  • I am on my side. My selfish side. The side of me that wants to live. In saying this, I realize that others are required, however, can we live with love and respect not only for ourselves but for the planet on which we live? Perhaps when we can do that, we will on be on the same side of life.

  • Man will believe he is the apex of creation... until he is gone.

  • that's one of the things i'm afraid of.

  • Fear will not change it. Fear is what causes it. We elliminate all threats and conquer all competitors. "War is the solution to man's problems, all of them."

Changing minds can be difficult but reconditioning is next to impossible.

    Keep planting seeds.

  • @donHooligan Do not fear that man as we have known him must end. That is what we do; we emulate the phoenix. We sculpt out the hollow of new ideals, then from the fiery crucible, those which are least volatile pour ourselves into the molds. The flaws time has told us of, are the guidelines of what to remove from the molds. History is a memory of pain, an ever growing list of "don't do thats". This time let's hope that the lesson that we a mere strands in the web of life, is part of the new mold.

  • @DonQuixotedeKaw i want to avoid as much pain (for others as well as myself) as possible.

  • I believe anything is possible. I'm not real religious or anything, But rather think of us (Humans) as being the gods. Sense the beginning of time, we have started everything with just a thought. We think of something, and we manipulate our reality to create it into existence. Is that not god like? I feel this fact about our selves has been deliberately hidden from us using religion as the blinders on the road of understanding. We act as gods every day. But never really realize it.

    Homestead!

  • i believe that our "acting like gods" is going to be the death of our species.

though every person is a "piece" of god...so is every tree and mudpuddle.

  • Well we are what we are... This will never change. What does change is what we do with our time and for what purpose.

  • absolutely.

    purpose is really important.

  • I think you meant to say "acting like devels" because if we were acting like gods, then wouldn't we be serving egalitarianism more than totalitarian agriculture. Isn't that why Cain killed Able before he pled with God to give him a mark so that the people that didn't exist wouldn't kill him. That's facetious levity. :-) chow

  • I am on the whining side. I have come to the conclusion that is all I can do. I fought mainstream media and lost.

  • i love you, man.

    that comment cracked me up.

you haint lost. sheeit. yer winnin.

    "don't believe the hype"

  • I'm going to get the Toa of Pooh and the Te of Piglet. Are there any other books you'd recommend?

  • those are killa books, man.

"while piglet frets and eeyore worries...pooh just is."

"zen mind, beginners mind" by Shunryu Suzuki is pretty good. (along the same lines)

"way of liberation" by alan watts is pretty good too. (start @ pg 39...is my suggestion)

  • This book kept popping out at me at different book stores, I suppose I am meant to get it. I kept thinking, "oh that book looks cool, er...wait, it's about winnie the pooh." I didn't realize that it was actually philisophical. Perhaps if it's still showing itself to me, I'll pick it up!

  • I'm on the winning side. The community of life.

  • the side of life i hope

  • i'd like to be...

    but i still feel stuck.

  • you are on the side of life... i hear you speak .
