I don't really get why he would sell the company after he just "sucked" out the value of the company. Private Equity firms exist because take companies that are in trouble and fix them. This plant was not contributing to cash flow of the company and therefore was closed.

Arent you talking about the same loophole that allows the average person to buy an investment property and deduct the interest and the associated costs? I don't think the government will ever do anything about this because it is a business expense ie buying businesses if you are in that line of business same as if you own a trucking company and buy a new truck its how you do business. Not only does the Tycoon stiff the government in terms of his tax liability, but further defrauds the government by stiffing labor of jobs and good pay that result in more tax revenue.
For companies outsourcing to foreign countries they jip the government AGAIN because the foreign workers do not pay US income tax. And then they cry that our government is so badly in debt. The government should wake up.

I don't really get why he would sell the company after he just "sucked" out the value of the company. Private Equity firms exist because take companies that are in trouble and fix them. This plant was not contributing to cash flow of the company and therefore was closed.
Keep in mind, that the reason why this company is there is to increase cash flow. Not to hire everyone and make everyone happy. That is the difference between the worker and the owner.
Be the owner. Start your own.

It is union busting, runaway health costs, loss of jobs overseas, defanging the EPA and OSHA, destruction of the working class, annihilation of America's industrial base, and loss of critial training pipelines and crucial skill sets. My grandfather was a coal miner during the depression. The mine forced them to use worn out ropes to descend into the mines - claiming they could no afford new ropes. One day the crib rope broke and my grandfather rode it down to the bottom of the shaft. He survived badly injured. He became an activist after that and was black listed for it. His family lived out of a car for 8 years. We must not go back to that again. It could happen again.

James Earl Ray was intimidated into pleading guilty to avoid the death sentence. He then demanded a trial for years and never got one. Over 70 witnesses testified in the civil trial. Unions are all about power and greed themselves. The union bosses exploit the workers, and use unfair legislations that protects them from competition from other unions. Workers are forced to join unions in closed shops. This takes away the freedom of choice of the workers. Corporations are all about making a profit. But so are unions.

Yes, it is a socialist friendly tax. If the history of taxation in this country tells us anything, it is that politicians cannot be trusted with a new tax swapped for some existing tax. We will end up with both: the sales tax on top of the income tax (and a black market in goods to avoid the added tax, eventually leading to a value added tax in place of the fair tax). The only "fair" tax is a flat tax, though we know that will never happen.
