  • I was there but had forgotten what songs they played with RT and Roy Wood.

  • Fabulous

  • Brilliant!! Sheer brilliance in song choice. Suits Thompson's range perfectly.

  • Absolutely fantastic

  • Oh my god d whit people ruin everthing!?

  • I am a huge Fairport fan. This may not be their usual style, but I think it's a great version of the song.

  • from the other side of the world..it sounds great!!!

  • Good stuff - I too was there.

Pretty sure the female backing voices are Roy Wood regulars the Naylor twins.

Wood's brass section (made up largely from the more pulchritudinous members of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra) was truly brilliant

  • Yes, RT on lead vocal.

I was there the year they did this. RT guested with Roy Woods band, and then they backed him for a couple of his better know tunes. Bright Lights was a blinder ! Cropredy is always a great weekend, but the best ones are when RT is on the bill.

  • Sensational. They do sometimes misfire when they go outside their main competence, but this is brilliant. Who is doing what? RT lead vocal?

  • "Who is doing what? RT lead vocal? "

Has to be. Rockin' Richard -- no mistaking that voice.

  • Fairport have always been an eclectic bunch of magpies, acquiring musos and material from a variety of sources. This has made for a rich and ever-changing, never-boring feast for all who love them. I've loved them for decades and was lucky enough to see them in Katoomba, Australia about 13 yrs ago in an intimate setting. I was the only member of the audience who had even heard of them. I had tears streaming down my face throughout. They gave me sloppy kisses and a free ticket for the next night.

  • Superb...what a band.

  • No video???

  • Fairport don't make many vids for their songs :p

  • wonder what sandy would have made of this ??

  • This song or this video?

  • BOTH

  • The song ain't very 'fairport' isi?

  • NO ! your right, but sandy liked to record other people`s songs (even elton john) perhaps she would have liked this one, take care !!

  • Yes I suppose so. It's not my favourite song of theirs, but it was on the CD that I uploaded (have all of who knows where the time goes and wood and the wire albums uploaded on here)

  • what a great version.

  • It's ok. I decided there needed to be more Fairport on here ^^

  • Cool singin and music!

    Thanks for posting!
