its a little late for this now, but if you get a chance to see it in 3D....DO IT!!! i saw it in imax 3D and just about died, scene when they are climbing up in the floating moutains and when he is obtaining his banshee had me at the edge of my seat and my hands were sweating because i felt as if i was actually there hanging on to the side of the cliff with him, haha sounds crazy i know but thats just the way the effects grab you, and the regular version pales in comparison but is stillagreatmovi

you know cameron says he is working on a sequel but i think that alot of great films hav been ruined by the sequels because they set the benchmark so high in the first one. hopefully cameron will produce another masterpiece like this one was

Eee I love this movie and everything it represents, the sci-fi, environmentalist, peaceful, natural fantasy elements all mixed up together, of course with guns and massive machines.

@democide03 I thought it was an enjoyable film, but hardly "mystical." And it has a very strong social message; those who agree with the message will call it "spiritual" and those who disagree will call it propaganda.

It's an entertaining movie ... a fantasy ... but I won't be depending on this sort of thing to inform or shape my opinions about the real world.

Pocahontas = white guy falls for native girl gets injured and goes back to England. Then the native girl travels to England.

Avatar = White guy in a avatar suit falls for blue native. Trys to talk to them about the corporations motives. War breaks out and him and several other humans take the natives side and join them to defend their planet.

Big difference!!!!!!

What I am trying to say is that plotwise, avatar is at the bottom of the sea. Message-wise, it has already been done in a million other movies, with tons of other variations. @PassRusher74 your example is vividly stupid, the essence is still the same, variations on the same theme, its like the difference between KFC and McDonalds, still fast food. Do enrich your culture, so you may see my point
