People partially don't like Craig because he's too violent. I say, its required; the originals were meant to fight the war on intelligence and so their wasn't much need for violence. but now, we fight terrorism. For that, you must kill or be kill. I say it's required for him to be so violent, otherwise, how could be fight terrorist or crazed bombers?
@themettaloid1 Connery, the best bond, was pretty violent and menacing too. It should be required in serious Bond roles, they're basically playing government hitmen/saboteurs.
Vesper Lynd wasn't useless. We got to see Bond's match in intelligence, wit, and charm. We got to see a more unusual side of Bond in which he moved beyond being a cold killer to being a real man with emotions. All this made the movie much more interesting.
@specialforces69 haha dude i'm in no way doubting and you're right. just saying that in terms of the context of the movie it was way more "rugged" to kill him slowly in that scene than to be all suave and smooth and just do the proverbial swift killer move. Besides this was his like fifth time killing a person as a new bond so it was meant to be all messy and unprofessional. he was way more swift stabbing that guy in the hotel in the second film as a full blown agent
@specialforces69 haha true but then again what you read in a field manual and what happens in the field itself a lot different. don't think MI-6/5 (whatever) has a chapter on fighting insane machete wielding african militants in a five star hotel stairwell
Wow - Bond executes clear Aikido, Judo, and Jiu Jitsu all in the same fight. Now that is what I wanted to see: A James Bond who very clearly has the skills and knows how to use them.
Funny, I think that if anything David Arnold should've stayed the fuck quiet during the fight. I hate that talentless cunt so much, I'm glad he's not doing Bond 23. He's not done ANY memorable pieces of music for Bond, just a relentless wall of noise. Like in this scene.
Lucky the black guy didnt know bjj if not (by the way James Bond had the feet crossed) the black guy could've broken his feet with no effort... also instead of going for the gun he could use his hands to poke through James Bond's eyes..

I wish I had a bet in Casino Royale who was going to win the fight.

@Shrikeism i have to agree. for their time, seeing people electrocuted by lamps thrown in bathtubs and so on was pretty intense.

@tcvicesquad exactly bro. His music puts me to sleep. John Barry kicks his ass anyday
the faster segment of "Underwater Mayhem/Death of Largo" from the Thunderball OST would go perfect with this scene.
