You have indeed built a "MAN CAVE" to work, play in etc. Wow the progression is fantastic, and now your wife admits she likes it!! You are one lucky man...I am adding on to mine also, but not as tall as yours. Great job, now you can party, (work on cars, toys etc)...You GO Dude...
@GameUrg 20+ yards of concrete, tons of 2X6X10's, 50 sheets of OSB were $15/sheet at the time. 25 large trusses, a mile of wire (6 AWG, 12 AWG, coax and Cat5). R-19 insulation in the walls and 1000 sq-ft of R-30 in the attic. 37 sheets of Sheetrock. Custom built, insulated garage doors on both the front and back. 500 lbs of nails and Sheetrock screws. 10 gallons of primer and paint. Commercial grade vinyl siding.
@kc7ekk yet you didn't budget a ladder in? I just about fell over laughing after seeing your ladder building skills. Nice video and nice building nonetheless.
f$%kin hell no. thats a huge garage. might as well call it a house. u used concrete then wood, man thas crazy. that looks higher than 13ft. congrats, awesum job
Ahh I absolutely love my garage. My wife called it the other woman while I was building it. Now she too admits to love it. It has tons of room to work and play (or hold social gatherings, we have extended family parties inside at Thanksgiving -- 44 people comfortably last year).
Its my sanctuary. It is a nice, quiet, soundproof place to get away and gather thoughts. Or to run a table saw / angle grinder at 2:30AM and not disturb anyone.
Very well done. Shows what can be done if you put your mind to it. It helps if you have a supportive wife.

The roof trusses . . . did you build them on site.

I see that you reused the form boards. You are the man.

After pouring the walls, I see you busted up the floor and poured more concrete. Why did you do that?
BadFeat 1 year ago
@BadFeat The existing concrete was cracked and the dirt underneath had settled. Better to tear it out and replace it.
