  • @aristocob I've been watching your videos trying to learn from you as I am a new cob smoker. Turns out we have quite a bit in common. I grew up in Hamilton, Ohio (hour south of Dayton). My wife's family lives in Kernersville NC and we visit the area often. We've talked about moving there someday. Keep the videos coming,I've learned a lot. As for stank, I smoke next to an open window or patio door and haven't had any problems with it other than breath but I brush about 1 hour after smoking.

  • @braniel2324 That's wild, wild stuff. Perhaps we are related. NC is a great place to live, but don't tell anyone else. It's OK if you want to come, but otherwise we are just about at capacity.

  • @cmasailor Sounds like a nice jacket, and you are right on the mark about the mouthwash.

  • @pipeoutlaw I like Fabreez too, but my bride doesn't like it. I got some stuff that seems to be working. Watch for a new vid soon. Scott

  • @GTFiorano I received my two jackets and need to shoot a new vid of them. I really like them.

  • @habanerohardy Too funny!

  • I smoke outside on the porch, in fact I smoked some Sir Walter Raleigh in a corn cob this evening and came inside and she said I 'stank'. Said I smelled like a cigarette. Must be the OTC burley. I just laughed.

  • @habanerohardy That's funny.

  • i find fleece, sheds the smell after one walk outside, but that is what works here, and i smoke outside...i do like the presentation jackets, what an idea, it is good to have one of these in the car Just in case...

  • i keep a couple of cans of febreeze laying around. that seems to help me.

    peace.

  • my snowboarding jacket breaths so I wear it all year long, and it doesn't stink. keeps the smoke off my clothes. brushing and mouthwash helps, but the best pre-smooch breath fixing tool is time after brushing and mouthwash. no amount of mouthwash will get all of the smoke smell if you're seconds from a kiss. I don't smoke cigars when she's around unless she's having one, I don't smoke cigs, And I don't havetaworry about it if she decides she wants to join me on the porch with one of her pipes :)

  • Axe will just make you smell like a douchebag. Those jackets are nice, too bad they are totally out of my price range. Plus I only wear black lol. I don't get to smoke near as often as I want so I dont have that smoker smell issue much. Just if I smoke in my car on the way to work. I do febreeze my car regularly. Hey btw you are a woodworker so you have skills. When are you going to start modifying cobs, and making your own stems etc?

  • @MojoMilt Thanks. Yeah, apparently I really like that jacket because I've won another on eBay and I'm bidding on another. Come and join me!

  • Glad to hear that a house has worked out for your daughter Scott - I know that must have been a rough road. Congrats on the 100th video! My wife and i were just talking about a smoking jacket the other night. Don't want to look like Hef and $1000 is too hefty. The one you found looks nice.

  • i have a smokers mouth spray for outdoor bad breath after smoking but since i smoke indoors i brush my teeth.....also i smoke in a well ventilated room so the stink goes off pretty quick.....cant say the same for the cigar smoke sadly

  • Congrats on a hundred videos Scott. It's good to have you a part kd the community. Good luck with your new jacket!

  • I just spray Fabreeze on my shirt and it takes away the smell. I also use peppermint tic-tacs or Orbit gum

  • Congrats, nickfish03! You can get some serious MM merch with that!

I have actually given some thought to a smoking jacket, but didn't realize they would be so pricey! Yikes!

    Blessings,

    David

  • I agree, wearing a smoking jaket can help alot, like the oldtimers did, And I have used it to good result I used to wear my old hat and switched it to a new hat when I came into the house of my extended fam. Also I found if you wash you hands and face after it helps greatly, I would expect all those that can and do have face hair would have more smoke smell from the smoke rolling over the face. Great video man and good subject.

  • It's pretty tricky to completely eliminate all "Stank"...Along with a sacrificial smoking jacket and strong gum, you also have your hands and hair to worry about. If you're smoking something with a decent room note and have relatively short hair, what DOES remain won't be too strong or unpleasant. Washing your hands thoroughly will solve that issue, and all that remains is whatever clothing your jacket doesn't cover, which shouldn't be significant.

  • Thanks so much!! and thanks to your daughter : )

As a response to a smoking jacket (note: I live in Minnesota), I have a heavy-weight chamois shirt I use for chilly weather fishing/smoking and a very thin windbreaker that doesn't retain any odors that I'll put over my everyday wear. If it's real cold I'll just wear my everyday down jacket and a cheap beanie (that I only use for smoking).

    Thanks again.

    Nicky

  • Congrats on the 100 vids and congrats to @nickfish03! I've started looking at those jackets. They look pretty nice!

  • Brother Scott,

Congrats on the 100th video! I, like the rest of the youtube community, have enjoyed each and every one of them.

As far as stank goes, I don't have to worry about it. I don't smoke a pipe but maybe once a day. The wife smokes Winston 100's. So, I have nothing to worry about... unless I pick up a "good to me" cigar (the darker the better). Only then have I heard some mumblings

  • Congratulations on #100! I think I've watched them all by now, even though I came to the party later than you. The Mollophant just recently posted a similar video and he found an aerosol that removes smoke odor from his clothes/etc. His videos are worth checking out if you haven't seen that one already. My personal trick is to smoke outside or in my office with the windows open. I also have an air purifier in my office. Your $50 gift certificate winner is a lucky man! Cheers- Alex

  • I have an old flannel I wear over my regular shirt. Covers the smell underneath. Also helps to smoke in a room with a fan or window open so the smell doesnt linger

  • Corngratulations on your 100th

Juicy Fruit, according to my wife. That's the stuff. Fortunately I love the stuff and you can get it without sugar if you want to.

I've been thinking of getting an over sized lab coat that will go over my jacket. In deed, leather does not absorb smells as readily as any textile. I smoke in the house but I might as well be outside since the windows are opened and the door sealed. Berrrrrr

  • Stay far far away from AXE, it's what middle and high schoolers wear because the commercials suggest women will cling to you like velcro. Not the case as it turns out due to it's fowl smell. I'd personally go with something from Old Spice.

As for your breath, I recommend Cigar Clear. It's a breath spray aimed at tobacco smokers that is said to break up the smell of tobacco on your breath with "natural oils" and mint.

  • Congrats on 100th video!

I smoke 1-3 a day and don't really get any complaints about smoke on my clothes, but for the car I use baking soda that you put in the fridge and use tag body spray and citrus spray.

  • Congrats on your 100th vid! You're a very engaging presenter - enjoy your vids. I smoke maybe only 3 or 4 bowls a week so the stale smoke smell hasn't been a problem. However I find if I'm outside at night and it's chilly I will wear one specific jacket and I never wear that jacket at any other time. So I guess THAT'S my smoking jacket?

  • I only smoke once or twice a day, and I live by myself currently so no complaints about Stank so far. Really enjoyed the Video with the Tobacco review, wouldn't mind seeing more if you get a chance. Take Care!!

  • Hello Scott! and congrats on video 100. I remember when I subscribed you were nowhere near that. So its my turn to help you! if I have a jacket that is retaining the "pipe" smell, I will put a few dryer sheets in the pockets when I hang it up at night, just make sure to use ones that you find smell pleasant! Hope this helps!

  • @henrycems I'll check out the BOD Black. Thanks.

  • @1fatbastard That's wrong AND funny! It doesn't sound like I smoke much more than you. You might be surprised by what non-smokers smell.

  • I got rid of my stank... Ill miss her! ;-) How many bowls do you smoke per day? I smoke a few bowls every other day, so smell is not an issue for me. At least I don't think it is. :-)

  • Congrats on #100 I live alone so I don't have that problem. But when I am out I use a body spray called BOD Black it's good. I am sorry you are having this problem us smokers must stick with each other.
