@SteveNilsenPhoto no. you cant upgrade the cpu in an imac or a macbook. the processores are soldered onto the motherboards. even if you know how to remove it you'd void any warranty, and probably ruin the computer.
Can you tell me what SSD you installed, and any other items i might need? I have the same machine and looking to do the same. Ive reinstalled a regular HD on this imac before, so opening is not a problem for me. Thanks for any info..
Also - I assume you did this to improve the speed? I'm just searching to improve the performance of my 2008 imac...because adding 4gb ram didn't help :) Thanks!
How much ram does the unit have? What is the boot time roughly?

Is it easy to do a CPU upgrade? Will it support a Core2Duo 3Ghz cpu?
