  • I don't get on youtube that much unfortunately anymore but when I do I always look forward to listening to you and this song (in my favorites) The rawness of your voice is just beautiful. Thanks, i bought it on itunes as soon as it came out.

  • I heard this cover about 5 years ago and added it to my favourites. I lost it when i lost my account and have searched for this never finding it again but every time i came on youtube i would do a search...im so happy i found this and sooo happy you finally have released this cover on iTunes. May i just say though, it is this cover on youtube that you should upload to iTunes not the other one you recorded. The emotion in this clip always leaves me breathless. THANK YOU! X

  • Dwayne,

This is really beautiful, so soothing... This has become one of the songs I listen to each time I travel... and I also love your cover of :Baker, Baker" and "Moon River"...

Thanks Dwayne for sharing this ... and for being a good friend on myspace and facebook... Best Regards!

    Manny

  • awesome!

  • jeff is my new supply teacher for music :DDDDD

  • It's not often that I like a "remake" of an original, but I have to tell you that your version simply blows me away. I'm an avid Annie fan, your version is my favorite. Haunting just isn't enough to describe it. And I love the story behind this recording.

  • i love dave stewart strumming the chords...

yet your classical version, and tender voice are so impressive

    bravo

  • Wow, you are great. It's the first time I heard such a good version of this song from a male singer. And I must say I'm a very big Annie Lennox fan. And I made also a cover version of this song.

    Greetings from Ingrid from germany.

  • Ok, I adore Annie and I must say she would be proud to hear this!! KUDOS

  • Awesome job Dwayne!!! Wow... I need to heard this live sometime!

  • Annie Lennox is my favorite artist too mate, so I'm sure you can imagine a bad version would make your toes curl....however....this version is great & I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy listening to it.

I like the changes you made too...they made the song your own so it works well!

Keep up the good work. From Lez in the UK.

  • WOW!!!

  • love it

  • simply fabulous

  • Still as hauntingly beautiful as ever.

  • julianowe...

  • I gotta say, this acoustic version moves me. I'm impressed. I heard it a while ago ... and I still come back every time to hear it ... more than the annie version ... and I LOVE ANNIE!

  • Annies earliest version of this song 'Why' is clearly hard to beat ,twenty years on this is a fair male version.

  • Beautiful.

  • OK - es ist wahr - ich liiiiiebe diesen Song gesungen von Annie Lennox --- aber diese Version - von zwei Männern (!) ist so ungewöhnlich wie schön. Mein Kompliment!

    ---

OK- it´s true - I loooove these song singing from Annie Lennox *smile*- but these Version here - from two men (!) - is also fantastic and beautifu. My compliment!

  • Dwayne, you are the best man!

Can't wait 'till May 26th when I will listen this amazing voice of urs lively @ The Duplex, NYC!

    Good luck with everything!

  • Hey do you have a cd I would like very much to hear more of you. JP

  • this is the best!!!

  • Dwayne Britton is one of the sexiest men alive. I put him right up there with John Barrowman and Mario Lopez. They always say Brad Pitt is hot...well he has his own style, but Dwayne overflows with sexuality. Actually makes my pants a bit tight.

  • Wow, you have an amazing voice! Great job on this song! Hope you are having a wonderful day. Cheers, BubblyGirl444

  • I was so discouraged (I daresay, disgusted) when Kelly Clarkson did her cover of this song, and I had decided that NO ONE could do this song justice, or do Annie Lennox justice by remaking it. I was wrong. This is absolutely wonderful! I am a very die-hard Annie Lennox fan, and I can honestly say that you've done right by her on this one. Bravo! :)

  • this song is amazing, i thought only annie lennox could do it, but dwayne really gives it a feel all his own. way to go!

  • this is a great new version to a song I already thought was amazingly done by the ever wonderful Annie Lennox.

Great job, i wish you luck

  • I love finding new talent. Dwayne you are fabulous.

  • Great version of the song...second only to Annie of course. What ship were you on?

  • Very sexy performance from a outstanding talent.

  • You are a Star.

  • love your voice!!!

  • FABULOUS...i'm a Annie Lennox fan and do not take lightly to people grabbing her energy, but you do do justice...your career is to be watched and we're in your audience.

  • Brilliant, mate!

  • this song never fails to make me cry.

  • i like it

  • gorgeous!!!!! 5/5*

  • Great Job, both of you!!!!

  • dude you ROCK! and you have inspire me to sing again! thanks

  • What a beautiful rendition! My brother Jeff is the extremely talented guitarist in this song, amazing job Jeff as always! Exceptional performance Jeff and Dwayne!

  • Dear Dwayne, hardly anyone can make Annie´s greatest song sound good....but I think you have the talent to do so. I really like your interpretation of the song ! The beautiful guitar fits perfectly...Annie should try to go with a guitar instead of the piano. Great work - and if you want: please do another song of Annie :-) ("No more I love you´s"??) Bless u !

  • Wow, it's hard to remake Annie's version, but this is just brilliant.

Who is he? I don't see a name. It's sooo good it made me cry.

  • Dwayne Britton from Toronto I think it made me cry too even more than annie at live8

  • i luv this vocalist! who is this guy?

  • Well done! One of my favourite songs. Great guitar backing. I've blogged it on Ceridwen Jazz.

  • Kudos to the guitarist! Nice rendention and yes, a hard act to follow, but you did a nice job.

  • love it........music and poetry and harmony that'll break your heart.

These are the songs that haunt our lives.

  • Great and beautiful. This guy know his way! Feeling is all there and voice sound warm with some kind of wise.

  • i like your rendition than annie lennox...no offense to annie's fans...

  • Is this true? This guy sounds just like old Don McLean. Very good!

  • WOW! What a great rendition. If you sound that great at 2:00AM on a ship I can only imagine how great you must sound at a decent hour on land. :) Thanks for sharing.

  • Who is this guy? Not only is he a great looking guy but he has a fantastic voice. He deserves a record contract.

  • Dwayne, you don't know what I feel everytime I watch this video! I just want to pinch your cheeks.

  • so great! who is he???

  • Thats my brother! YOU DA MAN!

  • Amazing.

  • WOW....this version is heartbreaking and amazing...i loved it...you are amazing..whoever you are man!!!! I love this version.

  • You are really great! This is the best cover I have ever heard of a very good song. Simply perfect.

  • Lovely Guys, britain is proud of annie lennox, its nice to know there are others that love her XxX

  • Well damn! YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!

  • Very nice. You have a great voice. The guitar performance is beautiful.

  • love this version

  • Go, Dwayne! Love your version. Cute and talented! Dammit! Is there nothing you can't do well?

    :-)

  • good job! i always love this song...thanks for making it worth listening to again...

    DV, LA.CA.

  • I really love your voice. I do think it feels rushed in places near the end but for a single run through I really enjoyed it (and have watched it again).

  • Holy Moses, dabritton. That was beautiful, haunting and completely soothing. Good job. *bless*

  • I make no apologies, it is simply lovely (Mrs. Bio)

  • First, I want to know what it means that this was "recorded in the middle of the turbulent Atlantic Ocean"? This is only the second time I've heard a man interpret this song. I really liked this version. Criticisms: I think you rush the lyrics in the second verse, and in the conclusion you miss the line "These are the dreams I'll dream instead." But I think you do the conclusion really well. Great version. The guitarist is good, too. Thanks for sharing. Personally, I'd love an mp3 of this.

  • He's cute!

  • I think songs are meant for reinterpretations. This is a pretty cool folkish reinterpretation of Annie Lennox's song. Good job! I think if you extened out the "Whyy's" more it'd make it more dramatic because i think a lot of people love that part.

  • I really dont know what i should think about it... Im an obssesive fan of Annie, This song was saved my life ones and I hate Kelly Clarkson for her remake. This song is UNTOUCHABLE for me... But somehow I like this. I may be mad, I may be blined.

  • i'm not sure this thing captures 1/10th of what that amazing woman gives this song. . . but I'm honored you like it. The video isn't really a "performance" as much at is is trying to get a decent, simple vocal at 2:00 am in the morning (we just happened to video the recording for ourselves). Annie attatches so many colorful layers to her song: her melody, mood, lyric, emotion, make for one solid performance, huh?

  • you did this song justice Dwayne and boy did you, I cried even more than I did when Annie sang it at Live8 ( quite a confession for a man) would love to hear some more of your songs
