It first appeared on their Midnight Ride album in May 1966. It would be six months later that The Monkees would release it, as a B-side (that on its own made it into the top 20) to their #1 hit," I'm A Believer", penned by Neil Diamond. It was Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart that penned "Stepping Stone."
