As someone who lives in one of the worst places in the US i can tell you first hand that even though guns here are very hard to obtain LEGALLY we still have tons of gun violence, murders, and crimes.

It is infact studied that in places were its harder for regular citizens to obtain guns legally there is more gun violence, murders, and crimes.

The bad guys arent exactly licensed gun owners you know? Do you think that theyl give up their guns once its illegal?

I didnt necessarily mean "on the streets" but at least allow citizens to protect themselves while in their homes and place of business. After Australia banned firearms, the violent crime rate skyrocketed. Along with home invasions and robbery's.

Here in America, Washington DC has had a ban on all firearms and has the highest murder rate in the US.

Compare that to places like Pittsburgh or Denver where citizens can be armed, the murder rate is very low.

Here in America we can buy fireproof bank safes for around $200 that can hold 12 firearms.

My family and I have been collecting military style firearms for over 60 years combined and NEVER had anyone steal one.

But Im sure the BBC and UK government will tell you that the right to protect yourself with a firearm is "wrong" and "dangerous".

Yet, every state in the US that allows its citizens to carry a handgun for protection has LESS murders/violence.
