  • Don't let this video fool you, this country is backwards. I am ashamed to be born there. I ask the Aliens why was I born there, with a little bit of luck I could have been born ANYWHERE ELSE but Malawi, anywhere but Malawi. It is literally the least developed country in the world.

When it comes to infrastructure, this country has nothing. The internet there costs a fortune and it is slow. Government is corrupt from top to bottom, they are not moving forward but backwards, its truly sad.

  • Thanks alot, our city's changed so so much and i just can't believe am seeing all so many buildings. Thanks to our leaders and brilliant intelligent people who are opening and running banks.May the Lord continue protecting and blessing you more.

  • looks boring

  • looks cleaner and more put together than Lilongwe.

  • Yewo Chomene Bamudala...tidazikonda!!...This sure does bring memories...i must say that some of the places have changed, but still same ol 'BTZ' as we affectionately called it. Its time to get back :-)!!...Well done.....MORE,MORE,MORE!!!

  • malawi

  • Is it safe to travel to Walawi?

  • @Thetrutv , Yes it is safe. Ofcourse you must be carefull and pay attention to any kind of problem but beside it its pretty safe and full o nice people. I've lived there a bit more than 3 months and I've enjoyed my stay. Therefore I recomend it to anyone.

  • that was really cool imiss bt like crazy soon iwill be there

  • left blantyre in 78 ,grew up there as a child thank you for the memory

  • I left Blantyre as a child in 74, there is still much in your video that I remember from my days there - some of the buildings were being constructed back then. Great stuff! I miss the pineapples!

  • I lived in Malawi for three yrs but never been to Blantyre only stayed in Lilongwe! And occasionaly drove to Zambia or we would go to a resort by lake Malawi called club makokola

  • I enjoyed this video and the song as well.

  • thank you for posting this video...been in malawi for 2yrs as a VSO volunteer and i had a great time- my life has changed and I know I made a difference. I miss the people and the place so much...

  • enjoyed the video and the music ,i was born and still live in blantyre ........SCOTLAND. nice to have a look around your BLANTYRE.

  • We stayed in Blantyre recently, and it was the people who made the city really something!

  • this video was such a blessing.haven't been back home in a while. could almost smell the great Blantyre. thanks a bunch kind sir.

  • I remember hitching to Malawi in 1985 and the president was Mr Banda , nobody would ever dare step out of line in anyway whatsoever . I would leave my bags at the market in Senga Bay and walk into the mountains for 2 days and upon my return find everything there . It was so wonderful and loved the friendship , trust and true hospitality . That was until Banda was ousted in elections and the people got their freedom , free of laws and look what it is now , hostile , jealous ,crooked et al.....

  • Skewed comment. Malawi is not hostile, jealous!

  • Is it dangerous their?

  • Not really, it's quite friendly actually... just don't walk anywhere after dark. Most houses and all hotels have 24hr guards with rapid response.

  • Chonde Abale this Englishman goes to Blantyre in September to marry his Malawi girl

  • relax music ,missing my birthplace even more now ive seen this video ,

  • Nice! things have changed so much since I visited in 1989. My fav. places Chisaks. and Mankungwa and the Drive In on Sunday evening.

  • Great song and video. Brings back lots of happy memories of living in Blantyre especially a wild night at Vila do Sol (long since closed) back in 2003.

  • Wow, I never imagined Malawi like this...

  • thats why you should not believe what people tell you but visit

  • it is a great video. i like the song

  • The song was done by Peter Mawanga from Lilongwe also known as Peter Pine.

  • Great to see Blantyre. We lived in Mulanje but left Malawi nearly 20 years ago so I have very faded but very happy memories of the places and the people. Thank you for the videos. By the way, who made the music?
