oh, and if the ps2 does read it then theres no chance that it will so that from a memory card, without modding something else first (which is why norma;;y you have to out a hard drive in the back of a fat ps2 and install some software(s) to get it to works then use a majic memory card.

I have a PAL Ps2, I have a modded ps2 using free mc boot on my ps2 memory card, and I burn my Naruto 8 in 1 game (says usa but its japanese writing and stuff when i play it), when i put it in my slim ps2 it comes in black and white, I have ESR and I patched the game and even used ntsc to pal, I don't know why the game appears in black and white :(, can anyone help?

Memento is dead and gone. Better use ESR. It's harder to install, but much more compatible.

ESR is alternative firmware for Memor32 that you need to use in combination with memento. There are much games that doesn't work with memento. But if you use memento in combination with ESR, then all games will work.

memor32 is just a special memory stick that you can link up to your pc. it doesn't help you run any copied games at all normally.

the trick however is that the old memento software could be loaded onto it that hacked the firmware every time it booted.

right now you'll want to use ESR and free/mcboot (google them). and yes, you can play japanese games or whatever just fine.

I just bought an import game from japan, it's "Kingdom Hearts II Final mix+" (NTSC|J) I got the card and uploded the mementor 1.2e firmwire thing...(dunno what it's called) and it doesn't worked. it said that I should insert an ps2 disc. when I tried this with the 1.1 Version I had a black screen. I have an european PAL Playstation2, could the game work with an NTSC cable? Pleas ehelp >:(

No the Memory card as from what i know does not. But all you have to do is but the Memento firmware on it V1.2? and you can. play you back up copies.

However, once I install Memento on the memor32 memory card, do I need to do anything special to the hard drive or the .iso's on the hard drive?

He has edited the video! The load time of an usb hdd is slow and there no much games that are compatible. If you have a big ps2 you can better buy an network adaptor and an ide hdd! For slims you can better use discs.

dude, im using the memento fw, and it works fine. U have to patch every iso u wanna use, but they still can be played on ps2 with a normal modchip. Also, the patching process take 1 second, so dont worry :\

It just loads the Exploit AND Disables your PS2's Drive temporarily until you remove card and restart system.

So, it can only run Homebrew, NOT Backups.

Atleast It disable MY dvd drive.

Im pretty sure the way the memory card exploit is implemented, its impossible to direct boot. If it was possible, they would have done it. I know people think its annoying....but at the end of the day PS2 games are very easy to rip, and spindle of Verbtium DVD-Rs are cheap as chips. If thats not for you then you can always run them from a HD with the 1.3 firmware

If the patching of the isos is what you are referring to, it takes almost no space at all, <100kB. Definitely not noticable. If you are referring to the programming of the Memor32 memory card, the memento firmware uses 4-5MB space and still leaves you with a ton for savegames.

Fist of all, you need to rip your PS2 game to an .iso image file which you then patch using the Memento patcher. Then you burn the .iso to a DVD-(+)R using the burning program of your choice. Most burning programs can dump your disc to an .iso file, I'm pretty sure Nero Burning Rom which is quite common can do this.

I think one of the features will be booting 1:1 copies of games through a swap disc. So you will have 3 ways of booting games.

Not sure about ps1 games. I talked to memento a couple of hours ago and they said the new website should be up and running within a couple of days. They will have a forum, so there will be lots of good shit on there
