  • to ease the recession we need to export more goods and import more money. BUT that would weaken other countries. If one country is in a state of prosperity then another country must suffer. It cant be evenly spread

  • a 19/f home alone with webcam f

  • The government does spend to much money on themselves for personal reasons and does not try and help out the american people. It really pisses me off when I watch government officials spend tax payers dollars on wining and dinning, for campaining and still don't care about the lower and middle class people. The government needs to walk in other peoples shoes and see what it really is like out there in this world, instead of acting like they do know what is going on.

  • 95 yrs of lies - we accepted a central bank in 1913 which is still unlawful. The puppet masters have created a military industrial complex from the unlawful tax on our labor. Now it's time 2 leave this planet or serve this tyrannical power structure. Lying 2 ourselves n this age of information is not useful. This looting of our corporation/country is all by progressive administrative deception. Our leaders are Satanist & cold blooded liars and murderers.

Be made new in Christ then go buy bullets

  • ha my last name is fink too.

  • the ferrari hat? fink people are hatin on ur hat haha

Im an econ major with this kid, he's on point.

  • Fuckin Schoolboy Maloy here takes an economics class and hes got it ALLL figured out.

Hey tell me about the model of supply and demand as it applys to that stupid HAT!

  • republicans are spending like democrats on capitol hill. The last budget proposal contained more pork than ever before. The solution. Ron Paul in '08

  • How the hell can you tell that this guy is smart? The video is only a minute long and he's saying the same shit that the drunks down at the bar are saying.

  • not only are you smart but CUTE as a bug! i take from what you've said that you'll be voting for ron paul...just finished his new book. i would highly recommend it to you. i would also suggest having a bucket nearby because as you learn how terribly corrupt the system has become, you may feel the need to vomit.

  • yeah smart and cute. Where do you live? lol

  • ur gay

  • that's great. You are so cogency. Actually, I never think about cutting down on superfluous spending. But, when I watched your clip, you satisfied me. I agree your idea because you believe "the real culprits are the governments". If you read my commen, I believe you are so patience. Because it's solecistic.:)

  • i agree wit everything and btw dude u related to sum chick anmed kayla?

  • well said, Jeff...The US really needs to think twice abt its spending and involvement in costly wars, propelled by corporate interests. No to tax cuts or corporate tax breaks. You could relly what kind of stupidity makes some ppl post the silliest comments

  • varey good

  • Jeff fink is right, the problems will be with the rise of china india brazil and south america; the US will be competing for diminshing resources with a dwindling working demographic and a failing economy. Welcome to the 21st c.

  • Then you and this Kid probably don't see eye to eye. I'm also an econ major. When the children of Taiwan were "saved" from the evil sweatshop they worked it they all became unemployed. Needing to eat still the child prostitution rate soared through the roof. Life isn't always that simple.

  • No ur rite it isnt but then again if u wer Nike executive or big bosses would u use that az an excuze to give them ridiculous wages? I certainly hope the anwser is no ^^

  • As a consumer you can choose not to purchase from Nike. The real 'culprits' are the governments of these countries. Labour laws are important. I don't blame corporations as much (though often time there is guilt). Though, I don't support this idea that they deserve American wages... that's ridiculous. Again, i'd rather them in sweatshops that prostitutes.

  • Shut up, retard.

  • he's right though... bush voters are as scared by big words as they are of things like "evolution" and "stem cells" you can't say "fiscal responsibility" or "superfluous spending" you have to say "we should not spend money we do not have" in fact, you should tell them that baby jesus or dale earnheart came to you in a dream and said it.

  • I second that. Whatever happened to fiscal responsibility? Unfortunately, none of the current candidates seem to agree.

  • I'm guessing 'superfluous' was in the vocab section of the text that week.

  • we need to cut down on stupid videos like this one.

  • As far as what the Fed actually DOES, it is usually to counteract the stupid fiscal policy that the president and congress implement. In todays case, for example, they are pursuing rapid expansionary policy to inflate the money supply so that it will be easier for people with forclosing homes to pay off their debts, and so solve the mortgage crisis.

    G. Bush pursued expansionary supply-side economics, which is awesome in theory, except for the fact that it doesn't work.

  • I believe that I am neither, seeing as how I just finished a course on Macro and Microeconomics.

Monetarists believe that economic stability can only be achieved by increasing the money supply by 3-5% a year, and that the market will correct itself. The reason for the expansion is because we have an expanding economy, and if no money was added to the money supply, as businesses and population increased, there wouldn't be enough currency to go around, and the dollar would continuously deflate.

  • first... ban lobbyists forever...

second... cut all federal taxes in half immediately...

third... allow people to take care of themselves with their own money...

if you need government assistance, you apply for it and they will take care of you... i don't need to be forced into anything...

the government is in place for emergencies and protecting it's people ONLY... not to provide everything for me, including how to tell me what's best for my child... I KNOW WHAT IS BEST... ME

  • That way, money doesn't become lost through the grapevine of government buildings, which causes "superfluous" spending and inefficiencies.

  • Anarchy will solve everyone's problems! Yes let's riot at the DNC like Rush Limbaugh suggested!

In case you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic. We need more centralized state governments to allow for more individualization and less board spectrum government. Anarchy would be utterly ridiculous and unachievable and total control, well we all know how that would work out. Ex: Europe pre/during WW II.

  • Ha Ha Ha this video is so funny. This guy's so crazy!! kutos

  • We wouldn't have a flexible money supply if it was backed. That would make the money supply very tight, inflate the price of precious metals, and drive up interest rates horribly.

  • ok fine then interest rates are the problem, dump the federal reserve

  • Hahahah! Do you know what the federal reserve is? Well it isn't a big pile of money.

The only reason that the fed can control the interest rates as it is is because our money is backed by nothing. That way, you can change how much money is in the market in a safe and easy way. If we had it backed by hold, we'd be required to purchase gold in order to expand the economy, which could make money vastly more expensive to produce. That would NOT lower government spending.

  • go watch zeitgeist then get back to me

  • Okay, that movie is so economically skewed, it isn't even funny. The facts that they present are absolutely false, and in the future, don't get your "information" from youtube consipracy theorists. That video was wrong on so many levels, it isn't even funny.

And the reason why we need to continuously expand the money supply isn't because we have debt, it's because we have an EXPANDING ECONOMY.

Geeze, at least read up on some basic economic principles before you go spouting this crap.

  • dont just make blanket statements. elaborate a little ,,,what about the movies facts do u think is skewed

  • As far as Zeitgeist...

    1. The federal reserve does NOT loan money to the government, it buys government securities on the open market, which anybody over 18 can do.

    2. 85-95% of the money generated by the reserve returns to the treasury, they DO NOT keep their profits.

    3. The federal reserve is a Quasi-Public institution, it is owned by the people, and serves the people.

    4. Borrowing on margin is illegal

    5. Gold backed money==super tight money supply, which means high interest rates.

  • You are misinformed or ignorant. Please hit the books or web to learn about our monetary policy. You can start with the NY feds web-site. Also, examine the events of 1944 through 1971. Good luck.

  • we need reform america! kick those lobbyists out first thing, then cut down on the military industrial complex, quit printing money backed by nothing. stop spending is the first rule to financial recovery, we obviously cant stop spending but we can cut down tremendously. and we cant solve all the countries problems in 4 or 8 or even 10 years but we atleast can get one thing solved at a time, which is what we should be doing. solving one major issue every time we elect a new pres.

  • I would guess he thinks Bush invented superfluous spending since he has run up a national faster than all the presidents before him combined. Usually the next argument is, "Well we have a war going on" er how many wars were there in the 20th century and yet even adjusted for inflation he trumps the whole last century in bankrupting us... wake up people...

  • This cock took 1:03 to tell me the economy is bad? He said one point that can be expressed with a single sentence, and dragged it out for 1:03. And really, "superfluous"? He probably just learned that in college and felt like using it to sound like he knows what he's talking about.

    Fag.

  • retard - wow, I pity the americans who aren't retarded when you have to put up with morons like this. How republican - bitch and use derogatory language to deride other people

I for one hope the US crumbles as we're all better off without the American president in the world driver's seat

  • Go suck a cock you asshole. I read on your profile that you like guy on guy stories.

You weird faggot. SUCK IT. ASS.

  • hahahahaha what a sad little weirdo you are

  • piss off

  • Yeah, so lets vote in a Democrat, because they aren't Socialist or notorious government expanders. Neither Obama nor Clinton want to bankrupt America with national health care....... I can't believe this kid thinks Bush invented superfluous spending... Academia is embarrassing.

  • I agree whole-heartedly with your comments, except that it's been going on since long before Bush became president. Neither party seems to have any interest in addressing even dicretionary spending, much less the bigger issue of entitlements. And Hillary, Barrack or McCain, whoever becomes the next president, will likely only make things worse.

  • You are quite right, and well say! Don't listen to people like johnnyb713456, some people lack the brain power to be more constructive.

  • where does government spending capital come from?

    the American tax payers

or worse, it is borrowed from other coutries, such as China

  • well said my friend lol, in Australia it is against the law not to vote and u can be fine so i just walk in get a paper write Suck my balls asshole, put it in the box done :D all govt are assholes and yes i do tax evade cuz i don't want them cunts to get my money!

  • Our recession has only to do with two facts. 1 plp are not increasing in wages as fast as our expenditures are increasing. Americans spend more than they make due to credit banks will give us. We do have to have more control of our governement. If gas prices keep raping us with no alternative fuel source in site our economy will not turn itself around. I own a business and see it's effects and have to continue to raise my prices to cover my continued increased costs all caused by fuel increase

  • the volume is too low

  • he 'knew'

  • Of course, SCLARK, people didn't vote for Ron Paul. He's flaky. Believes in the friggin' gold standard. As if we can (and should ) go back to the 1890s or wheneve, when the government was small and all was right in the world. As if other countries that are advancing used that brain dead nostalgia.

We can't go back. We need to go forward.

  • WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

  • hes talking about controlling govt spending

  • Americans continue to vote for big spending politicians who promise everything but the moon to get elected. All they end up doing is moving this nation ever closer to bankruptcy and third world status. Ron Paul would have ended the trillion dollar war and the IRS, but Americans soundly rejected both of those ideas in favor of more big government spending.

  • Out hgjh of all the lame comments I've read, yours was the most sensible, responsible one. thank you

  • 1) Declare martial law.

    2) Arrest all Republicans.

  • What you really need to do is to ban guns except those used by law enforcement.

  • i think americans should have more guns

so that you can all shoot each other to

kingdom come.then bomb the the fuckin place!

  • 07510david,

    That was a pointless comment.

  • Its really simple, Just end the federal reserve, quit policing the world and let a free market regulate itself.

  • Americans are too brainwashed to understand economics.

  • yah America kinda sucks....lets all move to Canada free beer and health care for all ^_^

  • ur hot

  • Just think about the money we could have saved if we haven't went to war. Trillions of dollors over 5 years with more on the way if some people have there way. If you don't see a link between the war and our ecomony then you are blind.

  • if war does anything it helps our economy most of the money spent by our government goes to the people of our country to spend

every depression was seceded by a war

  • So wrong. Sorry. We've had one depression and it was prolonged by war.

  • i agree about our economy!! that is so true i hope Obama can help solve that issue

  • oe yleo

  • I couldn't agree more. First thing we do is we arm the General Accounting Office. Heavily. They can kick in the doors at Blackwater and KBR, "accidentally" shoot a couple of suits to let everyone know that they're serious, then bring in the accountants.

"Okay, Mr. Jones, let's put it like this... yesterday you had nine million apples, but today you only have seven million. Where did the two million apples go?"

    "I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS!"

    *bang*

"Guard, bring in the next one."

    "Yes, sir."

  • Nice Ferrari hat. Is a Ferarri superflous spending? Hmmmm...

  • So yes, jonah, the president has the power to create a recession. Cutting taxes while pissing away almost a trillion dollars in Iraq, that won't pave the road to prosperity.

  • BUSH IS A KNOB! SO WHAT!?

  • I wonder if his mamma gave him permission to be on camera? LOL

  • No war-No Recession. As simple as that. Look at the amount of debt the bush admin has put us in due to the wars. Fuckin ridiculous.

  • FAIR TAX!! The politicians don't want you to know about it. The "Fair Tax" takes away all the 'superfluous' power the Rep's and especially Dem's. That's why they turn your head the other way and toss you a rebate bone every now and then.

  • Blame all of your problems on Bush. Do you feel better? And where did you learn superfluous from--real impressive.

Coming from an independent, just wait and see what the democrats will do to our taxes; it's their bread and butter economic tool.

PEOPLE LEARN ABOUT THE "FAIR TAX"!

  • dude bush didnt create the recession. he has no power to do that. its just the fed res keeps jacking up the interest rate which helps us in the beginning but screws us in the long run

    ron paul suckas

  • Nice Econ 101 lesson jonah. After you take 102 next semester you may want to revise your post. Out of control federal spending and increasing debt service are tanking the US dollar, which is sending the cost of imports to record levels. Imports like, oh say, oil, which does more than just fill up the moped you ride to your job at the campus bookstore. High energy costs are squeezing all industries, resulting in poor profits, lower stock prices and layoffs. Thus, recession. Class dismissed.

  • "I am sickened at the thought of living on the same planet as him."

uhm...that can easily be remedied you jerk. I'm surprised you know how to use your spell checker, why not try reading a book lame ass. It's scary to think of how many people you probably have buried under your house, lamer.

  • You know, the Clinton adim. spent money out the ass just like the bush adim.

  • and handed bush a surplus which that idiot spent, and it you haven't noticed we've been spending on credit ever since...

  • Are you really that stupid? Stop drinking the Democrat Kool-Aid.

Myth : The Clinton tax increase boosted the economy in the 1990s and led to a budget surplus.

Fact: The Clinton tax increase delayed the economy's resurgence and had nothing to do with the budget surplus.

  • Here's the proof

Tax cut opponents often claim that the 1993 tax increase helped restore growth and deserves credit for today's budget surpluses. This notion is contradicted by Clinton Administration budget documents. In early 1995, nearly 18 months after enactment of the 1993 tax increase, the Clinton Administration's Office of Management and Budget projected budget deficits of more than $200 billion for the next 10 years. 6 Clearly, events after that date.

  • Funny you say that Nydro, considering Clinton did an execellent job handling the issues with that money and our current president (and his cabinet) have done nothing but piss off the rest of the world. For a party that prides itself on "Foriegn Policy", it sure does ruin our country's credibility. But, I have a really good idea... stop abbreviating administration as "adim". You'll sound more intelligent.

  • yeah ok that's why the 90's when looked back upon in retrospect are considered a time of economic prosperity, let's look at the economy now after 8 years of bush, everything has gone completely to hell. Come on now let's look at the facts here Clinton did a great job economically for our country that much cannot be denied.

  • hromanchik22- A presidential administration lives off of the actions of the prior administration! Clinton and his ilk enjoyed Bush41 successes. Billy boy, while getting his wanky spanked, new about Osama Bin Laden, sold secrets to China, freed drug dealers and had people killed, in my humble opinion! He was worse than Carter, well, almost!

  • WE ARE

  • what the fuck?

    why?

  • What are you thinking about? Anyway, nice to see that young people have sth intelligent to say. I would vote Jeff Fink as the next president lol.

  • Vice too see some kid with a brain

    RON Paul 2008

  • Hey, the US already owes China our souls. We are in debt up to our eyeballs, and there is no possible way to repay it even if we do cut back tremendously.

  • Even if China has our souls we have their bodies. True they could really hurt us if they wanted to, but not without killing themselves either. So it's kinda ok.

  • watch my vids boy

  • I so agree!!!

  • You call Obama the Anti-Christ? HA Everyone knows Hillary is the Spawn of Satan...McCain is what America needs!

  • The Federal Reserve needs to do something? No, we need to do something...

    Abolish the FED!

  • My favorite part about this video is that the Economics Major from Penn State specifically cited George W. Bush's Administration as the cause of our nation's debt as if his administration alone was the root and cause of our recession. It had nothing to do with the FED's destruction of our national currency over the past thirty years or frivolous military engagements such as Desert Storm, Clinton in Bosnia, and their ilk. No, sir. It was Bush!

  • Bush senior did desert storm. Same family. As for bosnia, that was EXTRAORDINARILY minor. We intervened in a european genocide. US currency was stable/historically high under Clinton against the Euro, the Canadian Dollar, Yen and Pound. The FED has always benefited some, but it did not engage in the wholesale slaughter of our currency till this Bush administration printed so much money we had to classify the amount of currency we were printing due to Iraq, and the new corporate welfare.

  • Blame a single administration. Mind you, I'm not defending the administration, but I see your pessimistic blame game as the status quo of the American people and it's sickening. Let's blame Bush. That'll make it better. Instead of trying to understand why and how our economy failed, we put it all on Bush "'cause he's stupid". Mind you, that's hardly true; however, he is corrupt neo-conservative. And we borrowed money from China for Iraq. Clinton started the borrowing from China trend.

  • It's the rebellious college student mindset. You know, they're independent of their parents, so they can finally think for themselves (ahem, have politicians that target these 'freethinkers' brainwash them).

  • Why don't you respond to college students' ideas instead of attacking them with ad-hominem caricatures that merely betray your prejudices? I'm sick of dumb macho idiots infantilizing an entire segment of society, when in fact everyone agrees that it's a noble thing to try to get yourself an education. Here we have a student of economics suggesting we spend less, because in his opinion that's the thing to do. And you make him into a shrill moma's boy wanna be rebel? How? It's all in your head.

  • in all fairness, desert storm was another bush and was probably necessary, and bosnia did not cost too much money

  • Semantics. I don't care who did what where. I'm pointing out blaming just the current administration is a political tactic to gain popularity from the nation's ire. By the way...how much did Bosnia cost? I never could find that out. My guess is more than I alone have paid in taxes in my life and I think that's a lot of money. Money's size is really a matter of perspective. Hell, look at the kids complaining about their student loans on the other videos of this kind.

  • The real issue is that banks and lenders gave money to people who never had the ability to pay them back. Families leveraged everything so that they can "keep up with the Joneses" with SUVs, McMansions, and Tiffany's dance lessons. It is the epitomy of the spoiled generation who refuse to budget and live within their financial means. Lenders were also greedy for letting these people borrow.

  • I think we need to get the geotene out and scare the poloticians into taking back our economic polocy. The not so Federal Reserve is the most important branch of the government and there are NO (NNNOOO) checks on its power.

You don't slam your hand in a door and ask why your hand hurts unless your deff dumb and blind. Thats the media for you.

  • ** Vote No Barack Hussein Obama. Obama said Working Class American's don't matter. Wright (Obama's Pastor) Said the United States Deserved 9-11. Well Obama did listen to this guy for 20YEARS, Obama Must have learned something from him. No Wonder Obama does Not salute the American Flag because his Pastor Told Obama not to. SAVE AMERICA AND VOTE NO OBAMA!

    Obama Can't!!!

America Rise Aganist this racist and VOTE NO OBAMA!

    Don't let the anti-christ win. *

    ** Hillary 08 **

    GOD BLESS.+++++++*

  • lol

  • Martin Luther King railed against the US involvement in Vietnam and said some very very angry things about a racist, imperialistic America.

Abraham Lincoln said that the Civil War was God's wrath for slavery, and that we all deserved the punishment. Were there any shrill and idiotic complaints about that?

No. Because we were adults back then. We have degenerated into a nation of utter crybabies incapable of critical moral thought. And by the way, you aren't fooling anyone, neocon.

  • bud, hate to break it to you, but the civil war was 150 years ago, theres no more slavery, oh, and by the way Lincoln was the first REPUBLICAN, he hated libs just like osama

  • bud, hate to break it to you, but Lincoln was a liberal. The Republican party was the liberal party during that time period. Nice try though.

  • back in the early 1900's the two parties switched ideals. Lincol might have been a repuclican by name but his values were those of modern day Dems not the republicans. Sorry man.

  • your an idiot, people like you are whats wrong with politics

  • Jeff, I really don't think it's a matter of "superfluous" spending; I think it is, quite frankly, a matter of incorrectly allocating expenses - which is definitely going on. The Iraq War is a complete violation of economic principle, but I wouldn't say it's a matter of how much is being spent; rather, where and how it's being spent.

  • man fuck you!!!!!!!!!!!!do somtin cool or somtin i fuckin asleep watching this shit lol

  • Interesting you mention worthless spending, Our government does indeed spend tons of money on a war that we should have never went into. So many lifes lost, Our soldiers donated to RON PAUL more then any other republican canidate and he's second in donations to Obama but only because he has less name recognition. There's a message spreading in our country, Freedom is more powerful then out mainstream media will ever realize, More people are waking up to the fact that RON PAUL is for our freedom

  • I have an idea! How about borrowing trillions more from China and then sucking up to them after they sell us products made out of contaminents because we're to scared they'll cut us off.

  • 'Dudu and murr'

    its like a dream

watch lmao forget this political stuff

    just watch my vid lol

  • If government spending is your concern Ron Paul is your candidate!!!

  • I was wondering why all of these answers are Liberal...then I saw that this is C-SPAN's Channel.

  • there is so much atrocious spending from local govt. to state to federal it is insane. this will always be an issue to a point but the spending is basically criminal it is so bad.

  • What a FAGGGG!

  • i completely agree!

  • Boy, you are cute!

  • Ron Paul is America's last hope.

  • Do yourselves a favor - DON'T VOTE. They ALL suck, they ALL suck BAD, and they're nothing more than puppets who will fuck you in the ass with any chance they get.

  • Right, so by not voting, we're removing a vote from the pool, a vote that could prevent a shitty candidate from screwing us even more.

  • By not voting, you're showing the government that you've lost faith in them. You're also signaling that the entire voting process we have in the country is absolute shit. You know how much money each candidate in Britain is allowed to spend? $10k. Think about it.

  • It's like voting to get AIDS or Cancer. Which one do you want?

  • Hillary and Obama are on a sinking boat.

    Who will be saved?

    AMERICA!

  • Recession, depression, call it what you want but absolutely agree.

  • how did we go into ten trillion dollars of debt in the first place

  • bush

  • Debt is the least of the nations problems right now.

  • Ron Pual 08!

  • Recession? Dude we are well on our way to a depression. Our elected officials have been distracting us with low level social problems, while they spend billions on god only knows what. We are much more taxed than ever before, and the service we receive from government has decreased. Too many politicians have entrenched themselves into public service, and have done a horrible job. The biggest problem I see is that they can't be held accountable. They're immune!

  • Wow, this Kid must have been on a Fed Challenge team or something!

  • Why just ever since the Bush administration? Surely, G. B. has spent billions, but so has basically every other president. Why does no one mention his father or Bill Clinton for heaven's sake?

Also, I basically think it is impossible to get out of debt at this point. The USA is over $10 TRILLION in debt. How is the government supposed to pay off that when it doesn't have any of its own money? The only way is to get rid of unconstitutional government programs: public education, welfare...

  • Bill Clinton loves men!

  • nerd

  • I bet you're a cool guy

  • Hey 338 sorry you are so depressed maybe you should try some prozac or valium

  • lol

  • hey thanks for the news flash there, Jeff.

No offense, but we can stand around and speculate all we want. How bout you make a video and tell us STUDENTS how we can change the world with our ideas, and get involved with ways we can fix our country? I'm tired of listening to bureaucratic red tape mumbo jumbo. Those Congressman shouldn't be making important decisions that are going to affect our lives years from now. Thats why we're in a recession, slumping economy, horrible housing market, etc?

  • Recession?! I Think What You Mean't was DEPRESSION

  • We do need to cut back on spending, but it didn't start under Bush. Pull the plug on PBS, the NEA, etc.

  • lol all bush is good at is sit at the white house and read the newpaper all day.

  • Hey Colemic wake up we have had a war on poverty for over 40 years now and all we have done is create more welfare recipients. You are probably not old enough to remember "The Great Society" and the Civil Rights Act of 1965

  • we have a spectacular budget, we just need to worry about the next president's budget, good video though

  • there is always superflous spending not just with the bush admin

  • The biggest expenditure of this adminastration was on medicade. I agree we dont need to waste money this way. The dems were pissed that it wasnt enough.

  • i think we could end poverty in less than 30 years, hell bush ended middle class in 8

  • your hot,,

    good vid

  • Ay-ay to the "down with superfluous spending", but we are not in a recession.

  • sweet, another fink!

  • what a fucking fag we are not in a recession if he knew the definition of a recession he would know that output has to fall. don't think it has, has it???

  • ok,youtube people are like "I don't need to speak my opinions with dignity because I am behind my computer screen!" Geez lay off on the youkill.

  • wow you are clearly someone who we should be listening to....

  • WOW

  • shu up you smelly yank

  • Government is spending too much.

Government has taken way too much power.

Government should stay out of our lives and our wallets.

Government should meddle less in the economy.

This would make the economy grow, and create more jobs for the poor.

But the politicians have been corrupted by the special interests.

  • I completely agree.

  • Amen, brotha! Just a thought, but what if we paid our congress as much as the average income in their state? I think that's fair. That'd cut down on the budget some. Forbid gifts of any kind to be given to anyone in congress or their staff (if I'm not mistaken, it's allowed now?) and use our oil reserves to sell to third world countries (instead of...i dunno...dangerous technology). While we're at it, why isn't someone doing something about this oil monopoly?
