Terrible acting and District 9 (Costed between 20-30 Million dollars to make) had better effects, and this movie costed over 190 million dollars to make.
I watched this expecting it to be terrible, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was just mediocre. The story was ridiculous, but the special effects were good and I was more interested in the moral questions raised by the authorities' handling of the crisis. It's so true that the wealthy and powerful would save themselves and leave everyone else to die. Anyway, I would describe this movie best as the hideously deformed lovechild of The Day After Tomorrow and Atlas Shrugged.

2012 wasn't that good. I mean, it had way to many "Oh my ****ing god, DO SOMETHING!!!!" moments for my comfort. It was great for it's destructive moments, but otherwise it had an overly weak presentation on it's story. I will say it's worth getting if you LOVE disaster scenes.

Oh my god, I was really scared when I first saw this trailer. I was really freaked out and I nearly cried when I heard that it could happen. So I finally pushed myself to go and see it so I could tell people that I had saw it. I was shaking when I was about to walk into the theatre, but when I came out I was smiling. It's now my favourite movie! But I really don't think the world will end in 2012, and if it does it probably wont end that disastourous :)

The comment cannot be taken as a serious insult, of course Grace doesn't actually think the Mayan's were lazy. Their calendar had to come to an end, it wasn't as if they never finished it lol.

This movie had the quality and character development of a zombie movie. There's no doubt it sucked. But the special effects is a good enough reason to watch it, because they are FUCKING BREATHTAKING! Shame Emmerich has no talent without explosions. If 2012 was directed in the style of like "Children of Men", or even "Book of Eli", it'd be eons better. I mean there's so much story!

I dont think that this "kids, you have to study sciense" message that is present in all the movies lately ig going to work for 2 reasons: 1) kids in china and india will also watch most of those movies so, if it works, it will also work for them. 2) kids will be so anoyed by this that they will all end up studing literature. and whats with this american obsesion with the end of the world? maybe instead of criticising other cultures you should carefully examine your own first.

What you never hear in the media about all this 2012 hype is that the Mayan calendar restarts after the end. Just like our years restart after one ends. Plus, dig into the origins of this whole thing. It started with Nibiru, taken from one (mistranslated) clay artifact. Why is that no longer mentioned?

2012 wasn't that good. I mean, it had way to many "Oh my ****ing god, DO SOMETHING!!!!" moments for my comfort. It was great for it's destructive moments, but otherwise it had an overly weak presentation on it's story. I will say it's worth getting if you LOVE disaster scenes.

Oh my god, I was really scared when I first saw this trailer. I was really freaked out and I nearly cried when I heard that it could happen. So I finally pushed myself to go and see it so I could tell people that I had saw it. I was shaking when I was about to walk into the theatre, but when I came out I was smiling. It's now my favourite movie! But I really don't think the world will end in 2012, and if it does it probably wont end that disastourous :)
