i just read Frances's released testimony begging the courts for a restraining order from Courtney and the things she witnessed. I think she is very untrustworthy and I don't think Kurt would kill himself because of his love for Francis. To me the suicide letter seemed like a letter he had written to Courtney after divorce talks. He hated divorce & spoke about staying together for the sake of children instead of being selfish adults. I live in Oslo probably per capita the highest number of heroin users in the world and from what I have seen if they have a dose in their system they are NOT in any shape to either pick up, aim or shoot a pistol/shotgun or rifle.

His left hand was still frozen into place around the barrel of the gun in a cadaveric spasm, according to the medical examiners @ the scene. It was not a large shotgun, the barrel was 22 inches long, and the trigger is a few inches inches beyond that. The entire gun was under 4 feet in length. @dangerdaysalice I think the cops' handling of the weapon is probably a large factor in the cause of the illegible prints. They pried the gun from Cobain's hand, and put it back in its case. Prints weren't taken 'til nearly a month later, so who knows how many other people handled it. I think they were sloppy with the handling of the print evidence, and it's unfortunate.
Makes no sense that there would be NO fingerprints found on the gun if Kurt handled the gun before he used it.... If he did in fact kill himself... the gun would be full of his fingerprints... it wouldn't have been clean of all prints... Kurt was murdered... Look at all the evidence.
@jrrcor There WERE prints on the shotgun. The cops pulled 4 cards of latent prints off of it, but they were too badly smudged to be legible. Smudging could have occurred due to Kurt's sweaty hands sliding across the surface of the weapon, and/or due to the cops somewhat sloppy mishandling of the evidence before fingerprints were dusted for. It's also possible that someone tried to intentionally wipe them off. Personally, I think the cops themselves are to blame for the lack of legible prints.
Rene Navarette, sometimes nanny to Frances, claims to have personally shot up w/ Cobain @ the Marco Polo in March '94. Neither Krist nor Dave has ever claimed to have seen Kurt actually shoot up during the entire time they knew him. If you're looking something as "hard" as a positive drug test of Kurt in '94, then (if there is one) I've never heard of it. Regardless, a negative drug test can only speak for 3 days prior to the test. Make of it whatever you'd like.

There's a video interview w/ Kurt here on YT, done in Dec "93, where he says he got the prescription you mentioned "about a year ago." He continued to use dope even after the meds, that was his downfall :(

I would suggest you read "Dead Men Don't Pull Triggers" by Roger Lewis: the 1.52 mgs per liter indicates an original dose of 225 to 240 mgs, a 3 times lethal dose, based on someone who is 250 pounds; Kurt was 215 pounds so this amount of heroin would be further debilitating. And there was also valium in his system. No way could he have picked up the gun.

I don't get it. Why would someone, even if the person survived, commit suicide after injecting heroin? It'd seem logical that the heroin is injected for the person to feel good, better at least. The situation where the person would commit suicide would be when the "rush" wears off.

Even Kurt and Courtney's lawyer Rosemary Carroll, and Kurt's close friend Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth have said they don't think he killed himself.

I always found it odd that Kurt was found in the middle of a room. One would think that if this were a traditional overdose/suicide, that the person would be in a more "comfortable" position (propped up against a wall or lying on a bed). To put your works away and roll down your sleeve seems like a pretty fuckin' trivial thing to be concerned with just prior to killing oneself. All these little "strange" things sound like a shotty attempt to cover one's tracks. The SPD should have seen this.

Yes, from everything I have read on the subject, Kurt's face was intact and not blown off like a lot of people think/say. The book they mention is this video "Who Killed Kurt Cobain" by Halperin and Wallace is a great read, stay away from "Heavier than Heaven" by Charles Cross...there is too much "what I want you to believe" garbage in that one. I live in Oslo probably per capita the highest number of heroin users in the world and from what I have seen if they have a dose in their system they are NOT in any shape to either pick up, aim or shoot a pistol/shotgun or rifle.
Seems much more logical that someone found him in that state and placed a gun in his mouth an pulled the trigger with his own hands without him being even conscious. Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor or a rock star..

I don't know what to think about his death, but this does make me think and think that maybe the case should be reopened because of the information that's presented here and also with some of the other evidence that's out there (like the tapes of the PI with Courtney and the fact that someone was using his credit card that Courtney had cancled after he had fled rehab "to help trace him" even after he was all ready dead)... Did she or did she play a part in it or did he just kill himself?

I think kurt did not kill himself. I dont think courtney killed him physically BUT verbally. There could have been something courtney said to trigger kurt to actually succeed to at suicide. In his song heart shapd box, the true meaning of the song confirmed that courtney always wanted to be in control, and it confirmed how women have sexually power over men.She pushed kurt to the limit. Women can make you feel like the best man alive but can also make you feel worthless.

But looking back, I wonder why Court inquired if Kurt's gun was in the place that she last knew it to be. @MegaPigvomit Kurt held the shotgun inverted against his chest, with the butt end between his legs, and pulled the trigger with his right hand. His left hand was still frozen into place around the barrel of the gun in a cadaveric spasm, according to the medical examiners @ the scene. It was not a large shotgun, the barrel was 22 inches long, and the trigger is a few inches inches beyond that. The entire gun was under 4 feet in length. @dangerdaysalice I think the cops' handling of the weapon is probably a large factor in the cause of the illegible prints. They pried the gun from Cobain's hand, and put it back in its case. Prints weren't taken 'til nearly a month later, so who knows how many other people handled it. I think they were sloppy with the handling of the print evidence, and it's unfortunate.

@jrrcor There WERE prints on the shotgun. The cops pulled 4 cards of latent prints off of it, but they were too badly smudged to be legible. Smudging could have occurred due to Kurt's sweaty hands sliding across the surface of the weapon, and/or due to the cops somewhat sloppy mishandling of the evidence before fingerprints were dusted for. It's also possible that someone tried to intentionally wipe them off. Personally, I think the cops themselves are to blame for the lack of legible prints.

Rene Navarette, sometimes nanny to Frances, claims to have personally shot up w/ Cobain @ the Marco Polo in March '94. Neither Krist nor Dave has ever claimed to have seen Kurt actually shoot up during the entire time they knew him. If you're looking something as "hard" as a positive drug test of Kurt in '94, then (if there is one) I've never heard of it. Regardless, a negative drug test can only speak for 3 days prior to the test. Make of it whatever you'd like.

Personally i think your very unlikely to even feel depressed after a hit. the feeling is more of elation, without sounding like Im promoting heroin. People wouldnt take it if it makes you depressed. @kistershi: Methadone, orally administered morphine, hits the system much slower than intravenously injected heroin. I would suggest you read "Dead Men Don't Pull Triggers" by Roger Lewis: the 1.52 mgs per liter indicates an original dose of 225 to 240 mgs, a 3 times lethal dose, based on someone who is 250 pounds; Kurt was 215 pounds so this amount of heroin would be further debilitating. And there was also valium in his system. No way could he have picked up the gun.

@mccaffffff No, the official police reports are all on the Smokinggun website. Tom Grant is far from the only person to have suspicions about this case. Even Kurt and Courtney's lawyer Rosemary Carroll, and Kurt's close friend Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth have said they don't think he killed himself.

@malaki627: First of all he was shot-up with heroin in both elbows, how could he have held the gun, second, with a 3x lethal dose he would have passed out before he could pull the trigger. Also, his sleeve was rolled down and his needle put away. He did all that?

Pretty much every lyric Kurt ever wrote was about suicide. He was a junkie for years, he'd been depressed his whole life, he had some stomach condition that caused him intense physical pain. Courtney's a crazy bitch and I'm sure he did have some problems with her, but come on, he killed himself. It's just that some people can't accept that and she's a convenient lightning rod.

So basically every single piece of "evidence" they have to prove he was murdered, can easily be debunked. There is not one shred of "evidence" that proves he didn't kill himself. I hate people with their conspiracy theories. People claim he "could NOT have had that much heroin in his system and managed to kill himself." Really? Because several PROFESSIONALS have said otherwise.

@Hotice770 Actually just one professional I'm aware of, has said that (in the documentary Kurt and Courtney), and the person he was talking about took methodone orally, not heroin, and not intraveneously. And even some of Kurt's friends like Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth have said they don't believe he killed himself. So its not like its just a bunch of conspiracy nuts. I don't know what to believe, but you'd be a fool to say it's a clear-cut case either way. The Seattle PD botched the case.

but guess what HE DIDNT SHOOT HIMSELF. when he was found their were no physical signs of trauma. the electrician who found him even thought that kurt was asleep until he saw a small amount of blood coming from his ear. you cant shoot yourself with an m22 shotgun and only have a little blood come from your ear. he was either murdered or he planned to commit suicide and od'd before he could do it

What does matter is that that man (Kurt) was murdered, almost all arrows point to it and that woman (Courtney) knows something beyond the "fishy" suspicion. AGREED! I didn't know much about this when it first happened (I was barely 17 myself and still in highschool). Being young and naive back then, I believed whatever the f**kin' media said. But the more I've been looking into Cobain's death these last few yearz, the more my gut and instinct is tellin' me that something is definitely "shady" here. I always found it odd that Kurt was found in the middle of a room. One would think that if this were a traditional overdose/suicide, that the person would be in a more "comfortable" position (propped up against a wall or lying on a bed). To put your works away and roll down your sleeve seems like a pretty fuckin' trivial thing to be concerned with just prior to killing oneself. All these little "strange" things sound like a shotty attempt to cover one's tracks. The SPD should have seen this.

@berryblitz07, I was 14 when he died, and honestly, I didn't start getting into Kurt's music until the end of that year. Yes, from everything I have read on the subject, Kurt's face was intact and not blown off like a lot of people think/say. The book they mention is this video "Who Killed Kurt Cobain" by Halperin and Wallace is a great read, stay away from "Heavier than Heaven" by Charles Cross...there is too much "what I want you to believe" garbage in that one. Laters.

He already dead before the gun. i think he was druged with diazpam, then given the herion. then to make sure he was dead and noone could find him and try and safe him from the OD ,the gun was used. she knew he was already dead that why she sent Tom and Dylan on the 6th, but they failed to find him the times they went they so sent someone to find him.

Yeah it is all odd. another thing is she only sent Tom Grant and Dylan Carlson to the LW house on the 6th April and only mentioned to him that Kurt might have a gun and Sucidal, She was over heard tell Dylan to check the greenhouse, which he failed to do. and never mentioned to Tom about it, Maybe the gun was used on Kurt then... i think the gun was used on the eve of 6th or early hours of the 7th, someone of Micheal Dewitt decription was seen leaving the LW house, he was heading to meet

I think she needed confirmation that Kurt was dead and if she found out the weapon was not in the closet then that confirms to her that he is dead. Ironically, an electrician shows up the next morning to install lighting right outside the damn greenhouse where Kurt's body was. Odd, odd, odd.

at least courtney was trying to fucking kick dope during this time, while kurt was ditching rehab and coping dope. he was doing so much dope that his tolorance for heroin was through the fucking roof, making it possible for him to shoot lethal amounts and not o.d.. i know all about that too, as i have shot 300 dollars in heroin in only a few hours several times. people need to stop blaming courtney and look at the facts.. heroic addicts get very suicidal .
