Neither Ashley nor Alissa Czisny even made it to the olympics. Goes to show that there were stronger competitors and that they couldn't keep their nerves under control. Maybe the younger girls were more mature.
Right- Skating skills. Which includes many things. My point is that, for example, a triple flip or even a layback spin gives a skater more points. They hold more weight. As far as your second comment goes... I agree to a certain extent. Though, as I said before, it looks rushed and sloppy. Not smooth and fluid and mature like Alissa.
It seems to me that Ashley is rushing through the choreography, and not taking artistic liberties. She doesn't have the maturity and fluidity that Alissa does. Not to mention, her spirals and spins are good but not quite at the Czisny level. Better speed... I'll give that to Ashley, but speed in skating isn't specifically judged, so it is kind of a non issue to me.
Slightly undermarked, I think... Should have been closer to 60! But good job!!!! Love the passion and the jumps looked solid :D. Go Ashley!! Knock em dead tomorrow!!!
