  • Cop car-Oh shit back up !

  • Thanks for posting that

  • GRADE CROSSING SIGNALS ACTIVATED 25 SECONDS BEFORE TRAIN ARRIVAL

Why was apparatus not moved clear?

Is the horn an artificial sound applied to the video?

This video starts too late. We miss the firsthree of the four-blast grade crossing horn sequence.

  • I'm afraid common sense and logic has left the minds of our "heroes". I almost want these trains to get rid of them so I don't get unlucky enough to be rescued by them.

  • i have been watching firetrucks half the day, the other half was amtrack mowing down random shit and animals.... but this clip is just sex

  • this never occured

  • That was the official 'OH SHIT' horn of the day. Lets try it again 0:07

  • Amtrak... Gotta love em...

  • michiganders suck

  • @bombardierdude15 is cold in the D

  • Fucking dumbass Detroit.

  • not only are these dumbasses parked in the crossing...it's a set of 4 fucking tracks!!!! jesus are they really that stupid?

  • morons. glad i don't live in that city. are those the type of people you want to save yoour life?

  • kinda cool how that cop responded though. Totally floored it when he saw that train coming. Although I'm sure there were a bunch of words coming out of him that his Mom didn't teach him for sure ! Didn't know you could go in revers that fast!

  • Cop: O_O {"train..."} "EVERYBODY RUN! OFF THE TRACKS! IT'S THE APPOCOLYPSE!" *moves car out of the way*

fire dudes: "Wha-heh? AAAHHHHHHH" *floor it at their top speed of 2 miles an hour for 30 seconds* *BOOM*

    OOPS.

    Fire Responce Time-00:00:00hrs.

    Police Responce Time-00:00:00hrs.

    Ambulance Responce Time-00:00:00hrs.-00:10:00hrs.

  • This driver had no time at all to stop or swerve and avoid the fire truck. If it happened in Detroit though, I doubt anyone noticed the wreckage for a week or two.

  • @yynnmmbb SERIOUSLY? You said that on TWO videos, TRAINS CAN'T SWERVE YOU IDIOT. They're on a FIXED ROUTE. See the tracks? It's on them, they direct the train, trains no have stearing. And detroit isn't THAT bad. Geeze. You want to say somthing stupid, then insult people who live in/near detroit. GET A LIFE AND LEARN SOMTHING.

  • People will argue over anything these days I guess

  • Firecheif: Uhh yea park your fire truck on the tracks over there for now.

    (5 min. later)

Policeman: mmm this is good coffie, OH CRAP A TRAIN! I"M OUT OF HERE

Firefighter: Whats that noise it sounds like a train. Whatever.... OH CRAP I HAVE TO MOVE

    (SMASH)

  • @just4playin1

    O.o

  • train barely budged from that

  • Better call 911.........WAIT A MINUTE!

  • @crimsonnrose lmao

  • Comment removed

  • Stupid train, supposed to give way to emergency vehicles!

  • @XxBakerxX72 I wonder how many people won't get the sarcasm.

  • "Hey Chief"

    "Yes?"

"You know that ladder truck we had?"

"What do you mean, 'had'?" "Where is it?"

"It's sort of trashed at the railway line."

    BOOM

    BANG

    POW

    KABANG

    your fired.

  • @Applachia0928 hahahahah thats funny shit!

  • No matter what as long as you are on the tracks that is bound to happen

  • Dear cheif I dont know how to say this but i fucked up, i fucked up man , im sorry P.s its not my fault the train was going too fast and this truck takes alot to get moving.

  • Well at least the fire department can log their response time as 0 seconds.

  • @Eng8492 Police too.

  • @Eng8492 Lmao. Did you see the cop car.. He was like "nuh uh, fuck this I'm not paid enough." *reverse*

  • @RidingYamaha47 Yah, what you said, and probably this also: Im backing up 10 feet so I don;t have to spend the next 3 weeks filling out paperwork.

  • @Eng8492 and or dead.. If that train impacted him he woulda been killed instantly..

  • Hey block the street off not the tracks.

  • Try explaing that one to the chief! haha

  • train should have swerved onto the other tracks. hope the driver had to pay out her own pocket for that fire truck!

  • @HelloHansSolo you can't honsestly think that a train can just swerve track, can you?

  • @rogertayloristheman of course it can you fucking douchebag, trains have steering wheels just so they can change tracks in a situation just like this. it was probably some dumb bitch who wasnt paying attention and was fucked-up on crack driving the train.

  • @HelloHansSolo Trains do not have steering wheels you"fucking douchebag", have you ever been inside of a locomotive? I didn't think so. Before you open you big mouth, get your facts in line

  • @rogertayloristheman u dumbass motherfucker cunt bitch, go grow a fucking brain, dimwit!

  • Comment removed

  • @HelloHansSolo What a nice, and educated vocabulary you have. Maybe you're the one who needs a brain, with your worthless, unintelligent "insults".

  • @rogertayloristheman Fuck you donkey shit.

  • @HelloHansSolo You show your level of intelligents time and time again... Low life scum bag.

  • @rogertayloristheman Butt muncher!

  • You get what you vote for DETROIT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It was KWAME KILPATRICK!!!!

  • Professional drivers, eh? Yeah right.

  • Anyone think to notify the railroad and tell them there was a accident and they were blocking the tracks, one of first things they should of done when they called off on the scene is to have fire alarm notify the railroad

  • Guess the ego's of the cops and firemen wasn't big enough to stop that train...lol DUMBASSES!!!

  • @just4playin1 stfu, because i bet train engineers dont instantly make way for fire trucks when their driving their car down the road, they teach us this stuff and you dont know the full situation, a lot of times if a firefighter does go on train tracks they tell dispatch to alert the railway to stop any train traffic coming through that area, and sometimes that message doesn't make it all the way to the train, so before you call anyone dumbass, get all the facts

  • @TheRescueFirefighter YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU STUPID SPERM BURPING PENIS LEACH!!! YOUR FUCKING STUPID FOR DEFENDING THEM AND SAYING IT'S THE TRAINS FAULT... YOU FUCKING MUNICIPAL SERVANTS ARE ALL THE FUCKING SAME!!! YOU ALL COVER EACHOTHERS ASSES REGARDLESS OF WHAT HAPPENED AND WHO'S WRONG!!! FUCKING MORON!!! YOU PROBABLY BEAT YOUR WIFE AND TELL HER IT'S HER FAULT SHE GOT BEAT... GO BUY YOU A BIG CAN OF COMMON SENSE AND DOWN THAT SHIT!!! DUMBASS!!!

  • @just4playin1

You're a fucking moron. The minute you said "you fucking municipal servants" you lost all credibility, which i doubt you had with your retarded CAPS LOCK button. The only ones defending the firefighters are the ones who are dumb and only fire buff. Every firefighter knows that you never place apparatus on a live rail-line unless you have radioed to dispatch to get them to stop all rail traffic in the area, and it has been confirmed that all traffic has been stopped. Jackass

  • @BC1Dan Your a fucking moron!!! Your so concerned about my caps being on in a comment to someone else you didn't even notice the validity of my comment(s) to him. Anybody that says it is the train operators fault is a complete dumbass. Another thing, typing in all caps is widely know to represent speaking loudly or strong emotion. Look at you, even now you public MUNICIPAL SERVANTS defend eachother even when they are WRONG. Credibility??? How did I lose credibility? MY COMMENT WAS CORRECT MORON!

  • @just4playin1

Do you want to know how you're a fucking moron?

Because I said the firefighters' were at fault. But It looks like you didn't bother to read that before jumping to your asinine conclusion, now did you.

Good job of confirming the fact you're a total jackass.

  • @BC1Dan Your the stupid jackass. You said I lost all credibility when I said "Municipal servants" Yet you FAILED to say how in the hell that affects credibility? Not that I need it from you. My comments speak for themselves because they speak the TRUTH..You popped off on me for how I replied to someone else's comments. That person has deleted most of their comments because he realized how stupid he sounded for saying the train was at fault. Now your sounding stupid for talking about CAPS LOCK...

  • @BC1Dan Continued: I mean really, are we in English class or something? Are you the CAPS police or something? I mean really, it's not like I misspelled any words, they are ALL readable. It sounds like you didn't have shit for an argument and had to nitpick. You got your feelings hurt by the truth and lashed out at me for stupid shit just like the other stupid fire fighter did. Don't cry or piss and moan because you got put in your place like he did. Ok I'm bored with you now, so take care. ;-p

  • @just4playin1

    Explain how I am nitpicking.

The fact of the matter remains that you are plainly stupid for insinuating that all "municipal servants" will stick up with the firefighters in the video, despite the fact that I (a municipal servant) acknowledged that it was in fact their fault, and that they shouldn't had parked the rig on the LIVE rail-road crossing.

What is funny is how you have to resort to CAPS to try to get your point across; similar to how a person that knows they are wrong

  • @just4playin1

resorts to name-calling and talking over the person because they know that they are wrong and that person is right.

Oh and by the way this is the internet. From the looks of it the only person who is getting their feelings hurt, would be you. And speaking of internet, you have an almost unlimited resource at your hand, so you would think that it shouldn't be too hard to understand what the correct usage of sentence structure would be.

    Would you like to continue?

  • @BC1Dan Blah blah blah... Fail yet again... You called me names first REMEMBER? So don't even go there... No my feelings didn't get hurt, nobody has that power over me. Now this boring so tah tah, farewell, goodbye yadda yadda yadda...

  • @just4playin1 Definition of Moron as provided by Merriam-Webster:

    Moron: A very stupid person.

I wasn't name calling. I was stating the fact that you are a moron for assuming all "Municipal servants" cover each others asses.

    And name calling? Look familiar:

"FUCKING MORON!!! YOU PROBABLY BEAT YOUR WIFE AND TELL HER IT'S HER FAULT SHE GOT BEAT... GO BUY YOU A BIG CAN OF COMMON SENSE AND DOWN THAT SHIT!!! DUMBASS!!!"

What i gather from you so far is that you have a slight mental retardation

  • @BC1Dan Wow you fit that definition of moron perfectly... ;-p

Yes I happen to know for a fact that all municipal public servants cover for each other. I know this because I wore a badge for years and have seen it first hand. Now I actually have a life outside the 15 minutes I spend on Youtube so arguing with you is like trying to clap with one hand. There is no sound but its sure funny to watch. ;-D So goodbye dear fire man, Please stay safe in your job... Have a great day... Peace

  • @just4playin1 those dumb ass's are the ones you call when your sick hurt or injured or well you property is on fire.. maybe is the railroad would work better with the fire departments which they dont we could avoid this crap..

  • @demonicwolf69 Sorry man, I am fire department of 17 years, I can call for the railroad to stop traffic on a branch, but there's no way in hell I'm parking my rig on the tracks. I'll take that back, unless the train is sitting there already stopped and I'm in contact with the crew. Common sense overrules all.

  • @kleetus92 and Ive been on 4-5 years being my town is split right down the center by a very high train trafficked area i agree i wouldn't park my rig on the tracks, the guys can walk a few extra feet. but putting down fellow firefighters like that not really cool...

  • @demonicwolf69 Yeah sure ok... I have a better suggestion, how about they just pull the truck ahead another 5 feet... Guess that's just to difficult... DUMBASS!!!

  • @just4playin1 you don't stop the suspect in a stolen train with a police cars and fire truck.

  • Seems like a stimulator video to me !

  • That cop was like 'OH SHIT!' I feel bad about that fire truck. Hope it didn't take 'too' hard of a hit :-/

  • Playing "chicken" with a fast moving train, any train, is not a smart move, neither is parking on the railroad tracks. You will lose every time.

  • This is why Quiet Zones are going to cause 50% more people to die.

  • @pimpinhector No. I am a conductor and engineer for CN and I am telling you that it's not the lack of train's blowing their horn but the fact that we live in a selfish, careless and fast paced society where people don't think about anything or anyone but themselves.

  • @GEES44DC I was going to say the same thing...but you said it better.

  • @pimpinhector Actually the statistics prove you wrong. Quiet zone crossings are safe and have fewer accidents than the same type and volume of crossings where the older conventional style of lights, gates and blowing occurs.

  • @Boss302fan We will see..

  • @pimpinhector The statistics have been compiled over the last decade or so. The "no blow" crossings have fewer accidents. No reason to wait and see. The evidence is there now.

  • @Boss302fan We will see.... ;p

  • @Boss302fan The FRA and fed's have not yet produced actual statistics for the crossings with quiet zones yetm they did release estimates years ago and private groups have done studies. However I do know that several community's down south have canceled their quiet zones because of a massive increase in accidents.

  • @jimmyp42002 For BNSF and UP the quiet zones have been remarkably safe. In addition the private studies I have seen reflect the same findings. I also know that CSXT "down south" continues to install quiet zones at the request of communities (and providing the communities fund the crossings). I acted as a consultant on several of these installations in the Atlanta area. There may have been some taken out. I don't know of any but assume you have evidence. Far more are going in however.

  • why did he stop? does he have insurance?!

  • As if blowing the horn would have helped. Like the Horn of Gondor ;) Did not help either.

  • Close for the white car

  • @MrJPort10 The white car was a police cruiser. Unfortunately, people might be tempted to state that American policemen are more intelligent than American firefighters. Which they are.... not. The guy in the cruiser was probably looking at the donut bag lying on the passenger's seat and thus saw the train approach. Moreover, he probably thought "omg, the train is gonna crush my food." ;)

  • there will always be accidents.. just learn from em and move on. no one was injured which is great, so my conclusion... FREAKIN' GREAT CLIP!

  • There's nothing "close" about that. The fire truck was totally destroyed

  • @Hearsedriver1968 I'd like to see your little plan go into action and you realize that your little pussy plan would destroy half of nations infrastructure. Nevermind the people who travel on trains which is clearly a high number, most of our powerplants receive their mediums for energy through trains. Dumbass, think before your uneducated mouth opens too wide.

  • @KnicksMIX Actually his plan would probably improve infrastructure. Amtrak's ridership is not only anything but high, but that passenger operation operates at a huge loss over most of it's routes. That tax money could be diverted to improving infrastructure.

Our powerplants receive nothing from Amtrak. Coal is transported by freight railroads.

Think before your uneducated mouth opens too wide.

  • @Boss302fan Educate yourself, too. This route and the Port Huron-Chicago route have had increasingly higher ridership over the last decade. It is the cross-country routes that lose the money and are protected by pork-barrel spending.

  • @vh16ft I work in the industry. I know the ridership figues. Yes indeed, ridership has increased over the past decade. Those lines you cite still lose money however and if the taxpayers did not cover that lose they too would be out of business. Just about the only profitable route in the US is the NE Corridor.

However, you are right in that the cross country routes are the big money losers. Those losses are far greater than these shorter "commuter" routes.

  • @Boss302fan Whatever happens, this route needs to stay in business. The state is going to buy the line from CP townline to Kalamazoo and Amtrak owns it from there to Porter IN, so there has been some progress. Still, this and other shorter routes could become profitable, just like Conrail did back in the early '80s.

  • @vh16ft It is possible but historically unlikely they will ever be profitable. Few passenger lines throughout the world are. So the fact remains that taxpayers who do not ride the line are paying a portion of the ticket price for those who do ride. But yes, some "could" become profitable.

Remember that CR became profitable by moving freight over high density lines and selling off or abandoning thousands of miles of track. they "abandoned" unprofitable lines.

  • @Boss302fan We shall see about profitability. In the mean time, let's just hope people start taking those signs that say "do not stop on tracks" seriously.

  • @vh16ft We'll see as you said. My guess is that the shorter distance commuter routes will survive and will approach profitablility on many routes.

Speaking as a qualified engineer who now manages multiple crews, I agree with your hope the public takes road crossing safety serioiusly. I am one of the few engineers of my age who hasn't been involved in a serious crossing accident. But I've been in many close calls. It definitely gets to you.

  • If WE the taxpayer stopped supporting over bloated, and mis-managed, democrat funded Amtrak, then these arguments would not be taking place. Nobody rides these filthy, poorly run trains anyhow. Shut them down once and for all, fix the roads

  • @hearsedriver1968

Nearly 29 million passengers a year is nobody?

  • i love the comments putting the blame on the train.... ITS A FUCKING TRAIN! the fire truck and that lucky ass cop who backed up in time were the ones on the tracks , could we say poor truck placement??? Park on the tracks, your gonna get hit, walk on the tracks your gonna get hit... its not rocket science for Christ sake

  • @gsarjos yea, some people dont understand trains and stopping distances when they notice danger ahead.

  • @gsarjos It appears that both the cop and the Truck were in gear. Meaning they were NOT parked.

  • I am From me Ethopia. Insult me you. Don't be cowshit me!

  • Once again a roadway intersection right next to a RR crossing. Once again a collision.

  • I'm sure that will buff out.

  • Is that a police cruiser just in front of the fire truck? wow, that train really would have made headlines if the cruiser didn't reverse, "Amtrak hits 2/3 of the emergency services"or whatever drastic headlines newspapers come up with

  • Uh, you may want to move the fire truck, um oh wait to late.

  • Lol I love these things :P well, provided it isn't my headache

  • Oops

  • I know someone who shortly thereafter got a PINK SLIP!

  • Haha that cop moved out of the way REAL quick

  • looks like the cop is thinking, "Oh f*ck, i'm getting the hell outta here"

  • That cop was like CRAAAAPPP

  • That police car got out of the way so quick. But the fact that the officer had to move it is wrong. Shouldn't be parked on train tracks. Duh.

  • "Dear Chief..."

  • 343Neverforget911 Your're wrong train have the right of way on the tracks, its the Fire Dept fault since the driver could have stopped before the tracks at a Red Light.....And you you know how many feet it takes to stop a train doing 50 mph????? plus amount of weight behind it.....Quad the amount to stop a Truck.......since theirs no real contacts between Wheel and track only Spark and friction.......

  • @t3hfuhr3r america is a 3rd world country?

  • @dunno414

No, but from the two of you it seems that you have the same grasp of the English language as someone from, say, Ethiopia.

  • @t3hfuhr3r i was just asking an honest question so theres no need to insult me. you should really try to get that chip off of your shoulder.

  • @dunno414 thanks to messiah obama we're on the way to becoming one

  • @t3hfuhr3r

I am an American and I love sarcasm. I guess since you're Canadian, you didn't realize that there are American's who know what sarcasm is.

  • @sirdorkster I live in Canada ... and I also live in North America. That makes me an American. You are from the USA. It drives me nuts when people from the USA boast about being Americans. Good for you. I am an American, people from Mexico and Brazil are Americans too. You're not special.

  • @GEES44DC I'm a United Statian. Better?

  • @GEES44DC

Hmm, never said that I was special.

  • @GEES44DC I'm kind of coming in on the middle of this, but are you saying that people born in other countries, because they are now LIVING in the United States, are American citizens? If that is what you are saying, and that was true, NO ONE would apply for citizenship once they were living here.

  • a update on this amtrak is sueing the city claiming this cost them 75,000 dollars.

  • that is one secrewed up horn

  • Woah - those firefighters are damn lucky their truck didn't derail that train! That was some jolt it took!!

People need to realise something - trains can't stop like vehicles can! And they can't swerve! Besides, even IF they had warned the control center of an accident near the rails 1) unless it involves the rails directly trains won't stop. 2) the train may already have passed the last red light between itself and the accident, therefore it wouldn't stop anyways.

  • @MaxiWerkz Believe me, if they had called the railroad, they would have gotten the train stopped. I have personally called in an emergency (semi stalled on the tracks), and an approaching train was notified over the radio within 20 seconds of me calling. They stopped.

  • @UPTRAIN agreed...and assuming you don't have norfolk southern on speed dial, can't you just get jumper cables and short out the track and stop the trains?

  • @jfsa380 Huh? Are you thinking that this train is powered like an American Flyer model train? Not.

Absent a third rail and overhead wire, the train is clearly diesel-electric powered.

Were you to try your suggestion of shorting out a third rail, as soon as you made the second contact, you would have an awesome copper explosion. In your hand. Not good. Try again.

  • @woodscritter no, i mean the track circuits for the signaling system

  • &&&&&&This is what happend the firetruck and police were both coming from the same place they decided officers were already on the cene the weather was to cold so they decided to stay in theyre warm veichels and keep eating and drinking theyre coffee and donuts when the train honking polices car moves back firefighter starts moving but to late . you can actually see a donut fall after the police car moves back it lands near the tracks this is not funny they should of thought of safety first .

  • 25 seconds of warning!

Crossing signals activated at minimum of 25 seconds before train arrival.

PLENTY of time to get apparatus out of foul of the tracks.

Fire truck engineer is to blame and also officer for allowing engineer to park there.

No need to shut down tracks for a vehicle accident nearby the tracks.

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard They also could have just gotten on the scene, and the message may have not gotten to the train engineer yet. And like others have said, they usually do not shut down tracks unless there is a major incident that would interfere with train traffic (i.e. fire close to the tracks, smoke, etc.) or if there is a derailment.

  • Rule number 1... always assume the tracks are live and a train will show up anytime and in either direction.

Rule number 2.. never assume the line is shut down... see rule number 1.

In the US, railroads do NOT shut down the line arbitarily unless the train has been in an incident and needs to be investigated. Derailments are another reason for obvious reasons.

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard How do you know the details anyway? I work for a major railroad here in MO anyway and we DO NOT shut down tracks under any circumstance like this. Trains always have the right of way when it comes to ALL vehicles and pedestrians. You obviously don't know anything about trains anyway, they are called locomotive engineers in the US, not train operators. Idiots like you need to stop defending that waste of space fireman. MI might be different, but MO does not shut down tracks

  • Probably talkin on the cell phone..."hey dude wats up??? Oh me?, nothin,,, just drivin a firetruck....So wats goin ouuunnnn. BAAAM!

  • @KinetikPlayground That is funny!!!

  • close call my a#%....he clearly hit the truck..lol..

  • dude that was awesome ... the Cop car was like ... " oh hell no "

NEVER stop on train tracks EVER !

    fire truck driver Fail

  • Funny how that was ladder #13, guess not such a lucky number after all

  • @pmmatchett "well chief, now we've got two trucks"

  • ooooo snow

  • Oh Detroit

  • Well at least those fire guys didn't have to respond very far for their next call, train vs vehicle. I bet they thought someone called the train dispatcher and closed the tracks for that area. No fire guy in his right mind would park his rig on tracks for no reason. Seems like a breakdown in communication here. LoL at that cop throwing it in reverse and getting the hell out of there. Bummer for the fire rig though. Hope nobody was hurt.

  • that is not a "close call" at all

  • Comment removed

  • in the UK as far as i'm aware we dont have quiet zones

the majority of crossings have a W sign before the crossing meaning "bloow your whistle or horn"

but this is proof that quiet zones are dangerous but also you have to blame the driver of the fire truck because the gap on the other side of the crossing obviously wasnt big enough for the truck to go across the crossing safely

  • Fatality.

  • looks like an intersection to the right side? Had such a dangerous crossing also in Germany until some years ago

  • lmao that cop said fuck this! im out

  • Another eone bites the dust

  • @tornspeedo with that fire truck down, its gonna be another one rides the bus! lol

  • Did you notice that when the train hit the truck it BARELY shook??

  • another classsic example of why quiet zones are dangerous, any why trains should be blowing their horns for every crossing.

  • @Cand0002 You are completely wrong here. The train did blow its horn as they are instructed to do in quiet zones given emergency situations. In addition, statistically speaking quiet zones that are signalled with quad gates are safer than regular gated crossings where the horn blows.

  • @Cand0002 Quiet zone crossings are statistically very safe. Much safer than those protected by single gates with the trains blowing.
