To me, chivalry extends to opening doors for women, helping them put on their coats and maybe covering puddles with cloaks (a la Walter Raleigh). But paying for a date isn't a matter of chivalry in my opinion and I don't think it makes you a gentleman but a GIRL paying half makes her as close to chivalrous as women can get.

I haven't seen your videos in such a long time but WOW, you are looking prettier everyday. ^_^ One of my chop reasons are definitely being rude to someone who is rude to staff or people at restaurants. It pisses me off because I just don't get how someone could be so rude to someone that they have never met before (and the person is giving them food?!?!). My other chop is when the person doesn't listen when I say to stop and thinks that pushing my buttons is cute. Out of characters to elaborate.

I agree with Vanae, if a guy asks a girl to diner HE should pay but to be honest I don't think going to a restaurant is the right thing to do for a first date.The first date is about getting to know each other and seeing if your compatible so you should do something more casual and fun. I'm *usually* turned off by tattoos but have made exceptions at times. Of course I never actually succeeded with getting with any of those, just found them acceptable. I like tall women too as a preference but have never required it and no tall women have ever accepted me either! =(

@vanae12 Vanae, I normally agree with you but I have to say that I agree with the people calling you a gold digger here. Girls and guys earn the same now so girls should pay their way. It's a two-way street. The fact is that even on the first date, guys are investing their money in the relationship (*cough* recession *cough*) but girls not doing the same either makes them look cheap or makes them seem uninterested in the guy. As in, "you're not worth my money but I'm worth yours".

@Skybreak31 I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I still think the girl should pay half on the first date because there's no female form of chivalry. To me, chivalry extends to opening doors for women, helping them put on their coats and maybe covering puddles with cloaks (a la Walter Raleigh). But paying for a date isn't a matter of chivalry in my opinion and I don't think it makes you a gentleman but a GIRL paying half makes her as close to chivalrous as women can get.

Why should society continue to live by norms that are obviously bad ideas. People used to get jailed for questioning the authenticity and credibility of the bible and creating crazy ideas like evolution. lol. I believe the person asking should prolly pay the date just as a matter of respect. but nothing beyond that.
