  • Did Boeing abandon the jumbo market or did they underestimate customers' natural proclivity to desire the newest and biggest?

  • @fishmanMarch61 Not many airlines desiring A380 either. Most of them are replacing their jumbos with 777's, A330's, 787's..etc.

  • boeing make jumbo jet while airbus makes superjumbos

  • 0:56 HA HA HA Captain Kirk

  • This vid showed 90 percent people and maybe ten percent of the aircraft. WTF???

  • if it isn't Boeing I'm not going!

  • One of the major reasons why BA didn't buy this is the the 747-8 doesn't offer RR engines.

  • When are airlines going to start buying this?

  • I would not advise using Gulf Air as your endorsing brand ambassador....they are deeply troubled

  • I wish the windows here were like the 787's

  • Don't forget it was the first ever wide-body jet and simply just looks good :)

  • The 747 will always be the King of the skies. Such distinction in global aviation history that not even the A380 can erase. It will be the first, the longest running and the most beautiful plane ever. It has been in use since the days of my parents and will continue to be in use in the days of the next generation.

  • I would like to see British Airways ordering the Boeing 747-8 intercontinental for the 747 replacement.

  • @Ahuntsicspotter That ain't gonna happen it seems. BA were offered the 747-8 but when they did a comparison, they found the A380 to be the better all round aircraft and more suited for their needs. Their CEO said it was mainly down to buying the aircraft that could increase passenger numbers while operating out of slot restricted airports such as LHR, NAR et al. The 747 is simply too small in terms of cabin space. A380 has 35-40% more room and seats offer greater width & pitch even in economy

  • This plane is going to make the sky more beautiful

  • Very nice video. From what I've seen and read about this plane, it will be a highly successful plane for decades to come. Airbus might have a double decker plane (A380) but I think they're delusional if they think they'll ever have a shot in hell of dethroning the Queen of the Skies.

  • Joe Sutter would be proud!

  • Captain kirk - 0:59

  • Great job Boeing.

  • is the 747-8i bigger than the a380?

  • @PIUFS18 Its longer. But the A380 is still over-all bigger.

  • @PIUFS18 the a380 is the biggest passenger plane

  • no

  • How can a CEO say that a plane is reliable before it goes into service?... it sounds like Boeing if suffering from envy of not having the biggest passenger aircraft anymore

  • @SquirrelFromGradLife

reliable?? well all the tests, I guess. and they arent envious, why would they be?? they have held that position for like forty years. and who cares anyway?? that all sounds so childish. "ooh, my one's bigger than yours, take that!!" thats what all you guys are saying now. as if it really matters. no one wants to be cramped in with like 800 other people anyway. the B747-8 is just the right size

  • @maxwellus000123 Airlines would willing to cramp everyone inside a plane to earn more money. Especially low-cost careers.

  • @Danielyeoh5885 The goal for an airline is to get repeat business and make people comfortable. The fact is they're not going to excessively crowd people on a plane. You might want to try and get your facts straight.

  • @SquirrelFromGradLife Are you out of your mind? Reliable meaning the technology is tested before, and indeed it is, most of the 747-8 features are derived from the 787. The GEnx is a strong and solid engine. The new wing is derived from the 787's wing, and the increase of composite materials is the result of experience with the 787. What do you mean how can a CEO say it? Did you forget that the CEO happens to NOT be from Boeing? So Boeing isn't suffering from envy.

  • Please Mr. Samer buy this aircraft so that your airline can ferry the umrah pilgrims from Malaysia to Bahrain. Long live the Falcons!

  • they said there so much more space, longer upper deck... cough cough A380 is better

  • @12wooky the A380 will never garnish the attention and adoration the way 747 has. It may be bigger and more packed, but, the 747 has always had class to it. I have been on the A380 and liked the plane but still love Boeing aircraft. They have a more open feel to them that boeing lacks.

  • Gulf air livery would look awesome on the 747-8, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon, if at all.

  • I will take one please

  • Nice endorsement. Congratulations on yet another Intercontinental (& Freighter) sale for plane.

  • I realy hope Emirates reconsider about 747-8I, coz this what they need now! and new generation of wide bodied airplane!

  • Emirates come on go for 747-8I!!!

  • I want one.

  • I really hope this plane gets a million orders! This plane is just pure art!

  • Fantastic job Boeing!! The queen of the skies is back in business, and looking better than ever! If it ain't Boeing, I'm not going!

  • Then when will we know which airline orders those 15 of this?

  • Yes, we did get new orders! Yesterday, we enjoyed a day of orders of almost every airplane made by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. We even posted a video about it -- "Boeing racks up orders at Paris Air Show." Thanks for asking.

  • Boeing, well, did u get any new orders?
