hi I am from Germany and a proud owner of a Dell xps M1530.

While watching your super video I noticed that my fingerprint-reader, cd-drive and the one usb is on the right side of my laptop.

VGA-Port, HDMI and stuff is on the left side.

Kind of strange.

The trackpad isn't centered because it's easier for people to use it (if they are right handed) meaning, that they don't have to move the whole hand to the middle, which is easy.

you need to have a blu ray player installed. otherwise it will just play standard dvd's

If your get a LG Phillips then it probably wont be grainy, but the other two fabricates of screens tend to be grainy, like mine. Geez .. I yearn for the engineer to cme with my LG display =)

the problem is, that the 32 bit version can use 3 gigs or like 3.5 gigs of ram, I found out about this after I ordered it too, mines the T9300 (2,5 GHz rest's same like yours) except for the blu ray

Yeah, but I'm not fully satisfied with the display though which is a samsung and they are some grainy. LG Phillips is the best, I'll ask them to change my display, many of m1530 buyers usually change to a LG, they are the best and not grainy either.

I just got mine from Best Buy a couple of days ago and I love it. Mine's Tuxedo Black but your Alpine White looks pretty damn nice! Have you had any problems with yours up until now? I've heard some are having some problems, i just don't want to run into any of those lol...

Yeah I had to do a fresh install of Vista. I was playing ghost recon online and somehow I got some sort of virus that got through my security.... really sucked... but other then that its been ok. I might sell it to get me a macbook pro.....

well thanks. You don't like osx leopard??? I don't get into that pc vs mac crap but I love osx. I just started using it last year. I've owned a mac mini and a new iMac. They were awesome. I just sold my iMac yesterday and going to see what apple releases at WWDC. If no new iMac I'm going to get the 24" 3.02 ghz one.

I had bought one early November and received it early December. I had it till new years eve when my screen started really messing up on me. I called dell and they were super nice. We ran through some troubleshooting but in the end I returned it. They emailed me the shipping form and I took it to ups. They credited me back every penny and I ended up ordering it again with better hardware for the same price..

Not really the fingerprint reader takes a little time to get used to but once you get it down its no big deal. Vista has been ok for me. I use osx most of the time but vista is good. The laptop has been worth every penny so far. I love the hdmi out..... Hopefully it will continue to be this way

I would love to but I don't own a macbook pro I own a imac. So the information I would give you would be the same if you looked at the specs online. The xps m1330 would be a better choice if you want portability or even a macbook and use bootcamp to run windows if you wanted too.

I don't have a macbook but I do have a imac. I installed vista on mine via bootcamp and it runs great. The drivers for vista are on the leopard install disc. I've had it installed for three weeks and no problems at all,

I'm just so used to using mac osx leopard. Vista is okay but I think xp and osx are way better. Vista asks you ever time you try to do something, "is it okay?", "is it okay", etc. just gets a little old!

I actually decided to return my m1530 and get another macbook. I just like leopard and the overall macbook/apple experience better. I gave vista a shot and like I said earlier it's not terrible but I just prefer apple's now I guess.

I don't think vista is that bad ( I have vista premium ) and there really aren't any noticeable problems or issues since i've been using it. I had a macbook prevously and I liked leopard as well. I think vista has a somewhat bad rep but it's really not bad, atleast in my opinion.

I was trying to decide between the black and white color but went with the black due to finding it on the dell outlet for $725 including shipping and taxes. It had 2ghz, 2gb, 120 HD etc....everything is good but the black does get fingerprints on the cover but comes off with the included cloth so not a bi g issue.

Its a little noisy, not too bad. What color lid did you get? Yes the earphones come free in the cd case holder and i used them today and they are really nice. I have a iphone and they fit into the counter sunk connector.

I think I should have opted for the faster HD rather than the larger. I'll probably upgrade to 3 or 4 gigs of ram down the line. Hopefully the laptop has one 2gb stick in it now and not two 1gb sticks.
