This is one of five songs that can make me cry right on the spot. Most of my friends had the clock music box that played this song. The words themselves are tear-inducing. But, I remember playing with my friend's clock music box playing this song one day before my Dad and I had dinner together alone. I think about my Dad when I hear this song.
Thanks again. Honestly, it is easier to be polite in "cyberworld" than in real life. Yet, even in real life, I've found that being polite has its rewards. For example, life is generally more pleasant when you are polite. More importantly, I have never regretted treating another with kindness.
When we were kids in music class, we delighted in mispronouncing the word "clock." But it's really quite a wonderfully sad song- I'm not sure I realized this until just now. Thanks, Karen.
I think I must be the only person in the world who didn't know this song. Once Piketamer requested it, I did a little research and I love the story that I read about it in Wikipedia. Strangely, when I was little, I loved Grandfather Clocks but apparently, I never wondered about the name.
omg,, i have a lump in my throat,, brilliant, i love the sound, and the tempo was perfect, thankyou, your a true angel,, this brings back a lot of childhood memories for me, now look what you have done, i got tears running down my cheeks,, this is just as i remembered it with my grandad on is piano,, karen your a star, thnx thnx thnx xxxx
You're welcome Piketamer. I'm glad that I could bring back those happy childhood memories. My grandmother used to play piano and my grandfather played the violin. I miss them and I miss hearing their music. I'm lucky that I have some recordings. Now, I'm going to cry too!
Gotta love MIDI format

This is a beautiful song. Oh my grandfathers cock was too large for himself
so it lay ninety years on the floor
It brings tears to my eyes. Thankyou.
