  • Oh sorry that's a $10 bottle of water is it?

  • @DrumTam555 12$ actually. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc But he said $10 haha

  • @DrumTam555 He didn't want to give his discount. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc hahaha!!

  • I tried one at Best Buy today, loved it and buying it tomorrow. Brains a goof and a badass I love it.

  • @elroddin76 Sweet! Stoked you are liking this snare. Brain is both of those and that it pretty hard to achieve. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc i know how u can upgrade the woody, which the wood from maple to mahogany, so i you can get a classic, natural sound.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc but why did you get rid of the vids on the rat rod, the woody, and the platinum's anyway? just because they're discontinued for now, doesn't mean gone. seriously, put them back on.

  • @killjoyshidae1208 We just dont want people to feel that something is available that is not. We would rather not frustrate anyone with that. We do really appreciate you wanting to watch the vids though. Let's see of how people respond to our conversation and we'll go from there. Sound good to you? A little survey. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Hey DW, I was just wondering, what happened to the Rat Rod & the Woody? Are they discontinued or are they on a hiatus like the Platinum Series?

  • @killjoyshidae1208 The Rat Rod and the Woody have been discontinued for now. The Platinum Series we are still going to make with a long lead time(4 months). With the Mexico factory gone it is hard to keep these snares going but we are weathering the storm right now and are hopefull to bring the those snares back or an upgraded version. :/

  • @DrumWorkshopInc why were the platinums discontinued though? Honestly the performance series is hardly a good replacement considering it costs like 2 grand for a 5 piece shell pack... Also why did you discontinue alot of the really awesome finishes before you discontinued the whole series? I would LOVE one of those exotic ones!

  • @ab4foot11 We closed our factory in Mexico where we were manufacturing the Platinum Series drums. The Platinum Series evolved quite a bit with its finishes and sizing and it will be missed. We do have some new and exciting drums coming this next year. Stay tuned...

  • @DrumWorkshopInc how soon? I'm selling my drumset right now, and if you're bring back the platinum series I'd be willing to go maybe 2 (MAYBE 3) weeks at most without even having ordered a kit and I would LOVE to get some platinums (or whatever replacement you may have for them).

  • @ab4foot11 Sorry but we can't promise anything that soon. We are hoping to have all the new series in stock by March. :)

  • Every drum in this video series sounds exactly the same...tuned horrible, and this guy has a solid, tight groove, but he's so dimwitted that I can't take him or the product seriously. He basically describes what it looks like, says he got a lot of tones but really they were really just head, click, and shot...and what the hell are we micing a snare with a pencil condenser for? Total advertising fail.

  • @Albatross93 congrats! I look forward to hearing how you like it...and hopefully seeing a video of you playing it :)

  • @Albatross93 indeed.

  • @Albatross93 yes, I do :)

  • @Albatross93 glad you had the chance to check out the PDP snares. Great bang for the buck. It is difficult to recommend a snare since it is such a personal preference. We miss The Rev dearly, but great to hear that his inspiration lives on. For a similar rock/metal sound, I recommend a deeper snare than a 5-inch; either the 6.5x14 Ace (Black Nickel over Brass shell) or the 6x15 All-Maple Blackout. However, the new 5x14 Mainstage Steel snare is worth considering pacificdrums(dot)com/snares

  • So who makes the wooden hoops on these snares? and how good are the hoops?

  • @scott111193 They come from a factory that also makes steering wheels for cars, so yes they are very high quality and much more durable than you might imagine.

  • You know, this guy is a much better drummer than I am, so no disrespect at all....but these edgy videos you guys at PDP are trying to do just suck...fuck the stylistic bullshit and the "vibe" and lets get these snares tuned right, mic'ed right and go through the range of tuning. These snares sound really bad in these videos. Drop the bullshit and give us the facts dammit.

  • it could sound pretty good if you tune it up right. i would get new heads if you put them on though. the wood hoops will put different pressure on the heads, so they might wrinkle and loose tone

  • i have this snare. piece of caca. in my opinion. alot of people get fooled on the woodhoops and looks the sound is terrible

  • too much overtones.. I have the platinum and its my favorite snare. its sounds so deep, especially if you use the moon gel mufflers

  • @apparentlymusical You said you have the platinum snare? Wood it sound good if you put wood hoops on it?

  • Interestingly, he is talking about 6" (and it does look like 6" depth), but official size iz 5.5". Maybe this is just pre-production example. And yes, micing is weird, all drums from this PDP series sound the same.

  • fuck you bryan

  • @3m0ly are you deaf?

  • @Crusada54 you cant judge a snare on one video....but the drummer is crap

  • @triforce10155

    What? eh? Haha!

  • Whoever mic'd this is retarded, the mic is too far to pick up the true sound of the snare.

  • @Yayo015 apparently you know NOTHING about the different ways of micing drums. if you mike the snare close about 1 inch from the snare or closer, you will hear frequencies you wouldnt hear from where youre sitting (when playing) a bit farther like where its at... gets the full sound of a drum.. (more body)

  • I think they're Zildjian ZX 14" Hi-hats.

  • what kind of hi hat is that? anybody know?

  • I wish he would show more snare drum playing, buzz rolls, flams and drags and things. He didn't show very much in dynamics.

  • The mic isn't close enough to the snare. Not really picking up much of the sound to it.

  • Nice! love Brain's playing

  • @persini i personally dislike it

  • I love water.
