  • Should have taken exit 15E it goes to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, BTW I use this road to get there. I wish it took this fast.

  • Hey Jim I got a question,

Do you have a video card on your camera?

How much in time can you record your traveling videos?

  • @interstateruler I shoot to MiniDV tapes, 62 Minutes a pop!

  • @Freewayjim I hope you have plenty of those tapes for your journey to whereever life takes you

  • @interstateruler I usually travel with 20-25 of them on a long trip, last trip I used 15.

  • I remember drives being slow when I was a kid! It probably was due to my dad observing the 55 MPH religiously!

  • You should check out US Route 3 in Nashua. You'll never believe what it's like!

  • @benlonghighway I used to live in Nashua, the upgrades are nice.

  • I sure am trying to move to NH. I've wanted to live there since I can remember. "Live Free or Die" and the Freestate movement have me amped for it. Didnt know you were born there though.

  • @blaknoizee No place is perfect but NH is great, especially in the summer and fall.

  • I've been to that part of NH many times and the drive from the toll to I-89 seemed long for me, too.

  • Trust me, I've been to New Hampshire before and I've been to that rest stop before.

  • Ahhh the road to almost Weirs love the part right after Concord when its 65 and we are almost there and yes I go to the rest area after the Hooksett Tolls thats our last rest stop on the 5 hr journey we stop on I-91 in CT and on the Mass Pike Chalrton Plaza

  • Went to SPS in Concord for high school...this ride brings back so many memories

  • Being on 93 at least a couple times myself;

twice to Mt. Washington (went on the Kancamagus Highway one of the two time as well). Also took 93 to 89 to Pats Peak in Henniker

  • Went to college in NH took this drive many times though to get to my school I get off onto I-89.

  • Eh' Jim, bet it brings back some memories, coming up to your home state huh?? I'll agree that I93 in concord and points north does feel like a long ride haha. I couldn't live more than 30 miles north of the Mass state line if I was to ever move to NH. Nothing but trees lol.

  • Great video, Jim - 5 out of 5 Stars as always! BTW, did you film the Franconia Notch segment with the HD camera?

  • Thanks.

No unfortunately I did not get that far north, I really wanted to get it in HD but I had other commitments :(

  • Have you ever been to Canada?

  • Yeah, went to Sherbrooke PQ twice about 15 years ago.

  • Are you going to film Ontario/Quebec in the near future? That's why I asked the previous question.

  • No, I don't see myself going to Canada in the near future.

  • This was filmed on the same day that I was traveling on this road from I-93 to the I-89 exit, heading home from vacation in Hampton Beach.

Do you usually disassemble the camera for the toll booths or do you just stop recording?

  • Ha, how about that.

In most other places, we just pop the camera off the tripod and pop it back on as soon as we pull away from the toll booth.

  • Nice video.

So, you're not supposed to record through a toll booth? I know I've recorded through the Ga. 400 toll both and the U.S. 90 Bus. East/Crescent City Connection toll booth.

When I was crossing from Detroit to Windsor, the border agents on the Canadian side got mad at the driver of our vehicle for taking a picture. So, yeah...

  • Recording through the toll booth is the not the issue. It's what bridge, tunnel or turnpike the toll booth is for that's the issue, some places might not take kindly to a car driving through with a camera even if there are no posted restrictions. I've filmed through GA-400 too, no issues and I probably would not have any concerns on some of the Texas toll roads either.

  • I tell you, photography's getting hit hard with paranoia.

  • That's what I like about filming the expressways in Florida - I just go through the, "Sunpass Only," lanes and nobody bothers me.

  • never had any problems here also .. recorded every toll road in houston multiple times , and austin tolls no problems .. but i dont stop at a tolling booth . ez tag i use . might try it once, stop at a booth and see if its against the law or sumthin . but i doubt ne one would care.. ive even had cops look at me in the process of recording a freeway also and never a word or a pullover ...

  • I would not expect filming a highway to be a problem in Texas.

  • The vehicle I was in would have been easily identified on that day -- you don't see too many vehicles with the top down and a huge Kenny [from South Park] doll with a seat belt on in the back seat. xD

  • ahhh yeah, New Hampshire, home of granite. Way too bad about the Old Man of the Mountain, I was sorry to see that. Too bad you weren't in Concord for the NASCAR race but since Atlanta is this week you should be covered. Nice job as usual fwj. Drive on!

  • Thanks!

I like and watch NASCAR but I have no desire to deal with a crowd of 100,000 people for ANY reason :)

  • Nice to see some rural stuff too :) 5 stars.
