09 WRX Clutch Squeal

my 09 wrx does the same thing mostly after it rains dealer ship claimed they couldnt reproduce the noise time for a recall

This has been documented on 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 WRXs and STIs. Search NASIOC forums for "throw out bearing" for more info. No permanent fix from Subaru. At best, dealers will replace your throwout bearing and/or pressure plate to bandage the problem for a couple thousand miles, and at worst, they claim they cannot reproduce the issue.

@xxGriffonxx Thats because it is rubber against metal ;) I had the same problem when i put in my kartboy short shifter on my 09 wrx. All you have to do it put a tiny bit of grease where the linkage rubs against the rubber haha

my 09 did that at 19k i took it in subaru said they couldnt find a problem then at 20k it was gone, also my shifter squeeks when i change gears f-ing annoying rubber against metal sound i know when i take it in they will say they dont hear it

(part 2) a load on it, such as at 2800rpm coming out of 1st and 2nd and 3rd.. at a slightly higher rpm it wont do it.. and i already replaced the throwout bearing for the 3rd time with a subaru OE part so its not that... so can anyone plz help me!! im desprite.. im at my wits end with this car.. im about to give up!! :(

ok ive got a really stupid problem with my clutch.. i own a 2003 subaru impreza 2.5rs five speed manual.. i just had the clitch replaced with a new OE exedy clutch pressure plate flywheel pilot bearing throwout bearind and slave cylinder... problem... every time right after the car warms up completely, when i enguage the clutch (and i have to be moving, never will do it at idol or if car is off) something makes like a very noticable squeak or whooosshhh sound.. and it will only do it if theres

Mine does the same thing. Does not seem to be a threat to the health of the car though. I have a clicking noise on decel that I am worried about though. Seems to be transmission related and not RPM related.

My 07 with 50k miles just started doing the same thing when it got hot outside. Anyone have any ideas?

this happens to my 09 wrx hatch as well and i have 10k miles on it... its not going away, it's just becoming more frequent. :/

I have accepted this as just a small quirk of the 08-09 WRXs, has only happened once in the last 3 months so it's probably not a big deal

throw out bearing on a cold start. it's a common thing for the 08s and 09s.

mine does the same thing and i took it to the dealer and they told me that it should go away as my my mileage get higher ..im at 2500 so will see

I have an 09 wrx 5-door...does the same thing. Hmph. Love the car, wish it wasn't so quirky. Anyone take theirs in? Any dealer comment? I"m due for an oil change soon...I'm going to ask.

I have heard throughout bearing. slave cylinder and clutch pedal mounts. Still can not get a clear diagnosis b/c the only times it happens is when cold and or wet but even then once warm it goes away. Whiling squeals are never fun.
