  • being out in the sun can too soo. i pefer a fast tan

  • @Pinhead222 LMAO THIS IS SO TRUE. I went into a tanning bed after seeing that & just freaked the fuck out lmao

  • @Pinhead222 LOL I know what u mean. I saw that and I'm like " ohhh hell NOOO!"

  • tanning beds don't make you orange dumbass

  • yo loser you don't tan cause your already fuckin dark stupid!

  • I have been tanning since I was a child, however, I have been using tanning beds since I was 36 years old. I am now 50 years old and I am not wrinked or anything. I use a tanning bed from March thru September and then give my skin a 6 months break. I believe these doctors are too melodramatic!

  • Lol! U get orange from a spray tan not from a tanning bed!

  • what if you live in new york and dont have time to go in the sun???

  • Oh my god at the end of the day Smoking causes lung cancer Drinking Alcohol causes cancer of the liver and there are many different things that cause cancer. Just because you use a tanning bed does not mean you are 75 percent more likley to get skin cancer ! if you use a tanning bed sensibly and in moderation i.e wear a tanning oil with a factor 6 or with a small bit of protection in it and only go under maybe once or twice a week it is no more dangerous than tanning on a beach.

  • Your skin is SUPPOSED to tan, having a tan WILL NOT give you cancer. Having a tan is your bodies way of protecting itself from the sun, how you get cancer is by repeatedly BURNING yourself.

  • Pluck your eyebrow...It won't cause cancer...I promise.

  • ummm.... your dumb as hell! for 1 it doesn't make you orange it makes your bronze for 2 uv light gives you vitamin d and also helps you not get breast cancer, testicular cancer, and cervical cancer. So before you start running you pussy ass mouth get your damn facts straight!

    fucking cunt!

  • Tanning is natural. Your body is designed to get a tan from moderate UV exposure to protect itself from sunburn. Sunburn is what is bad for you & can put you at risk for skin cancer.

using a tanning bed safely is totally and completely fine.

just dont allow yourself to burn, and only use once or twice a week.

and he guy in this video sounds like a complete douchebag quoting this 'medical discovery'. prob. saw it on a current affair. link me to the medical journal that proves this bullshit?

  • @caramorello : LOL..what a loser.tanning in a tanning bed is like smoking: its passé, its not done anymore... insecure narcissistic losers who go to so much trouble and expense because they think it improves their appearance... damn... you must be ugly & get no attention if you have to go to so much trouble... a natural tan comes from hot, well built guys like me taking our shirt off to play soccer, basketball or just doing some good old fashioned yard work... you know, your girl drools over me.

  • @caramorello how he fuck is it bullshit ?

google it if you want, the study has been aound for fucking ever. It was just never 100 % sure.

Now that it is, maybe it can get your dumbass to stop using tanning beds.

    But I doubt it.

  • im sorry that you were misinformed this way, it makes you look a bit silly to be honest. its a common misconception that tanning beds have 5 times the UV strength of the midday sun. its generally double the strength of the sun.

Overexposure to UV can cause skin cancer yes. Using a solarium or tanning bed for around 8 minutes once or twice a week can be theraputic and healthy.

It is completely stupid and ignorant to say that it CAUSES skin cancer.

  • @caramorello: stop trying to rationalize and defend just because YOU waste your time and money on something that most people in sophisticated, educated society circles looks down on... LOL... ignorance is bliss.

no wonder you dont get dates or laid.

  • I agree with this guy why the hell would you what to be orange really I seen girls that are NORMAL skin color then all a sudden boom orange I think it is gross to see girls like that then when a guy does it all I have to say is this "he must love sucking dick or he is never going to get laid by a girl who is not umpa lumpa"

  • people who go to tanning beds are usually extremely insecure and very inconfident.... only if they realized what people really thought when we see them all greasy orange in january... as they will never hear it... but everyone is thinking it.... what fucking fools.... we laugh at them... no wonder they dont get laid.

  • @JessOnTheRun are you ok???? tanning beds create a natural tan. not an orange tan. what are you... 15?

  • @caramorello: bull(cough)shit....

lol.... there is absolutely NOTHING natural about synthetically created UV and UVA rays... dumbass....

you get rejected alot dont you? not many friends... no dates... never getting laid nor does anyone want to lay you.

  • @JessOnTheRun LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  • People go to tanning beds because they DON'T want to be orange. If they wanted to be orange they would use the spray tans or the lotions.

  • Lol Yall defending TANNING....Changing your SKIN's natural texture and DAMAGING it even MORE...I mean really gosh the world wont implode if Tanning was forever gone. Ah well.

  • whatever i love tanning beds

  • @Iadygag0 your gonna get cancer

  • Ima go today anyways :)

  • Snooki has an umpa lumpa fetish! lol someone had to say it!

  • Tans happen when the skin is being damaged, it produces more melanin to try and protect itself. A tan only occurs when there is damage. End of story.

  • @ByeByeBelly

You are correct that tanning produces more melanin to protect itself. That is what I have been saying all along. It protects itself from SUNBURN. A tan is natures way of protecting from sunburn. This is common sense. The Sun is natural. When people go out in the sun their skin turns darker. Have you ever noticed that if you have a tan before you go outside you are less likely to burn? It suprises me that people don't understand that. It is so simple.

  • you dont turn orange LOL!

  • wow this guy thinks he's so cool lol, guess his ego has to make up for that chewbacca face

  • @4pples u must use tanning beds to be saying that, wich is totally stupid

  • yeah i heard about tanning beds being a high risk of skin cancer because of the constant exposure to UV rays. I say if you want a tan, get a sun tan when you're in the beach or pool area. forget those sun tan beds.

  • @AgentCell

    that makes no sense!

You are in a tanning bed for 5 - 20 minutes, maybe a couple of times per week (depending on the bed & your skin type/previous exposure). You usually are by the pool or beach for many hours (much more UV & in an uncontrolled environment). Hopefully people only go in the sun in moderation at the pool & beach, but that is unlikely. Much more dangerous outdoors, due to the much higher chance of burning (burning puts you at higher risk for skin cancer).

  • your a mitchell davis poser, and tanning isnt bad. so shutup.

  • @funnywalterbros LOL you're stupid. how is he anything like mitchell? and yes tanning is bad for you.

  • In Australia, we have a hole in the ozone layer. It's common knowledge that tanning increases your risk of malignant skin cancer, whether from a tanning bed or the sun. But tanning beds are even worse. It's not possible to use a tanning bed wisely.. there is no such thing as a safe tan. But at the same time, we NEED sunlight. But not so much to be causing a tan

  • sorry mate, wrong wrong wrong, you need to look a little deeper. if you are a healthy person with an adequate intake of antioxidants, exposure to uvb light whether it be from the sun or a uvb tanning bed is a HEALTHY practice. being vitamin d deficient is not. stop watching the six o'clock news and do some real research.

  • Theres nothing fun into getting shit brown and aging your skin by tanning. White skin for the win! Looking young forever lol ^_^ still ... sun is good at a really small quantity A LITTLE

  • You know what's ironic? For every person that dies of skin cancer (not all of which are even caused by excess UV), there are 200 that die of vitamin D deficiency. Not only that, but most of these sunscreens and self-tanning liquids are just RIDDLED with ingredients that can cause...*gasp*...CANCER!!! :O

Seriously, mainstream medicine is so stupid. We are human beings, we evolved on a planet that thrives on sunlight!!! People are SUPPOSED to get UV rays, it is unnatural for them to get none!

  • @AwesomeVideosHere

    I concur!

  • @AwesomeVideosHere Human would put mud on their skin at first .. .and thats why humans invented clothes... evolving means learning... learning that you can die from too much sun lol Now they put vitamine D in pretty much everything even in your milk. lolz ... sry for my bad english :P

  • @AwesomeVideosHere We have to get some, but tanning DOES increase your risk of malignant skin cancers dramatically. Tanning is the DNA being damaged. That's the only reason for the colour change.

  • @AwesomeVideosHere

    thank you jesus

  • @AwesomeVideosHere I couldn't agree more. I own a tanning salon and am so tired of these ridiculous allegations against the industry. The public is so misinformed and unfortunately they believe everything they hear on the news about sun tanning. C'mon mustard gas....really?

  • @AwesomeVideosHere 'we evolved on a planet that thrives on sunlight!!! People are SUPPOSED to get UV rays'

so does that mean because we supposedly evolved on a planet with water that water can't harm us?

I work in a skin cancer clinic and its clear enough that the most chronically sun exposed people-natural or artificial UV light-generally have the most skin cancers. Its not that difficult to get your mind round it once you realise that DNA is disrupted by high energy radiation.

  • Nice try, but Dr. Mercola already busted everything you just said. And believe me, he knows what he is talking about. Mainstream medicine is not exactly accurate these days.

  • @AwesomeVideosHere you're an idiot, of course the SUN is god for you, he's talking about tanning beds

  • @KingTekins no you're an idiot, uvb light from tanning beds in moderation is good for you if you have a healthy diet and never burn. i'll give you the same advice that i gave the original poster, stop watching the six o'clock news and do some real research.

  • @KingTekins Tanning, whether from the sun or a tanning bed, causes skin cancer.

  • @ByeByeBelly animals are in the sun all the time without any sun screen and they don't get skin cancer, even the hairless ones. Which means ski cancer comes from a combination of the sun with sun screen and/or tanning beds

  • @KingTekins

Animals don't usually get skin cancer cuz they don't BURN. Their constant exposure has protected them. Yes, they do get tans, I moved from AZ to Oregon & my dog's belly turned white from the lack of sunshine (she used to lay on her back in the sun - soaking up Vitamin D on her belly - smart dog!). People get skin cancer cuz they are indoors most the time, then burn when they go out in the sun.

Burning MAY put you at a higher risk for skin cancer. DONT EVER BURN!!!!

  • @ByeByeBelly

    incorrect!

Burning increases your risk for skin cancer not tanning. Tanning actually protects you from skin cancer, as a tan is your skin's natural protection from sunburn.

If tanning caused skin cancer, everyone would have skin cancer, because everyone sees the sun at some time in their life (which by the way is natural & good for you, as long as you NEVER BURN!!!!)

  • @truthabouttanning No, tanning is your skin's DNA being DAMAGED and turning dark as a result. Tanning absolutely increases your risk of skin cancer. Ultraviolet rays cause skin cancer, and they cause burning AND tanning.

A tan is a sign of skin damage. There is no such thing as a ‘safe’ tan. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight or a solarium increases your risk of skin cancer and ages your skin. People with fair skin are at higher risk than people with darker skin.

  • @ByeByeBelly

Nearly all living things need sunshine to survive. Yes, UV does cause the skin to age, as does every other aspect of the environment - natural or unnatural (including time). A tan is a completely natural reaction to UV. A tan DOES protect your skin from burning! Fair skinned people are at higher risk because they burn. DONT BURN - EVER!!!!

Vitamin D (naturally from UVB) actually fights skin cancer! Be smart & tan in moderation according to your skin type.

  • @truthabouttanning I live in Australia where skin cancer is common and we are highly educated about it. So go to a government website and see for yourself... tanning is damage to the skin and increases your risk of skin cancer. You dont have to burn your skin. Tanning is damage to the skin... you'd think you'd know something as basic as that being called truthabouttanning

  • @ByeByeBelly

You don't think that skin cancer is prevalent there because the sun is so strong (especially with the hole in the ozone) that people burn? Especially fair skinnned people who should not spend so much time in the sun?

Can you tell me how many Aborigines have skin cancer? By your claims they all should have it, as they have spent much time (30,000 years) in the "cancer causing" sun.

  • erick your a fuking idiot mate, you don't go orange from tanning beds, shave your face and stop ranting on you tube, what a tit.

  • get a life

Tanning beds dont make ppl orange.

Spray tans do! And tanning without sunburn wont give you cancer.

Sunbeds are safe if you use them correct.

  • @Ambrosisus You don't have to get burnt to get cancer! You are still exposed to UV Rays!

  • @Ambrosisus Why do you want to darken your skin in the first place? Low self esteem? Do the magazines tell you that looking exotic is better than looking white?

Seeing white women with tans is a real turnoff for me, I don't even want to go near women with heavy tans. A partial tan is ok but I still prefer natural skin.

  • I know a woman who lays in tanning bed every day. She ain't got cancer.

  • you are so wrong..

you know 5years going to a tanning bed, (but modestly) is the same as lying on the beach in Spain for ONE week.. because the sun gives UV-A and UV-B (UV-c is stopped by the ozone) and the lamps of tanning are less harmfull...

and second.. not everybody who goes to tanning is orange xD

me and my friends are brown.. not orange :p

  • @Charliciouss

Everyone tans a different color, but the orange is usually from cheap self-tanners. Use a high quality lotion. You get what you pay for.

  • Lots of recent studies prove also that 60% of cancers are caused by a lack of Vitamin D....recent studies also suggest that SUNSCREEN causes skin cancer....you have to read these studies and where they come from and how they are conducted. The sun is your natural source of Vitamin D, not supplements....instead of being a sheep and listening to the media you should get both sides of the story....there are plenty of studies showing that sun exposure is great for you

  • you are so funni.

    "the cancers worth it." hahahahaha

  • @peacerules07 LOL!

  • im 15 and i go just to not look pale at wrestling tournaments

  • Wow, that is 100% wrong lol... Tanning beds are proven to be the most safe alternative to tanning outdoors, it's a controlled environment.

  • visit my channel......

  • The dude that said theres no dif between tanning outside and using a tanning bed is right. The sun gives off radiation from UV rays. You people are a bunch of followers that believe anything you hear. Tanning indoors is safer by far. If your nasty white get a damn tan.

  • Your definitely thinking of spray tans, and tanning beds can be good for you IN MODERATION

  • If you ever see your skin under a wood's lamp, its like x-raying the skin, and see the invisible damage UV can do to your skin, you will be more religious about protecting yourself. I speak from experience. I've had freckles since I was a kid, but i was not prepared for what was going on under the surface.... nows its SPF every day, and then there is the theory that the chemicals in sunscreens cause cancer... who really knows, if its in your DNA, you're more likely to get it.

  • QUEER

  • Yeah whos the Dooosh Bag in the vid? Big dick suckin fag trying to give advice? Go suck on some non tanned hairy balls. fag!

  • your all idiots.. Ive been using a tanning bed for a tan since I was 16. I am now in my 40's and still use. What the fuck are you retards talking about?? The sun is way more damaging to your skin than a 10 min tanning bed. Your all a bunch of dumb asses.

  • Most people wanna quit but it's addictive, where tanning you can stop like that *snap* but people do it anyways cause apparently leathery skin is in!!

  • lol some people have an ompa loompa fetish XD

  • agreed

  • lol im proud of my freakishly vampire white skin

  • Agree 8D

  • You have no idea what you are talking about.

    1. "Highly Likely" that you'll get Melanoma? How about 1/10th of 1%...that's the likelyhood. The 75% increase you are talking about is literally tenths of a percent, and didn't take into account burning, frequency, skin type, etc.

    2. There was no "new study", it was a meta-analysis of older studies.

    3. The same group that did this meta-analysis also wrote a paper 3 years ago saying that "Tanning beds do not increase skin cancer rates".

  • all your posts are uneducated retards. Sun lets out both uva and uvb, also every tanning bed in the salon I own also give out uvb rays.. not all are uvb. your all a bunch of sheep following dumb asses and Im sure everyone of you are as white ass ugly as the other. Bunch of nasy dumbasses.

  • You have no idea what you are talking about.

  • the stupidest video on youtube

  • u need to get a life! and forget about tanning beds , cause you don't need one since your skin is there already! Although I know spanish people who tan to make their ancesters proud of them.

  • um actually tanning beds make your skin bronze, not orange. Spray tanning can make your skin orange. Just saying...

oh and btw i would never go to a tanning bed! i don't want wrinkles and leathery skin

  • i really dont think his point was that it makes u orange but that it can kill u. i dont see the point in it either. who decided u needed to be tan to look good? yeah it is annoying to be pale (im a natural redhead, i would know) but i would take being able to see scars i dont even know how i got and seeing the veins thru my skin over cancer anyday

  • im 9yrs old and go every day

  • @Ryanrulz7387 0_0 OH MY GOSH, U GOINA TO DIE!

  • Dude, your gonna die, seriously. I'd stop that if I were you.

  • get a life

  • Why do people tan anyway, I have naturally olive skin and I wish it was lighter.

  • Im 13 And I Go

  • @HeyyGurlHeyyGurlHeyy nothing being proud of

  • things that give you cancer

tanning beds - it gives you too much artificial sun

not enough sun - your body NEEDS vitamin d which it gets from the sun. now that youre thinking too much is bad and too little is bad? the ideal sun that you should get would be an hour outside a day. by the way suntan is actually bad for you too

plastic and some chemicals - this should be obvious

    smoking - inhalation of chemicals

possibly being too fat (not sure but i know that being fat is bad)

  • anything these days give you cancer: sun, plastic, talking ..

  • orange is from spray tans, tanning beds give you the real tan. it clearly looks good, which is why people do it; this is a superficial world whether you like it or not. I tan because it looks great, you're naturally tan so you have no room to be bitching.

  • Hey, don't tell the world about it!

How else are these vain idiots going to be rooted-out ot the gene-pool?

  • hahaha you turn orange from spray tans

  • @Tiffneyxoxo EXACTLY!!

  • this kid obviously gets all the bitches

  • Fact: Having a tan in a tanning bed is just as dangerous as lying in the sun!

The difference is that people who use tanning beds, they tend to do so very often, and lying in a tanning bed is more concentrated than normal sunlight. Therefor it isn't healthy to go get tanned every week. It also isn't healthy to be in the sun for too long (not just because of dehydration, but also because of the risk to get cance).

    -This is not bullsh*t (:

  • you don't get orange from tanning beds.... please shave your face

  • @angeltouch2007 yaaa ecaxtly!!! I dont know why people always say tanning makes you orange!?!? wtf!? FAKE TAN makes you orange.. not tanning beds.. people need to get that through there head.. i get brown when i go n tanning beds.. not orange..soo... buddy who is in the video.. your wrong..so...

  • @angeltouch2007

your right, you get wrinkles, freckles and sagging skin. kthxb

  • @angeltouch2007 yea you do, my sister goes there three times a week *shes stupid* and she looks like snookie.

  • u sound like a gay

  • what a dumbas. hey bud id like to see ur proof cause its dermatologists talking out their ass, funny how they even recomended tanning for things like emphesema orosteoperosis. wow read ur shit dumb fuck

  • Its all right he's just being a Dumbass the only time u get skin cancer is when u go overboard to much melanoma build up can cause cancer the sun can give u cancer!!!

  • Your Ugly.

  • umm dude... first thing.. how does a tanning bed turn you orange!?!? it turns u brown.. spray tans make u orange.. not tanning beds.. get it straight.. and it is a FACT that tans make u feel and look sexier... why the hell people always talk about the ORANGE thing!?!?!? i do not get it... lol I really dont.. its so stupid.. and everyone knows tanning bed cause cancer.. ppl dont hve to keep saying it..

  • Actually in many cases it can make you look orange. I've seen people who look orange and tan in tanning beds. And dude, is looking good worth the risk, are you really more worried about your looks then your health? I'd rather be pale and healthy then tan, wrinkly, and have a ton of skin problems.

  • @AngelDust155 no fake tan makes you orange.. not a real tan. .... how can the sun or a tannign bed make you orange?? it doesnt give you a fake tan. its real... some people just get a mor GOLDEN tan.. which tends to lok orange.. but people make so much fun of people who are tan or slightly orange.. its not a big deal.. i personally dont get why people like to make a big deal of people being orange... FAT and OBESITY is ALOT worse... soo...

  • I'm just saying I know this one chick who tans a lot and she looks orange to me. Who knows maybe that's just how it's naturally suppose to look.

I actually support those who get fake tans cause it's way way healthier, where as tanning beds aren't at all!

  • Hey retard sun will give you cancer... it has nothing to do with the tanning bed itself. As soon as you step out side and come in contact with UV light you run the risk of cancer you dumbfuck. ... So what should we all do?? listen to your pale , ugly , skinny ass and stay inside the rest of our lifes?? Your an idiot. People UV light outside is more harmful than controled UV in a tanning bed. Now you know, Tanning indoors is safer than tanning outside.

  • Wow... that is SO 100% false. The sun lets out UVB rays while tanning beds let out UVA rays which are much much more damaging to your skin. All facts prove it. The sun could get you cancer but it's definitely NOT as harmful as tanning beds.

  • Hey your a real Doooosh Bag. the sun hits you with radiation from uva and uvb rays. You need to do some homework before try looking like a hero. ur just another Zero.

  • Wow Dooosh Bad. Good one

Also I have done my research, yes sometimes the sun can let out uva rays, but it normally depends on the day or say where you live. However tanning beds ALWAYS let out UVA rays.

  • @AngelDust155

    Incorrect!

The sun has both UVA & UVB, but depending on the time of year (& other factors) the UVB fluctuates. The UVA remains fairly constant. In the Winter in the far North or South, (depending on the side of the equator), the UVB is nearly non-existent, which is why many people tan indoors in the winter - to get vitamin D, a little color, or protection for sunny vacations.

  • Let Me Remind Everyone FINAL DESTINATION 3

  • LMAOOOO!!!

    "Hey Maureen nice beach glow!"

"Thanks Sandra! Yeah the cancers worth it!"

  • Just remember too much of ANYTHING is bad for you. And just a tid bit of info - Tanning beds supply you with more vitamin D than anything man made. Not even vitamin D supplements can give you enough. They also release endorphins in your body to relax you and make you feel better. They are also proven to clear acne on the face as well as the body.

  • hhaha this just makes me laugh. That would mean that 75% of people who tan will get cancer. No. And the only people who turn orange use a lot of bronzers and go EVERY DAY! If you go moderately and use a good lotion and after care lotion, YOU WON'T HARM YOURSELF! It's safer to tan in a tanning bed than outdoors because it's a CONTROLLED amount of UV light. If you are scared of cancer, don't live.

  • your not funny what you trying to get peolpe scared not cool

  • Yeah, Today i went to the tanning bed for the first time.

    I went for 10 minutes.

    IT SUCKED ASS !

I got SO MUCCCCCH FRECKLES !

&&& my face got realllllly red !

i'm not even that fair skinnned !

    JKHDFKSFKLDSJFLK;SDA.

    FMMFL.FMMFL.FMMFL.FMMFL

  • @sourrrpatch22 Yeah you were probably doing a 42 or a really low powered bed, but in any case why would you be so stupid as of to do the full time in a tanning bed when it is your first time? You are supposed to start low and gradually go up in order to build a healthy base tan.

  • LOL I heard that too, and that bullshit. LOL

  • of course a person who has a natural tan, something we all want makes this video.

    he doesn't understand!

  • Breathing the air in LA will give you Cancer !

  • why does your age matter? BULLSHIIT!

  • @adaniel2012 actually you are wrong. just because the sun puts out the same UV rays doesn't mean its not harmful. the amount of time you spend in the tanning bed affects how much the skin cancer develops, not if you get it. its a proven fact that sun exposure and tanning beds cause skin cancer. 15 minutes of sun exposure a day is the maximum amount you need. dont get me wrong, i live by the beach and spend close to everyday there in the summer. do some research

  • it is an addiction...

  • I rather be pale than orange and dying of skin cancer. There are girls at my school who go tanning twice a week. Imagine how they will look like at 35 (like Sharpeis FTW) and I'll still have the nice skin.

  • oh...my...god...you look sooooo tan!

  • The tanning bed actually gives you vitamin D which is helpful in PREVENTING certain cancers that are MORE serious and NOT AS TREATABLE as skin cancer

  • @expectingamiricle What a lot of people don't understand. Too much tanning is bad for you. But your body needs the sun. As you said it gives you Vitamins you're body needs. Now if you went tanning everyday and didn't stop, yeah that too much.

  • Dude how often do you hear people die young from lack of vitamin D as apposed to those who die from skin cancer from tanning too much?

  • @AngelDust155

I don't personally know of anyone who has died of skin cancer (although it does happen). I know of many who have died of diseases that could be prevented or at least helped from sun exposure/vitamin D.

Check the World Health Organization for the true numbers (skin cancer is very low on their causes of death chart). Most diseases high on their chart are linked to LACK of VITAMIN D (the SUNSHINE VITAMIN)!

  • @truthabouttanning I said, people who are BORN WITH darker skin are less likely to get skin cancer. But tanning your skin darker does NOT make you less likely to get cancer, it makes you much much more likely. And no I'm not talking about burning. I'm saying this literally, tanning your skin increases your chances of getting skin cancer DRAMATICALLY. I didn't say everyone who tans gets skin cancer. Nor does everyone who burns. But it's medical fact that burning AND tanning triggers skin cancer

  • @ByeByeBelly

People are born with dark skin to protect them from sunburn (& skin cancer). It is called evolution. People who have lived in sunny locales for thousands of years have dark skin (tan), which protects them from sunburn. People closer to the poles have light skin (to allow the limited UVB to penetrate & give them vitamin D needed for a healthy life). Light skinned people who go out in the sun for too long burn. If they go out gradually & get a tan first, they don't burn as easily.

  • @truthabouttanning I don't know what your point is about people being born with dark skin. I said people who are born with dark skin are less likely to get cancer... I also said people that TAN their skin darker and not less likely to get skin cancer, they are more likely. 2 totally different things, being born with dark skin and frying your skin dark. It is the skins self defense mechanism, when the skin is being damaged. A tan is only caused by damage. you dont seem to know what a tan even is

  • @ByeByeBelly

they are born with dark skin because they have been TANNING for thousands of years (the evolution I spoke of). How else can you explain why people who live in sunny locales for thousands of years have dark skin & people from not so sunny locales have fair skin?

  • @ByeByeBelly

Where did you get this medical fact of which you speak?

I would like to see evidence that proves someone who tans in moderation & never burns gets skin cancer. Of course they would have to be protected from all other environmental, chemical, and other cancer causing agents, to show that tanning is the culprit.

I have yet to see a study that shows that tanning alone can cause skin cancer. Most studies show that most skin cancer victims are fair skinned people who BURN.

  • @truthabouttanning Melanoma is caused by tanning and burning, not by other environmental factors. This VIDEO is about a medical fact that tanning causes skin cancer, declared by the World Health Organization. Are you deaf??

  • Comment removed

  • @ByeByeBelly The video is a kid saying tanning beds cause Melanoma. How is that medical proof?

The WHO added Tanning beds to a group of carcinogens which also includes mineral oil (including baby oil - the world is giving babies cancer as soon as they are born?), wood dust, several Pharmaceutical drugs (so far), alcohol (including red wine which has also been proven beneficial in moderation). Furthermore, the summary for solar radiation by WHO says it is PROBABLY carcinogenic (not definitely)

  • @truthabouttanning I never said that tanning isn't a response to stop you from burning. But tanning also causes skin cancer, not just burning. I dont know why YOU dont get something so simple. You do realise that a tan can only appear once the dna has been damaged, right? and you know what that dna damage does? CAUSES SKIN CANCER just like sun burn

  • @ByeByeBelly okay it might cause skin cancer,im pretty sure we are on a planet with sun and light, we're supposed to get tan.

  • @truthabouttanning I know that, however probably 90% of the people that tan tan for skin color not cause of lack of vitamin D, and they over abuse their tanning use and end up with serious skin problems and they don't even care (I know this one chick at my school who tans ALL the time, she's freakin brown, and she says she doesn't even care if she gets skin cancer). I think it's ridiculous to tan so much and end up harming yourself like that.

  • @AngelDust155

    I agree!

People should tan responsibly (according to their skin type).

Use Airbrush tanning or self-tanning (high quality, so you don't turn orange), if you want to look darker than is natural for your skin type.

More people should tan for their health. Meaning dark skinned people who have relocated to a less sunny locale need to tan indoors to obtain enough UVB to penetrate their dark skin. Dark skinned people are getting diseases from lack of vitamin D at alarming rates!

  • orange tans are fake tans. and you are brown my friend, of course you do not need a tan.

  • bull sh*t

  • GTL mofucka'

  • tard

  • you are so weird. why do you even care lol youre like...dark...

  • i ws gunna go tan but i think ima just tan in the sun sted of the bed. lol dfunny video.

  • If you had a company that made billions off of sunscreens, wouldn't you want to prevent the public from knowing the benefits of moderate uv exposure. The FACT that sunscreens contain oxybenzone (a known carcinogen) is what may cause skin cancer...or the FACT that mineral oil has been shown to cause skin cancer. Mineral oil has already been banned in Europe, so you may want to check your cosmetic products you use.

  • Hi ErickWithNoK,

Does your screen name stand for erick with no "k"nowledge?

You need to do research before you make claims that are not proven. If you did, you will find that chemical sunscreen companies make billions of dollars each year from people using sunscreen. This FACT has lead to a dramatic increase in Vitamin D deficiency. Research shows that Vitamin D decreases cancer. Guess where u get Vitamin D naturally...The sun and tanning beds. Do your homework before you try and teach!

  • ya, its absolute bullshit. deodorant, silverware, cellphones, microwaves, xray machines, plastic etx give you cancer... looks like were all doomed. Too bad for you dark skinned people are the ones who need the tanning beds the most sinced they are the most vitamin D deficient. Look it up.

  • Actually, OVEREXPOSURE causes skin cancer but since tanning salons promote moderation and Smart Tanning, the possibility of melanoma is unlikely. Also, the UVB emitted in a tanning bed creates Vitamin D, which has been proved to reduce the risks of breast, ovarian, and colon cancer. Not to mention heart and kidney disease, diabetes, MS, and rickets. Get your facts straight before you make ignorant statements.

  • GET BENT

  • I go to the tanning salon to get mystic tans... uv free tanning. but your cutteeeee boy.(:

  • post the scientific articles to prove your point

  • wow rlly? cuz im thinking about going to tanning beds=0 wow... cancer is so not worth it. hmmm hb suntanningg? does tht increase the rate of cancer also?

  • @ksianaLove yep same thing

  • @famecheer122095

    oh okay=] thnk u

  • Key words "most likely" everything causes cancer.......in fact cancer is rising because of sunblock....known fact...they contain cancer causing agents....check your facts

  • So you basically re-gurgitate whatever a magazine or newspaper writes with no effort to do any research of your own? You don't think, "Hmm maybe I should use the brain I have and look at another point of view before passing on bias commentary like its gold". If you did, you might learn that cosmetic dermatology is a multi-billion dollar a year industry and all that money isn't made off botox, it's off the harmful chemicals in sunscreens that dermotogists and the agency are paid to push.

  • u talk gay hoe
