. Well the function is ok, but for the price that i play for this, i dont expected that is so fragile, and im very soft and sensitive with my toys. Well theres others options on the market, and i dont see advantages to continue buyng Razer products.

ich kann nicht sagen dass der g35 fake surround schlecht ist. immerhin hat man ohne klinken absolut rauschfreie klänge und sprachübertragung.

@pablov3d LOL @ you calling something retarded over the colour of lights. First of all, it's irrelevant. But obviously it is to go along with there theme, Razer colours are Black/Green. A lot of their products are not exclusive to blue LED, and the majority of their new versions of their mouses the colour is able to be changed via the Razer Software provided.

I do not like the ear pads on that headset! uncomfortable, preferring Megalodon ear pads, more comfortable for longer play times

megalodons are virtual surround sound ..means 2 speakers/drivers faking 8 channels

whereas the tiamat have 10 drivers(5 in each) giving REAL surround.

Conclusion-

cant compare megalodons with tiamat!

they look much more comfortable then the megalodons! i own carcharias......megalodon and carcharias share the same ear pads.

And again the major POINT to buy a headset is the sound!!!
