I was in my high school senior year when this godless and cowardly act "SHOCKED THE CONSCIENCE", of the world. A former Alabama state legislator (years later) and photographer- I engaged to do some photography work for me some years after this act. Chris lost his darling little daughter, Denise to the Sunday morning bombing.
Amazingly, Chris talked, a part snatched from his life motivated by racial HATRED.
This speech is wonderful and so true. This is true of the people today who hate LGBT people. If you don't speak up, you are part of the problem. Charles Morgan is my new hero.
It wasn't called terrorism then, but that's exactly what it was! The whole era of slavery/racism was terrorism against an entire race of people! But look at the history or our country--and the atrocities against people in the name of 'Christianity'!! I was 16 in 1963 and remember this disgraceful period in our history. I have a native American Indian background, and I abhor any and all forms of racism, profiling, war, death penalty--anything that treats another human being less than human.
It's amazing that Mr. Morgan lived long enough to see the exact same hatred be spewed by the right-wing, fux not news, and the GOP, since President Obama was elected.
