And you are a nitwit. The reason we're in debt is because there has been no control over spending, by either party in Congress. Reagan advocated supply side economics, including tax cuts, but spending had to be curtailed. It wasn't in the 1980s, and it hasn't been in the twenty years since. Congress cannot control its profligate spending. Morons like YOU do deserve to vote; it makes you depressed when conservative candidates win, and that fact makes me smile.

You won't be smiling much in 2008. Supply side economics never work, and if Reagan would have had half a brain, he would have listened to the countless that advised against it. Military spending (among other spending) went through the roof in the eighties, and if you look at national debt before and after Reagan's presidency the evidence is cut and dry. Do some research, it will probably change your opinion about Ronny.

You are quite wrong. Supply-side economics works! It has been shown, via the Laffer Curve, that as taxes decrease, the amount of revenue to the government actually increases. More revenue comes in, but if the stewards of the economy (Congress) refuse to curb spending, then progress toward deficit reduction cannot be made. I have done far more research than you could ever imagine, friend, and I still insist that Reagan was magnificent!

Reagan was mediocre. Reaganomics did nothing but enormously increase the national debt. Reagan was unable to balance the budget, though he promised he would. The deficit created by Reaganomics kept the interest rates high which overvalued the dollar, and this contributed to the huge trade deficit we now enjoy.

Reagan weakened the the Antitrust Division of the Justice Dept., the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. This led to the S & L scandals in the 1980's and the stock market collaspe in 1987. Reagan was magnificent in wasting $17 Billion on a giant laser AKA SDI, AKA "Star Wars".

3) I said nothing about Clinton's dalliances with Lewinsky. I referred SPECIFICALLY to his fundraising and his quid pro quo pardons. (I forgot about his granting of Arlington burial to a wealthy fraud/ buddy of his).
4) Reagan proposed a balanced budget every year, but it was declared "DOA" by the Dems.
