Too many people r so mean about this anime. Who cares if Glass Fleet has sucky animation or not, at least focus on the storyline and see how good it really is. For me this anime was addicting, and i can't wait 2 buy it no matter what
@sparklechild7689 It is a nice animation but it did not potray the background of all the crew of the Glass Battleship. Only Eimer and Barats' background are revealed. What about Novy, the computer genius and Hizack, a skilled and loyal soldier. I expect Hizack being a former bodyguard of the Royal Family and Novy's family a loyal servant to the Royal Family. In the end, Vetti is neither Vetti nor Cleo as he is more of a new person with personalities of both brothers.
Funimation totally lets this anime die. Among all the titles they possessed, they haven't uploaded any free episodes of this one on Youtube. Ppl heard many bad reviews about this anime, which is entirely subjective, it would be a great help to let fans see it for themselve.
CG anime is so mediocre...I'm sorry, but it is, there's no more soul so to speak, and animating mecha by hand is a dying art...heck, it probably is allready dead.
Compare something like Venus Senki, or the original Macross series before 2000's with modern day anime and see the difference.
Shitty opening song doesn't fit the animation. They should have had a composer write original music instead of slapping on a song from one of Mihimaru's albums.
J Pop and panty shots, that's anime today for you.
I liked this anime, it was semi realistic apart from where they were jumping between battleships, ramming right through them, and people surviving getting stabbed through the heart, it was nice to see that the weapons of choice were not lasers, but artillery shells. come on everybody knows we will never get laser weapons. never ever. (in physics terms, they require way too much energy)
didn't like it,extremily static and they mix too much thing...what are space ships, roses and samurais doing together?...suposed the tried to be original, TRIED

I quite enjoyed this anime (Not least of which the simple fact that it wasn't about over powered teenagers with magical powers... Although they can breath in space for some reason but at least Everyone seems able to do that) but god I hate it's opening and ending songs. I mean, I have no problem with the songs themselves, they're just your standard J-pop anime fare but they really don't fit the show at all and feel totally incongruous.
Glass Fleet is good, but it had pacing from Hell, I'm not kidding, you have to get through the first 10 episodes before it gets really good, but I liked it.

They should never make another thing related to this series ever again. It was terribad and is currently wasting shelf space in my anime collection :(
Have to laugh. Someone will post a video called My 5 Favorite Anime Openings.
Nothing wrong with that. But it's openings for animes like Library War, Gintama, Bleach, Naruto, etc. And none of it is original music. Just songs borrowed from J-Bands like Base Ball Bear, Scandal. Asian Kung Fu Generation and Uverworld.
If you were to mix and match those shows and songs it wouldn't make any difference.

Anime themes were better when they were composed specifically for that show, even the lyrics were about the about the anime. Now it's just cheaper to use a song off the album of a J-Pop band. And it's cross promotion. Hear the song, think the anime, watching the anime promotes the band.
This song as well as many recent J-Pop anime themes are nowhere near the excellence of the themes for Escaflowne and Evangelion.
But I guess J-Pop themes are good enough for some people....
I would add Kenji Kawai in there as well. And they've all done some good work. But the point is not in using a well known composer, just that anime producers have forgotten the importance of music in the overall tone of the show.
If Arslan and Lodoss were made today the themes would be guitar riffs and hip hop from an Avex band.
I always used to buy soundtrack CDs for anime I liked but I haven't done that in a long time.
Oh, yeah. I'm with you there. Like, the soundtrack for The Big O by Tosihiko Sahasi fit the mood just right, for example. I haven't seen that for much lately.
Lucky Star is sort of an exception, but they use the same music over and over, like in Seinfeld (Both are gag series, so it makes sense.).

The music is very good despite the "rap" attempt thrown in which totally does not belong. I think however that the music besides the very lame "rap" attempt is to be interpreted as though this is a moderately fast paced action type anime. However this particular anime had very good writers and story editing which made this anime a very good series/movie.
Im about 10 eps in. This is a decent anime with a very interesting story line. There is some character background and development. The first episode is very good which hooks you and you actually start caring for the characters and why they came to be. So I'd recommend this one.
It's basically about revolution...in space. It's set in a government a lot like the french aristocracy but there's a lot of action and gunship battles too.
Idk about everyone else but i watch all my anime even this one on anime44.com -_-

Glass Fleet is one of the best animes in history. The only reason why not many see it is because it's an awesome unpopular anime.

they should make a last exile glass fleet movie for theaters that would be creative and intresting

Typical jpop from Mihimaru. Guy steps in with the rap. Doesn't sound like anything special or fit the visuals to the opening very well.
Unfortunately it seems that's the way anime music is going. Take a song from a j band instead of composing music that fits the show.
