  • Glad I found this! I really like your video :)

  • I gave the new site design a test run for a month now. I like the old design better as it allowed me to scan 4 categories stories at once. If I am looking for a specific topical story the old site is much better. I prefer the dashboard design of the old stite

  • I don't like it.

  • how many negatives comments do you guys need?

keep the "new design" for yourself , but give us an option to turn it off and go back to our loved "old design" or whatever you want to call it

  • Why fix what was not broken?!?!?

  • Hate to say it, but after 8 years of using Google News, I've decided to try out other news aggregators out there.

The reason has everything to do with the HORRIBLE redesign. I do not find the new changes helpful at all.

  • Google News SUCKS now. I'm going back to Yahoo.

  • Bing news is a lot like the old Google News too. Disclaimer: I am not in any way associated with Bing or MIcrosoft. Just getting real tired of Google.

  • I changed to ask news. You are correct almost looks exactely like the old google news site.

    Thanks dean4516

  • @Nanstein66 You're welcome. I ran across that site while reading a blog about the new Google News. It was a relief because now I can skim through things again like I used to on the old news. It was enjoyable reading the old version. Reading the new version is too much scrolling and fussing about.

  • F U google, I used to love to use google news, especially the Flipbook on the bottom and you got and trash it. I can not even use this shit now, thanks.

  • Found a news site( Ask.com News)that looks almost exactly like the old Google News. Hope this link works:

HAHAHA - Google won't let me post the link!!!

    You'll have to google: Asknews

  • @dean4516

Thanks for the info about Ask News. It is definitely better than the disgusting horror that is now Google News

  • Comment removed

  • LOL oh and when you need a whole page to explain how your NEW news page works, you have failed before you started.

  • Google news is a Tool!!! Yes indeed it is. Huge Tool. And you guys are all tools who run it.

  • Yes this sucks

  • I hate the redesign so much. I don't want an over-personalized news experience—I read the news so I can get different perspectives on world events, NOT to get stories that fit my worldview because they're similar to other stories that I "like." I'm one of google's biggest fans, and Google News was my favorite google product (second only to gmail, maybe). Now I can't use it. Please change it back, or add an option for "Google News Classic" or something.

  • I've been reading the Yahoo! News page over the past week, definitely not my fave, but better than the random piece of shit Google News turned into recently. I kind of keep hoping someone at Google is paying attention. But as always, "the lights are on, but no one's home" at Google HQ.

  • The new design just plain sucks. I've switched to other news sites that have categories like Google news used to have. As they say, IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT. What genius made this decision?

  • terrible. not easy to read. simply bad layout design. i dont read Google News anymore since the new layout......simple truth.

  • Simply change your region to Canada (English), then customize to add U.S. Done.

  • These idiots ruined a perfectly good news page. I simply can't use it anymore.

I DON'T WANT GOOGLE TO CHERRY-PICK EVERYTHING I READ! Sections were already a pain but this is ridiculous.

AND I REALLY DON'T WANT "TOP STORIES" LIKE JAKE PAVELKA, CAMMI GRANATO etc. FORCED DOWN MY THROAT!!!!

  • All good things must (come to an) end.

Prov. All experiences, even pleasant ones, eventually end. It's time to leave the party, honey. All good things must end. We've had a lovely visit, but all good things must come to an end.

  • Formerly: "I'll Google that" was like when a company name evolves into a universal verb for a process. For example - " Xerox that" became the default verb for "photocopy that".

Now: "I'll Google News that" means: "I'll take a good thing and turn it into a cluster F**kin mess !?!?!

  • CHANGE IT BACK.. PLEASE! This is the NEW COKE of Website changes.

  • Here's what I don't like about the page:

    - Single column layout makes the page much longer. The 2 column classic look was perfect.

    - The many links and widgets on the two sides make the whole think look very cluttered

    - The mouse over is immensely annoying

    - The "flip" row used to be nice at the end instead of being forced into a corner.

    - Overall look is very messy and conufing. Shorts a few brain cells each time I look at the page.

  • Google, please please give me my old new page back. I hate this new layout. I've tried for a over a week to get used to it but I can't. It's plain horrible!!

  • Thank you Google for curing me of my addiction to your service.

  • FAIL.

  • Why is News different? Because some idiot had to F... it up!

  • First the horrific fading homepage crap, now this utterly Epic Failure. Google now officially sucks hard.

  • Is there some kind of Google version of the "Peter Principle" going on here? Where someone (most likely a bean counter) has been promoted to their highest level of incompetence, and nobody in the organizations dares to utter a word of criticism. Or maybe Google is following Dilbert cartoons as a business model, without grasping the fact that Dilbert is sarcasm.

And now Google wants me to sign up for Google Chrome after this bonehead redesign?!?!

  • first the youtube redesign...and now this? fuck all these ugly, retard-made layouts!

  • The extra lines of news stories that appear when you mouse-over a new item are extremely annoying. Your mouse activates the stupid thing somewhere above your gaze and whatever you are reading gets jarred in front of your eyes. Awful. Please at least fix this visual annoyance.

  • Please change back to the old layout, or I will find myself a new news site.

This is certainly not an improvement and all you do is upsetting loyal user.

  • This new format is awful! I used to read Google News many times a day. No More. Just when you get the thing to display the stories you want in the order you want them, they go and make a change. I can't be bothered learning how to customize a new page especially if it's going to change without warning. I don't need to know new key strokes to navigate a news page, and I'm quite capable of emailing a story to friends with out any new applications. If it ain't broken google it! Flogging Idiots!

  • The new Googles News is definately a TOOL! But not in the good sense of the word.

  • google fucked up youtube layout and now the news

  • This new redesign sucks. Everything I want to read is in one column so I can't scan the page for stories as easily anymore, it takes much longer. You don't let me choose how many news headlines I want so I only get 1 or 2 headlines for every subject I have entered. I have to click to expand more. Half of the page is wasted with garbage news information I don't care about like World Cup scores. This redesign is crap, please fix it or restore the old version.

  • Why does everything Google redesigns lately suck so much? You've lost the plot, Google!

  • change it back so i can read the news again!!!

  • Restore the 2 column layout or it's off to Yahoo News --- I can fully customize my layout there.

  • The new version is terrible, I'd really like some horizontal scaling. not using my available screen area (1920x1080) is just plain stupid. Also, the loss of the ability to reorganize individual news sections is bad design imo.

You've made the google news site a place that I rarely want to visit.

  • I am SO pissed! Just like YouTube ... You "brainiacs" have totally destroyed something that was pure and very good. These recent changes to Google News have made it WORSE than useless. This is not a problem with learning curve. How arrogant !! How 'bout you freaks not just make assumptions about what I DO NOT want to read, huh? This is very (repeat!) very bad ! Whomever "instigated" these changes is a moron ... an evil moron! ... Please put it back the way it was.

  • i dont get it. i dont really see any difference between the old and new. there really isnt anything wrong with the new one.

  • ok its official, i am never using google ever again.. i have switched all my comptuers to bing.. what a shame that google has gone soooo down hill.. to the point of being so frustrating that i would rather use bing.. good job google.. was nice knowing you.

  • so what instead of fixing the actual problem your going to hide comments!! WOW so lets see if your willing to censor comments about your crappy system, i wonder if that means your willing to censor the news too.. just another reason to stop using google.. this is nauseating.. seriously..

  • "Google News is a Tool.." I couldn't have said it better myself. :-)

  • Google is killing itself with this shithead of a move. This will not stand and you are going to start seeing people leaving the sinking ship knows as google.

It's a bullshit move, taking control away from you and funneling what you see. You want to talk about the straw and the camels back, this is it folks. They really could give two fucks about their users, they only care about the money. Fuck Google and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

  • This redesign sucks. I hate it. I filled out your survey and told you how much I hated it. I even changed browsers to IE to use the classic news site, but now you have forced IE users to view the new site. Please fix the news site. This is a terrible redesign.

  • The new page is a waste of real estate with the 2 new columns on the left and right.

In other words ... it SUX.

    Put it back ....

...................and while you're at it remove the auto refresh that happens and makes me loose my place on the page.

  • useless redesign, completely inadequate communication with users, horrible arrogance by google.

  • Horrible design, I read Yahoo news now :-)

  • The layout is terrible. I have other sources for news, especially "Top Stories". I don't want to see them again when I come to the Google news page. I don't want to see Recent, Spotlight, or Weather. I am a soccer fan but I don't want to waste space here for World Cup scores. The new column format makes me scroll down twice as far, compared to the old two-column format. What's especially sad is that the old layout was much, much better than everyone elses, and there's no option to restore it.

  • For everyone who hates this redesign, thumb down this video into oblivion. Maybe that'll get someone's attention.

  • You have completely ruined Google News with your pathetic and incessant need to keep changing it. Also, I agree with all the other posters that have said that this just makes it easier to censor stories. Buzz was the tipping point and now people are thankfully starting to see through your BS. Do no evil, my a**.

  • i love how when you click the more stories link, it expands and then clicks the 1st link automaticlly, wasting more of my time, this google news is not really starting to piss me off... seriously everyone start posting alternatives for better news services I am done with google for news.. this is seriously infuriating!

  • can someone post some good alternatives to google news? i can't seem to find any, which is a shame in itself but perhaps now there is some incentive for some programmers to whip some up.

  • @MisterBouncyBounce I've been working on coding just that for the past few days - today I finally got my domain up and running - breakingnewsfeeds (dot com) check it out. I designed it that way because simple is better!

  • Still not one reply from user "GoogleNews" eh?

  • the only good thing google has ever done is search, everything besides that has been mediocre to bad. google is putting people in the position to root for MS to get bing right. they lie, pry and invade your privacy. "they do evil".

  • I've been looking for a news sites with a layout similar to the "old" Google, but without success. Anybody out there have suggestions?

  • its not worth telling google or any other big company anything. the best thing to do is to find an alternative and silently walk away. let them wonder why, let them guess, why give up that info just so they can use it against you? i don't want to "help" google. the "help us to make it better" thing is one big fat lie they all tell.

  • great news Google! I knew you were an equal-opportunity employer, and it seems like you even employ braindead idiots and let theö redesign your *previously* perfectly functional services!

  • My biggest objection is that, in addition to the sections we can choose, there are now several sections on the right which it appears we cannot control. It should be obvious that users want to decide for themselves what news sections we want to see. Come on Google, show your users some respect and let us decide on these changes for ourselves! Also, the new News layout requires way too much vertical scrolling to see the same number of stories. Bring back dual column news sections!

  • No no no, this sucks so bad, change it back!

  • dear google,

    youtube.com/watch?v=51cHJjjEz_A

    please stop raping us

  • I hate the way the news is set up now. I liked how it was set up before it was like a front page. Now it is just a long list of crap. I liked the feel of organization before now its just a big pile of nothing . please allow people to chooses the old view.

  • Comment removed

  • I do NOT like the change.

I can't rid of the huge Sports info in the Spotlight section, and I DON'T want it there.

  • 24+ hours later and I still hate the new google news.. please put the old one back or at least make this new one optional... honestly this news it not for me.. and if you really want to know what news sources i dont want to see.. its the entire new version of google news!! BOOOOOOOOO!

  • Did they not learn their lesson about drastic changes with the Google.com wallpaper thing ?

  • Turrible.

  • HATE IT. HATE IT. HATE IT.

  • Well, I guess I'm done with Google. I don't think it would be so bad if they would accept comments and concerns, but they're so cocky they think their shit don't stink.

  • How stupid do you think Americans are? Google yourself and find out that you are getting way ahead of yourself. You think that somehow you can manipulate all of us. No, not me. I am done with Google News.

  • What happened to Google News? Maybe the vast majority of Google News users think newsworthy and popularity are synonyms. If that is the case, then Google News need not worry about the rest of the country finding another forum to provide a quick overview of the news.

While a little different in format from Yahoo and MSN, this is the same drivel. I would hate to think that we have to use CNN or Fox News.

Google needs to at least offer the old format as an option.

  • Google does not care what you think!

Google received extremely negative feedback about the "test" versions of the revised News page. Everyone who commented wanted to revert to the original version. Did they listen to any of that feedback? Apparently not.

Which leads one to wonder, what kind of arrogant managers or engineers work at this company? Who think they know best in spite of massive user comments. Do you suppose it has anything to do with the fact that most Google engineers have Phd's?

  • @wjcroft

Haven't you heard? We mere mortals cannot fathom the intricacies of Google's divine plan, their invitation for feedback was a little game to amuse themselves with us.

How could we ever know what is good for us?...

    /sarcasm over.

This reeks of uppity hipster interns left to their own devices, where is their adult supervision?

  • The "updated" Google News website format is really, really, really disappointing.

    01. Poorly laid out.

    02. User Interface redesign requires viewer to SCROLL, SCROLL, SCROLL, (and SCROLL some more) to find news articles that they may be interested in.

    03. News articles are thrown together like a mixed salad ... Sports News on a couple of lines, then Entertainment News, back to Sports, then to World News, etc.

    04. Original News format was easier to navigate.

    05. Please change back.

  • I Hate IT!

I want the old style back.

How do I get the World Cup info back?

  • @yposurfer: I have the World Cup info (USA resident). But I don't want it at Google News, I go to other pages for my sports news.

  • I use Google News for work, and this redesign sucks. The old design was so much easier to navigate.

Hey, Google morons: If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

  • The guy who keeps thinking up these changes needs to be fired. The guy who approves these changes needs to fired too.

Sucks , first thing I check in the morning -was- Google News. Not any more. Back to Fox News or CBS.

Man I had it all set up for me too. My local weather , my local news , sections that interested me. Now its all gone.

Google has gone down hill the past year. All the changes and new stuff. Just stop ! Simple is what attracted me. Complexity will drive me away.

  • Absolutely HATE this! Google News has always been my No. 1 news source. It was close to perfect. NOT ANY MORE! What a horrible, miserable, misconceived redesign. FU to the dope that made this happen!

    Fail!

  • @rumrunner777

I agree 100% and could not have said it better. lol

  • HAVE AN OPTION TO CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!!

    I LIKE MY TWO COLUMNS!!

Business on one side Technology on the other.

Freaking Fools are just as bad as Microsoft,

They think they know what a better interface for you is.

They don't even leave you an option to set it back.

  • No, sir. I don't like it.

I want the way I receive my news to be passive. I don't want to spend half my day customizing what I think should be news. News is News whether I like it or not. If its popular its news.

Who is the idiot who thought of this?

  • This kind of thing is becoming the typical fare for the clown show at Google. Their my way or the highway approach is pissing off people right and left. They absolutely have no clue how to cultivate customer loyalty to their products. I, for one, am sick and tired of being a beta tester guinea pig for all of Google's products. Everyday, they lose a little of my support.

  • It hurtz us, make it stop!! Make it STOP!!!!

  • Here's an idea -- for everyone who hates this redesign, thumb down this video into oblivion. Maybe that'll get someone's attention.

  • This is by far the worst change Google has ever implemented. Did they even bother to dogfood their own product?

  • Fail!

  • It appears to be an overwhelmingly negative response. Appearances can be deceiving, however. Microsoft employs an army of sock puppets to shape supposed "public reaction" to articles and blogs all over the internet. Microsoft is insanely jealous of Google. You can bet that they are hard at work here. Of course some people will be upset by change. That is normal. However, it may not be as bad as it seems. These days, we cannot rely on comments to form our opinions or judge public reaction.

  • @TropicalCoder: I have no connection to Microsoft, except as a user of Windows and Office, and that's only because of necessity. But I do not like this redesign. And I'd bet you anything you like that 90% of the negative comments come from people who could say worse things about MS.

  • Awful. Arrogant. There is no way the extensive testing turned up that people who visit Google News regularly wanted it to be redesigned into this mess.

  • HORRIBLE FUCKING LAYOUT, I HATE IT,

  • @sickoicko12 Lots of people have thoughtfully articulated how badly it sucks in so many aspects, but when it comes down to the bottom line, your comment sums it all up rather nicely.

  • I guess this is what happens when you fuck with China. I can't imagine the Google that made all those awesome, elegantly simple, uncluttered designs actually WANTING to do this.

They have either been infiltrated, or have a proverbial gun to their corporate head. It's time to begin the long sad process of e-migrating away from all things Google...or at least hedging my bets by having somewhere to jump to when it's time to jump ship for good.

  • I'm not happy that you changed "My Newspaper".

There are other options on the net. Do you really want me to go to Yahoo?

  • Some people may like this change, but I hate the jumbled feeds in what used to be nice and neat sections. Allowing a classic interface link would solve my qualms. My brain registers this as chaotic and visually unpleasant. If this change invades my now Canadian setting, I'll find another source. There's always reddit and digg, but I'd like to keep something objective rather than socially up-voted (and therefore biased) mediums.

  • Ugh terrible, wtf is with the horribly cluttered new layout...

  • Comment removed

  • @TropicalCoder The old format allowed you to alter the layout so topics that are important to you show at the top (or left, or whereever you wanted) for atleast the last 4 years (how could you miss that?).

What possibilities did you see? I just saw a lot of scrolling and exposure to irrelivent content on the right hand side of the page...

  • @kidijet "What possibilities did you see?"

Because you can add news alerts for any topic under the sun - topics in my specialty... Think about it man. For example, type something into Search News, scroll down to the bottom of the page past the entries found and select "Add a custom section for [whatever] to Google News" . Bingo - you will now have an alert for any news on your chosen topic.

  • @TropicalCoder “type something into Search News, scroll down to the bottom of the page past the entries found and select "Add a custom section for [whatever] to Google News" . Bingo - you will now have an alert for any news on your chosen topic.”

Uh, yhea... that’s been there for several years now, like 2007 or so… The only difference is that I used to have more control about where I wanted that custom section to appear

  • Really sucks I spent lots of time setting it up how I wanted. Now its all gone and replaced with a horrible layout.

  • Just like everything else you have changed recently , change it back.

  • Awww ! WTF happen to my new site ?

    Dammit google.

  • What's the point in telling Google News what we think?

We tell them they took the best online news page & turned it into the worst - overnight

We tell them precisely what made it the worst - & they completely ignore excellent advice

They've succeeded in making their competitors outshine them - overnight!

Please read Google's Help page. During the "experimental" phase, ALL comments were NEGATIVE: NONE was positive - yet they still went ahead!

Thank goodness for alternatives to Google News!

  • Comment removed

  • The entire right column is worse than useless. It's clutter that contributes to visual overload. I'd like to get rid of it and have two columns of news stories like I used to have. No world cup box, no weather, no popular stories, none of the junk on the default right column.

Source demoting/promoting is nice, but source removal happens when?

REAL layout control, how about it? Which boxes, custom boxes, where they go, # of stories, list or feed, what size/shape box, font sizes, etc.

  • This myopic change is shamelessly ORWELLIAN... "Tell us which kinds of stories interest you." That's why you had Google News Alerts and a personalized homepage! This is a sneaky form of CENSORSHIP! Would the average reader selected an interest in oil dispersants or BP before the disaster? I think not. We won't know what we don't know or we're missing with this new "design". And what's with the silly "happy reading" at the end? Most news is not happy, it's tragic.

    CHANGE IT BACK, PLEASE!

  • @KeepItTrillBlog Did you not see the "Top stories" section and the "Spotlight" section? The average reader would have interest in neither of these topics that's why Google added the top stories and spotlight section! Pause the video at 0:54 and you can see that "Deepwater Drilling" is # 3 on the list! A BP topic is # 1 on the spotlight! This new design is a welcome change and is in no way "Orwellian"

  • I want my old setup back mutherfuckers!!

  • I want my old setup back or I will look for a new news site. This is the worsed ever.

The entire right side is useless. The old way was perfect !!!!!!!

    STOP messing with it.

  • I liked having the two column layout for news sections.

  • @rogybra: Why?

  • Booo!!! 2 huge problems:

    1. i used to be able to read multiple headlines and summaries per story so i didn't have to click anything to figure out what the story was really about.

    2. there used to be many youtube videos embedded which i loved watching (i wanted MORE of that, why the eff take that away?!)

  • booooooo this is really bad

  • How to RESTORE THE CLASSIC LAYOUT. 1 -Change edition to Canada English (from US Edition drop-down box)- 2 -Delete each and every section by clicking the X next to it. 3 -Click Add a Section 4 -Under Add Standard Section, set Edition to U.S. then under Section add any of the old US sections. After you do this it updates, then 5 -Click Add another section. 6 -Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all sections are added (there's like 6 of them or so). Voila! Changes will be permanently saved. You're Welcome

  • @ltclassics

Thank you for that, voted up.

I used AdBlock Plus to get rid of the "Top Stories" section, now it almost feels like the old Google News.

I have no idea why Google is so insecure all of a sudden, first the Buzz mess, then the "Bing background clone fiasco" and now this. Google's strong point has always been it's simplicity and user friendly attitude, it is what sets them apart from the rest.

Could there be dissent within the company?

  • @ltclassics Dude, your fix will only last until they update the Canada site. The video says they're starting with US and rolling out others in the coming months, so enjoy it while it lasts, because the English language ones are the lowest hanging fruit and thus probably all switched over soon.

  • @ltclassics:

Thanks; there's no Top Stories section for the U.S. though, and that's usually where the most interesting news ends up being. It's better than nothing, though.

Seriously, why does every website feel the need to butcher their layout, features and design and call it an update or improvement? At least give us an option to go back to Classic View. If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT. It's not like they're going to attract new visitors or users this way, only drive away current ones.

  • @bloodinthesnow On the U.S. version, most of the Top Stories come from the U.S. section, so the U.S. Section usually ends up being stories #4, 5, and 6 in ranking (1, 2 and 3 are left out to avoid overlap with Top Stories). But when you add the U.S. Section to the Canada version, only overlapped stories with Canada Top Stories are left out - in other words, Canada Top Stories + U.S. Section = 6 stories, 3 of which would most likely are what you are thinking of as the Top Stories.

  • @ltclassics thank you

  • @ltclassics i did the canada english thing, it did work to a degree but now i get much more canadian centric results. its not really an adequate work around.

  • @MisterBouncyBounce If you add all the U.S. Sections they should be identical to the U.S. version with two exceptions - the Top Stories Section will still be the Canada version (no work around for that that I know of) and the U.S. Section will be more like the U.S. Top Stories section than the U.S.'s version of the U.S. Section (because most Top Stories in the U.S. version come from the U.S. Section so the U.S. section normally ends up being secondary stories)

  • @ltclassics

Is there any way to change the Top Stories section to US as well? I'm getting an unwelcome number of headers about the Queen and Quebec. Thanks.

  • @ltclassics thanks for pointing out how to get back the old layout.

SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO RESPONSE SHOWING HOW TO GET BACK THE OLD DESIGN

  • @genius23a Ask and you shall receive. Video ID is ND7adwrbCys

  • @ltclassics Great, thank you! If possible you should add it as a video response to this video by google, so more people will find it.

  • @genius23a I would but it would have to be approved first and somehow I have a feeling that user GoogleNews wouldn't approve it.

  • @ltclassics yes i understand now. what i had to do was after changing to canada english was add EVERY(or most) sections under "add a standard section" and then i deleted the canadian sections of the same type. thanks for helping out Itclassics. lets hope this lasts for a while.

  • This update makes Google News a jumbled mess, at least give us an option to switch to the old (regular) format

  • Comment removed

  • Another complaint I have is that it takes a lot longer to load than before - and I can't even scroll down with my mouse wheel until its done loading. Old load time - almost instant. New load time - about 3 seconds.

  • @ltclassics have you tried with Chrome? I'm connected through a wireless tether to Sprint's 3G (that is to say, not very fast) and my page loaded quite quickly (on Chrome).

  • "Google News is a tool we introduced in 2002 to help you find important news stories..."

2010: "Google New has been updated to make it next to impossible to find important news stories."

  • First YouTube gets a crappy makeover and now Google News. This is what happens when you outsource too much.

  • NEWSFLASH: It SUCKS. Change it back or give folks the option to do so. Right now it's a mess, and judging just from the comments here, it's a big THUMBS DOWN.

    Thank you. :)

  • why is google trying to force everything on the users? Why not give them more options like before? No wonder Google wave and buzz were flop ! Has anyone found another news website that I can switch to ?

  • I learned to tolerate Google's new home page - but this Google News update is an entirely different story - it doesn't even remotely resemble what I think of as Google News. I GUARANTEE that if they don't offer a classic view option and soon that people will leave Google News in droves. I've been using it almost daily since its launch and Google has totally alienated me with this new HIGHLY INEFFICIENT layout.

  • Why are you forcing the new format on users without giving them a choice? I've already started looking for a new site.

  • why have you guys ruined google news?? how do you go back to the old version.. seriously this new version is absolute garbage.. if i had a 3rd thumb i would give this 3 thumbs down

  • Wow Google news sucks now. Have to get my news source somewhere else.

  • The entire right-hand side is now basically useless...

The Spotlight and Most Popular sections are just one unreadable mass that don't lend themselves to even be glanced at or read...I'd remove them if I could, but apparently you can't. Google, you'd do yourself a favor to add small thumbnails for news in those sections also.

Now, with only 1 real readable column of news on the left, it makes the user have to scroll even more than before = less user-friendly.

  • Is there any way to go back to the old set up? I use Google news a lot in any given day, but with this change to google news I have a feeling I won't be anymore.

  • And Now it's time to say goodbye to Google News, I have been trying to stop this addiction of following the news, but you did that for me, its so bad, I feel like I want to cut my eyes out of my head and eat it then. So what's new? nothing, you guys just made things more annoying, when the core nothing changed, so what's the difference.. Oh Crap! It's for the best, time to end this addiction anyway. Goodbye Google News, we had fun together while it lasted!

A bloody great reply! Thanks RindaDiLibda for making me laugh with your sarcasm. Really humourous. Thanks.

I mourn for the "new" Google News layout and long for the "old" (and better) Google News layout (which was my Firefox homepage).

    Bummer.

    :P

This is the first day in a long time where I didn't check Google News, I really did quit. Take care
