The reason the date is written that way is because in foreign countries such as Haiti, the DR and abroad, the day is placed first the month then the year. Im sorry that u were not educated or perhaps aware of different cultural practices. So, 12-01-2010 means the 12th of January 2010 which happens to be my birthday and also the 2nd worst day in my life as a Haitian!!!
