a quad core mac costs over 3,000 and a quad core pc wich can actually play games can cost about 1,000 or at max 2,000

ok first off - i did say i wasn't trying to be an ass, so whats with the "u just don't get it". Ok - Macs ship with nothing less than NVIDIA graphics, even the Mac mini does! Go check. There are hundreds of PCs still only shipping with intel integrated stuff that is only marginally capable. Saying macs suck at games is misleading - a lot of games just simply aren't written for OSX. The Mac itself is great at games due to the great hardware.

And personally I don't get into games at all, even when I had windows pcs i never did. i most like to do video and audio editing, etc. Only games I have are Nanosaur 2 (3d) and World of Goo... just simple time passing games. So again I'll say that its not that Macs suck at playing games it all has to do with hardware of which the lowest Mac is like 10x more powerful than the lowest PC. There's even a video on here of an older Mac Mini running Crysis!

Technologically impaired huh? Find me specs on one of those shitty Dells for under $300 and compare it to the Mac Mini. Next to the Dell the Mini is a super computer that is almost as capable as an iMac.

If anyone is making themselves look like an idiot - its you - for not checking specs. i said the cheapest Mac compared to the cheapest PC... Mac mini ships with with some pretty cool specs for this class (including the nvidia graphics) and can be configured easily.

Wow... umm i guess you sure told me. Especially since the two biggest sellers in computers as far as market share is concerned are Dell and HP - yet "nobody with any knowledge buys them". As if what the masses do doesn't matter? Their combined market share is about half of the computers sold. By this fact alone - its EASY and appropriate to compare a Mac to an HP or Dell.

I said at first that I wasn't trying to be an asshole about anything, but you've attacked me so....

One thing that many PC fanboys do repeatedly is to compare systems outside of form factor as if its "ok" and you all use that to claim that Macs are overpriced. Like comparing a custom built pc to an iMac. No. The iMac gets compared to PC all-in-ones. The Mac Mini gets compared to mini PCs of the same size class, etc. When you compare them using this standard the prices don't vary much.

u should read my comment above ^^^^ but ill explain in more detail. u cant exclude custom pc as if there not even in the market because the truth is they lead the market and the companies like hp and dell just make there own pc's and sell to make profit and also have to compete with each other meaning that they would make lower grade pc with bad parts. but custom built is the way to get the most of ur every dollar and thats the point ive been making so just give up u cannot win in this argument

Since their total market share is hard to determine (and is small) AND hard to determine their overall reliability as well. In regards to your comment about customs leading the market - i disagree. There are no numbers that can be easily determined to prove this. If the custom shop in the mall where I live is any indication - nobody buys customs. And sure you can get more for your money - you aren't paying for that companies huge overheard so the price of the system can easily be different by about 50%. Unless you get a custom from a shop - that guy will certainly charge - he doesn't work for free.

the reason why u can't tell the % of the market that is made of customs because no one owns a business just for customs, the way u get customs are by buying parts and putting it together by yourself or going to a computer supermarket and seeing and special offers on computers made by them. building fee. I already had mentioned about that - its called overheard. Every manufacturer has a ton of it. This is why a lot of guys that do custom building always claim that Dell's and HPs, and Apple's are "overpriced" but its simply not true because of that simple fact. They charge what they do because of manufacturing costs, shipping, advertising, design, and a great deal of other misc overheard. I stand behind what I said.
