  • Absolutely Hilarious!

  • As a Catholic school survivor, it's finally GREAT to get a laugh from a nun. LOL!!

  • This is funny. Look up Shit Nuns Say. That's funny too.

  • Funny and accurate too. I went to a convent school in the 1960s and the nuns were just like this.

  • I went and seen this in LA. sat in the front row. HUGE mistake. Its all good...

  • I saw the first part here a few months ago. It was a good show until the actress got on her soap box. Sorry lady who played her in Medford Oregon, a woman will not ever be a priest.

  • This is great! Don’t have to be Catholic to have a serious laugh. Good start to the morning. :-)

  • sister maripat is awesome!!

  • Scaring little kids to be brainwashed and threatening them will hell is soooo funny. She knows what god wants and how to please him. Deliver the little children unto him and his priests. They will " take care" of them...how sweet and funny.. (spit)

  • Why is the laughter in such higher definition than the teacher?

  • @RandomTask3000 the mic must have been closer to the audience.

  • She's a hoot!!!!!!!

  • Rip the audio from this vid at tubepull doht cohm.

  • Very funny. I did 12 years in Catholic school. I never had a Nun as funny as this one. My teacher was "Sister Mary Beat-Me-Up"

  • hahaha I'm gonna convert to new age religion hahaha

  • This is a guy, right?

  • @TooOldForGaming Me? What did I do, and not all "religious" people are morons. Only the ones that abuse power. And how about the millions of people killed under Stalin, Castro, Mao and so on. "Religion" had nothing to do with that. It's not the religion that kills people, it's CERTAIN people.

  • she needs to get her theology straight. Vatican II did not change "extra ecclesiam nulla salus". No one knows IF non-Catholics get to heaven. There is a possibility they do, but it's not for her to decide.

  • lol are they real nuns?

  • TYPO it said something couny and it should have been county. I catch typos!!!

  • This is great, I could not stop laughing! It is a shame they did not have nuns like this when I was growing up!

  • @TooOldForGaming Peace be with you, Dear one

  • Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil- it has no point

  • I was shocked, confused, bewildered

As I entered Heaven's door, not by the beauty of it all, nor the lights.

But it was the folks in Heaven who made me sputter and gasp.

The thieves, the liars, the sinners, the alcoholics and the trash.

I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal? How'd all these sinners get up here? God must've made a mistake.

'And why is everyone so quiet, give me a clue.' 'Hush, child,' He said

'they're all in shock. No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

    JUDGE NOT!

  • This was wonderful, so funny. God gave this nun a great sense of humor and timing. I loved it and sent it to all my friends.

  • he was good i wanna convert to be a catholic.

  • @TooOldForGaming The people at my church don't say "if you give donations, you'll get what you want." In most churches that doesn't happen, and name one hateful thing in this video.

  • @TooOldForGaming Alright I'm a normal individual the majority of us are normal individuals. Please stop stereotyping.

  • @TooOldForGaming There are a lot of Christians (like the ones I just listed "dedicated to science", Muslims and Arabs had their contributions to science to. And a huge religion started 2000 years ago, and had 2 billion is no where near the definition of cult. And we "freaks" had a lot of contributions to society like the scientist I just listed below.

  • @TooOldForGaming Oh mkay, so Galileo was blind, Capernicus was blind, Newton was blind, please...this video all in the spirit of fun....leave your personal views out the window. Thank you.

  • Sister your awesome!!!! Just shows ya that God has a sense of humor too! To bless you with such a sense!

  • Before the Second Vatican Council, the Baltimore Catechism taught that Protestants could go to heaven if they believed that the religion they were following was true (question #510).

  • "the kingdom of heaven has many rooms except yours will be by the elevator and ice machine"

  • It is so sad that any spiritual practice would put so much focus on sin and punishment and guilt. Putting a funny spin on it doesn't negate the damage.

I was raised Catholic and attended Parochial elementary and high schools. What I learned was to distrust my essential nature and to be blinded to the essential goodness in others. I no longer practice Catholicism, but I am a strong Christian. Christ spoke of connection with each other, not distrust.

  • We need these kinds of nuns to be priests a la Rev. Roy Bourgeois from SOA Watch who has ordained woman as priests. Another person to be followed, but shoulder to shoulder is Dr. Francisco Acosta who started Romero University and Peaceint.org Acosta 's name should be googled up plus the word testimony and see this christian in action . He was born near the volcano Guazapa in El Salvador and was classmates with the now President Mauricio Funes. Please help be moved to act..Tom Schmidt

  • what if god were one of us?

  • I wish she was the Nun that taught me while in CCD, I would have learned a lot more! Sister MariPat ROCKS!!

  • *face palm* Wow... Just wow.

  • Maripat Donovan is not really a nun, but she is really funny.

  • I went to Catholic school for 8 yrs. and the nun's were no where near as funny as this gal. I love her rosary. I want one!!!!

  • "Joanie Loves Chachi" hahahaha!

  • I love this..... Sister Maripat Donovan is devilishly clever and divinely, hilarious!

  • She is too much! LOL

  • I love the Joannie loves Chachi bit.

  • Peter? A pope?? Not hardly..Weird, catholics did not start till 300 or 400 AD..Well after Peter died..Show me the word pope, or catholic, in the bible..Maybe in the catholic bible, written by man..The lady is funny tho, but borders on blasphemy..

  • Comment removed

  • @49indians Catholics believe that Peter was the first pope, even though he didn't have the actual title. . pope meaning the leader of the church. As Jesus told him "Thou art Peter and upon this rock, I will build my church." No blasphemy.

  • This looks like a good show. I had assumed that it was going to be the usual trashing of religion in the name of humor, but it appears to be the opposite, and very funny.

  • Best Way to Teach Religion

  • This is a kick.

  • I'm not a christian (muslim) either, and I think this is hilarious. Probably the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

  • im not a catholic and i LUV this!!! rly funny!!

  • I want to go the Church where she's is wheeling her ruler. She's a great marketing person for the Catholic Religion. VERY REFRESHING!

  • She is great! Thank you Sister.

  • Is she a real Nun?

  • She is awesome!!

  • great...love her

  • Comment removed

  • Almost makes me want to be a Catholic again, but not quite. She should be pope instead of that pedophile hiding jerk that's in there now. S's just to creepy to be a Catholic these days.

  • @mvmystic And you are pure as the driven snow, no doubt.

  • I love her humor.. she is wonderful... God does have a sense of humor and we learn so much better when we use it... she has taught in a fabulous way... wow, great!!!!

  • the internet.......

where all idiots have a voice

    buffedtrainer is their leader

  • No Pat. there are several actresses doing the "Late Night Catechisms." This is Amanda Hebert

  • Was she molestered?

  • @sKepptiksowat What kind of a stupid question is that?

  • A Christian friend sent me this clip (I'm an atheist). I'm still chuckling. Sister is funnier than most standups working today.

  • You tell'em sister.

Goodnight now and may God bless

  • buffedtrainer..you're an idiot

  • @jtmcq1, I agree with you. buffedtrainer, you're an idiot.

  • She is fabulous! Really enjoyed her Catechism clips here.

  • I have seen her three times! She is great! I got to be on stage with her at the Harvey Auditorium!

  • is she for real a nun? i was told this was phony. i'd like to think its real

    . she's great

  • @jclamdown, no, she's not a real nun. Her name is Maripat Donovan. It's an act. And she does a great job. It's a one-woman show she puts on, thus, the audience. The "classroom" is the stage. Anyone who ever grew up Catholic or went to Catholic schools "back when" and were taught by the sisters understand where this comes from.

  • lola2001000

    Thanks.

  • @Perrygodmother Hi perrygodmother and also to marose as well. Just to apologize my comments were directed to q8mostashar who questioned Jesus' divinity I just wanted help him/her understand our Catholic beliefs a little. I admit this is not the place for it and only for comments about the good nun's humor. So again I apologize.

    Peace out

  • What is all of this blabbering on about religion from you posters?? This is supposed to be a funny video that you can sit back in your recliner with a beer and the remote (like Sister said) and enjoy the show! Stop fighting over who says what about the Bible and God and Jesus etc. None of you know much about it anyway from what I can tell by reading your blurbs. Just practice the Golden Rule and you will be fine!

  • She is the smartest nun I've ever seen.

  • to q8mostashar:

Yes he did rise on the third day and he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. But first he suffered, died, and was buried. For love of us.

  • @lola2001000

Thank you for your nice reply also,

I'm confused now more and more, you said " is seated at the right hand of the Father" which means that he is not God also not the father.

No, I think there is something wrong here. Try again sorry

  • According to Revelation 21:6-7, Almighty God reveals himself to us in plain terms: "And he said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the fountain of the water of life without payment. He who conquers shall have this heritage, and I will be his God and he shall be my son."

    continued

  • But then, in Revelation 22:6, 13, 16, we find Jesus revealing himself to be "the Alpha and the Omega . . . the beginning and the end":

    continued

  • And he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place . . . I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end . . . I Jesus have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star."

    Jesus is God.

    continued

  • When the Son of God became man, He did not cease to be God, for that would have been quite impossible, but he asumed the human nature unto His Divine Person. There are, therefore, two natures in Jesus Christ, the divine nature and the human nature, but there is only one person in Him the person of God the Son. Jesus Christ is therefore God and Man, the Son of God and the Son of David, the true Emmanuel which means God with us.

  • @lola2001000

No again, sorry but this made me confused more and more, "And he said to me" that means that someone else is talking to him, also the roots of David that means David is his father or the God. these questions leed to make someone open his brain more and more to that Jesus is not God and this Bible is not the words of God. He may be a prophet and a messenger from God but not his son.

you should read more and more, get out of the box please.

Thank you again for the nice conversation.

  • @q8mostashar Taken from the angel Gabriel's words. Firstly, Gabriel said that Jesus was the 'Son of the Most High' and the 'Son of God'. (The Most High being the Holy Spirit). Secondly, he said that Jesus should "save His people from their sins". Now, God alone can redeem from sin; therefore Jesus must be God.

    Peace to you q8mostashar

  • 100 years after the death of Jesus !!!

How come he is dead and he is God and the Son of God?

    Answer this please....

  • It is in the Creed..." For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died and was buried."

  • Jesus rose from the dead on Sunday after He was crucified, with the glorified body promised all believers in the New Testament of the Bible. He did it to show that God will do as promised for believers, sort of a 'show and tell'. It's a wonderful promise. Get a bible and read the New Testament and get the whole story. Thank you.

  • @karen608608

Thank you for your nice reply, but also you said "He did it to show that God will do as promised for believers" that means he is not God and God is someone else.

MmMmMmM,,, I think you should read the Bible carefully and decide if it is the words of God or not.

    Thanks again.

  • @q8mostashar Put your listening ears on. He is both/and, not either/or. Just as we are master of our dogs, parent of our children, child of our parents, husband or wife of our spouse, etc.

  • @q8mostashar He is not dead.

  • @q8mostashar He's not dead.

  • @tjttzcspplt

I think it's not the right place for discussing about God, but anyway you said he died for our sins, and the logic refuses that he is ONE and he is the father and he is his SON, no one should accept that.

    Regards

  • @q8mostashar What's not the right place for discussing God? It's a video with a religious theme. You are coming from a Muslim POV, and you don't accept the Christian POV, so what are you even commenting for? No one in their right mind would want to convert from the Christian POV to yours. Not willingly, without being forced against their will, anyway. Such as it has been lo, these 1,500 years.

  • @tjttzcspplt You assumed that I'm a Muslim which is not true, but since you mentioned Islam, I find it more real and logical than the theory of God, Son and Holy Spirit. he is the father but he is not, he is God but he is not, he is dead but he did not!.

Furthermore, it's just a discussion where you could not answer my questions in a logical way to convince me, and NO ONE is forcing you or others to convert from Christianity which I respect as all religions.

    take care dear.. :)

  • Comment removed

  • yes, we are being persecuted for our CHRISTIAN RELIGION.

  • If this nun was teaching me in Catechism I would have stayed a Catholic!! Sister you are a pistol!! You go girl! Love ya.

  • @CuteyNudie Kind of a lousy reason to leave the Faith that saves you. Then again, most of us are just as immature.

  • Too funny ! I enjoyed this so much.

  • Very funny, it's good to see a nun that's got a sense of humour too.

  • I like the part where she strips and gets on a brass pole. Hilarious!!!!!

  • @kiesersozay Excuse me?

  • What is really funny is that the Catholics among us who have been taught by sisters just like this are the ones laughing at this show. These are "IN" jokes for us. No wonder people who never had nuns like this don't get it. This woman is hilarious. I have a strong enough faith to be able to laugh at my own religion once in a while. You go Sister!

  • @kberken This one goes a bit far, IMO.

  • @tjttzcspplt If you can't laugh at yourself, then you are going to be one very sad person. Get a grip. She has not crossed any lines. She is the jester in the court. This church needs a sense of humor. Lighten up, already.

  • @kberken You lighten up. She can be funny without being mean.

  • very funny.

  • Not another one of these...

  • ease up centurygardens31. You obviously don't understand what other people have written so don't criticize just because of your ignorance. Relax pal this is all in the name of comedy. She's quite funny too i might add. Alot of the comments here are quite interesting. Yours aren't. I bet you're vain enough though to come back and look at what people have written about you. I'm not so write what you want about me--I'll never see it. Cheers!!! And rock on Sitster!!!!

  • i want to see this!!!! funny!

  • @kiesersozay Both of your comments were quite objectionable.

  • This is soooooooooo lame!

  • In a sense, it's a parody of Catholicism, and religions in general [4:52]

Are Biblical teachings contra to science? eg: the Book of Genesis vs. evolution. She uses the word 'oxymoron' which is indeed telling. [4:10]

But NUN the less, it IS funny, although some Catholics may be offended ...

I didn't get the part about offering the guy being encouraged to join the priesthood.

"You could still sit all day in the Lazyboy with a beer ... you'd just have to share the remote." [3:39]

    Wazzat mean?

  • Husband would have to share the remote with all the other priests.

  • @BeauLeeman Pseudo ' learned geniuses' have no place here! Especially when you need to ask "Wazzat Mean?"

  • Comedy? Tragedy? Both. Roman theology isn't funny even when presented as a joke.

  • I got to see the comedian nun in person a few years ago in Pasadena. At the end she collected tips for the retired nuns, that had no retirement...she was brilliant.

  • She's GREAT!! Our GOD has a sense of humor....and she tells it like it is and gets thru to her listeners w/ her sense of humor. I really enjoy her, and have a friend who is a NUN like her.

  • LIGHTEN UP for God sakes!!!!!!!! Enjoy that someone has a universally lightened/enlightened sense of her belief. Honestly! I think your problem is that you take yourself too seriously because you are full of self loathing and FEAR!!!

  • Biblical truth in a comedic format is not easy to do and she does it well and without notes or a teleprompter.

  • funny good spirited no pun intended

  • what a lunatic....funny, but she's insane...

  • Is that Mary the cable nun?

  • Comment removed

  • Homosexuality is a sin, and it is listed as such in the Bible. If you would rather be involved in that lifestyle anyway, by all means, do so! But don't expect what has been written and understood and taught for two thousand (and more) years to suddenly give way just because you find it to be offensive. It's there for you to accept or to reject, but not to re-write.

  • and that "sin" was written by your precious preists and the catholic editors of the scriptures who are all busy screwing the altar boys! Funny, Jesus Christ preached love, not the viscious hate you build your little life upon--in the Book "A Place called Home there is a psychiatrist who had a near death experience, and he saw the part of Hell reserved for people who hate different races, gay people, and others---its the Bigot Holiday Inn. Your bed is waiting! Do wear your asbethos panties!!!!!.

  • @jshonert Still, it cannot be argued that your position is supported by the text. I am not "preaching" hatred or anything of the sort. I'm just saying that, if you don't like Christianity, go and find something that supports your belief system. Hatred has no place in the Church. Believers are commanded to love one another. But we are nowhere told to accept what God calls "sin" just so we can be inclusive. It's not called hatred. It's called obedience. It's called discipleship. It's called love.

  • Comment removed

  • @jshonert Love and obedience to God first, foremost, and always. We minister to others by serving them, by living lives of self-sacrifice. Whoever distorts God's love by focusing on the sin alone misses what made Jesus so successful. He accepted all who came to Him, but he didn't allow them to remain in their sins. "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more." Likewise, whomever accepts the sinner and fails to show them the Way of salvation has condemned the sinner to a life apart from God.

  • @jshonert Your dodge shows that you really don't understand what the Bible has to say about sin and salvation and Christ's sacrifice. I encourage you to read the Bible, study it, and determine, after doing so, if it is to be valued above the ways of the world. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean that they hate you. It may just be that there is still something you should learn. I wish you well, and pray that you make a wise decision, when the time comes.

  • as long as you uphold your hurtful and, I might add, stupid position of hate, you will continue to walk through life doing the work of Sata. Jesus Christ never made one statement against people who are born biologically formed and with the genetic expression to be gay.

you are sadly, in grade school. go on hating. you will continue to be blinded by your own stupidity.

  • Do you see the irony in your words? You accuse me of being hateful, but it is you who resort to name calling and wild assumptions that, just because I have a different opinion than you, that I'm doing the work of Satan. I believe what is revealed in the Bible to be correct, and you don't. We can choose to disagree and still be civil toward one another, though. One day, we will find out which one of us was correct. Until then, is it too much to ask that we respect one another, if not to agree?

  • @jshonert To make a comment re your statement "Homosexuality is a sin". I disagree completely. Who are you to judge God on his decision to allow people of this persuasion to be born? He has the last say when it comes to matters of this kind, He wouldn't wickedly put a child on this Earth to be vilified by narrow minded people like you. There was a situation in my country where a Bishop refused to give Communion to devout young men because they were wearing Rainbow Sashes! Nice Christian eh!

  • Agreed man, whether these people like it or not. It's in black and white in the Bible.

  • We need more of this type of humor. She is hilarious!

  • Finally and this is mainly for the Agnostics and Atheists: Just for fun, Google J.R.R. Tolkein and then C.S. Lewis. Read about the one thing these 2 literary giants shared in their later years in England. What you read will astound you as both were scholarly men who searched for the truth their whole adult lives. They were both Christian apologists and

one died a devout Roman Catholic. You will not read of this in the NYT.

    Peace and Love, BB43

  • About abortion: If you think it's okay to kill babies @ any stage of development then you have some serious growing to do. To condone the murders puts you in the same category as the persons who masterminded the holocaust & 9-11. Study at length the First & Greatest Commandment and be happy, be kind, TRUST in GOD! Love one another, try to promote peace instead of hate/intolerance.

  • Now if anyone would like to know what the RCC believes & teaches go "Catholic Answers" out of CA. Ask any question whatsoever and get the truth instead of spreading falsehoods. Do yourself and friends a favor and study this site for the truth and you will feel better about yourself.

  • Folks this is a comedy and this woman is an actress. This is supposed to be funny so have a laugh already. God knows we can use one. I am a

Roman Catholic woman who co-exists happily in a predominantly Shia Muslim country. If it were true that they want to kill us all I would be dead.

I am very much alive and love it here. I meet warm and kind muslims daily. Enough said.

  • 'Maripat Donovan was born in Chicago, attended Catholic grammar school and high school on the South Side of Chicago, and Loyola University on the citys North Side. In 1993, Maripat created Late Nite Catechism. She also originated the role of Sister in Late Nite Catechism, subsequently starring in the show in London, Dublin, Toronto, and major cities throughout the United States.'

    Just to clear that up.

  • @BahrainBaby43 Yeah, sure you do.

  • @tjttzcspplt Excuse me?

  • I love the Catholic religion, except when I see countries like Haiti, who need more than anything else, to practice birth control. How can anyone think it is right to have child after child with no way to feed or care for them?

  • The Haitian people do not have to 'have child after child;' like the rest of the world they refuse to control themselves and therefore others must suffer.

  • Not all Muslims want to kill infidels. Those are the radicals. Kind of like the radical Christians who picket with hateful signs, etc. Religion is for intellectual weaklings.

  • Now, I do agree there, I know a doctor and is my friend, who is a very friendly Muslim.

  • sadly while I do agree that not all Muslims want to kill those that disagree, and I respect that, it is quite telling when the prophet of Islam partakes in the very same killings that the "radicals" do today. But what did Jesus do? He professed peace and love for all peoples and practiced what he taught instead of inciting his followers to war as Mohammad did.

  • @glynnt54 Your arguments might hold a little water if you weren't talking about things that happened hundreds of years ago. If you think the Catholic Church today has anything to do with acts of the Church during the Middle Ages, then you have shown yourself to be as blind as you appear to be. It would behoove you to make credible arguments about the Church of today, and not of some secret alliance with the Nazis. Otherwise, all we read is "asldkfj sdfjhfk safhjfkhs jfsfkjsf asdfkjf."

  • Comment removed

  • Come-on people. This is a stand-up comedian not a theologian of the church and certainly not the authority on the Catholic faith. Lighten-up!

  • you are wrong actually, she is a real nun. And what she is saying is pretty much what Catholics believe, only with a humorous twist put in so that people might listen more to what is said. I am Catholic and I find this wonderful :D
